And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
[Romans 8:28]
The Glass: Half Full or Half Empty?

Good Morning Beloved,
An age old question. How one answers is a good indication of where they are at that moment. Also, how we treat that question in our everyday lives is important. Is my bank account half-full or half-empty. Is my ‘love’ tank half-full or half-empty. My capacity for patience and understanding… half-full or half-empty? A positive answer speaks to our trust in a living God who promised to give us hope and a future. Remember, “Now faith is the substance of things ‘hoped’ for, the evidence of things not seen”… “For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man sees, why does he yet hope for? [Romans 8:24]. God will, and He does take care of us. We may not understand His ways at times, but then the bible is very clear that “His ways are not our ways”. He is Infinite. He knows everything. We only know what we know. Our information is limited and sometimes downright faulty. Ever misunderstood a situation, or misread the intentions of another person? We all have. God doesn’t make mistakes. Everything He created has purpose and value …even those pesky mosquitoes. My grand-mother and I were watching television once, and someone made a comment that our appendix was useless. This was back in the early ’80′s. Grandma was never one to pass up an opportunity to teach me. She said, “It has a purpose, they just don’t know what it is yet, but God put it there for a reason”. This morning I ran across this quote from a doctor who is a practicing gastroenterologist and nutritionist:
The appendix is apparently part of the gut’s immune system. For example, patients who have had an appendectomy have a higher incidence latter in life of a lymphoma called Hodgins disease than those who have not had an appendectomy. So much for the concept of a vestigial organ, as the appendix is now starting to gain some respect. (

So everything has a purpose. Whatever we have in our life right now has a purpose. Wacked out relatives, micromanaging supervisors, out of control kids, wayward spouses, lazy folks, as crazy as it seems, it may not BE good, but it will work out FOR the good. The problem is in the timing. It seems to take forever while we’re in it, but a resolution is coming and soon… hold on to the Word and promise of God. Trust that He knows what He is doing and He knows what we are doing. He sees the injustice, the pain, and He will deal with it in His time. Remember His vantage point is much higher than ours. If He tried to explain it to us where we are right now, we would not be able to understand, so He says ‘Trust Me’. I remember trying to explain to my cousin, who was a toddler at the time, why she could not take off her seat belt while I was driving. Nothing I said to her made any sense to her. She could not understand the danger. I loved her too much to give in to her desire to not be confined in her car seat. She wanted to stand and look out the back window. Finally, I firmly told her to sit in that seat and do NOT take off that seat belt… that worked. Now she is almost 6 and it is not as much of an issue, she puts on hers and makes sure everybody else has theirs on too. We are God’s ‘children’. Many times our perception is off, because we want, what we want, when we want it
. If we don’t get it, we get angry at life and angry at God and develop a ‘half empty’ mentality. When we change our mind, we can change our life… so here’s to half-full glasses!
But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.
[Hebrews 11:6]
