But some of these branches from Abraham’s tree—some of the people of Israel—have been broken off. And you Gentiles, who were branches from a wild olive tree, have been grafted in. So now you also receive the blessing God has promised Abraham and his children, sharing in the rich nourishment from the root of God’s special olive tree.

Can You Handle A Good Blessing

Good Afternoon Beloved,

Happy Friday!

I remember a book a few years ago by Bishop Jakes called, “Can You Stand To Be Blessed”.  In it, he tackled the hidden issues found within ‘good blessings’.  Things that most people don’t think about as they are petitioning God.  I know people right now who are praying and asking God to make them financially able to be a blessing to others.  I believe their heart is in the right place, because I see how generous they are right now.  What they have received over the years, they share with so much joy.  Their desire is beautiful and truly reflects the heart of God.  The issue is, that no matter your motives, there are those who will not celebrate your success and wish you well.  On the contrary, there will be people who may roll their eyes and suck their teeth behind your back.  They may accuse you falsely of thinking you are better than they are since you “have a little bit of something”, and “forgetting where you came from”.  They may live in your house, trash it, and then spread lies about you to people.  All of this I have witnessed happening to sweet people with big hearts.  That being said, we are not to fear. Know that the desire of your heart is coming, and prepare your spirit and mind for what will come along with it.  You will see who your ‘true’ friends are by their level of excitement over what God is doing in your life.  Your enemies will also be exposed, but didn’t God say to love your enemies?  Things are happening at lightening speed these days.  Each day holds a wealth of possibilities, we should have prepared for the day before.  We may be “wild” as the scripture above tells us, but we are blessed — doubly blessed, with a rich spiritual inheritance and the blessing that God promised Abraham and his children.
