Holy Bible: Genuine Soul Food

So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves. The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions. But when you are directed by the Spirit, you are not under obligation to the law of Moses. When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God. But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things! Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there. Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives.

[Galatians 5:16-25]

“Don’t Forget to Feed Yourself ;)

Good Morning Beloved,

HAPPY FRIDAY!

Most people want to be loved and appreciated.  It is a basic human desire that resides in the core of all of us in some degree or other.  Like anything else, it can wreak havoc if out of balance.  A few of my precious young folks send up daily lamentations on Facebook of relationships and circumstances they have allowed to ruin their day.  Some reach out for prayer and counsel… some are just venting.  One young lady said that she felt like “giving up”.  I told her to “feed her spirit and her ”feelings” will catch up”.  That struck me as so powerful, I had to pause myself and stare at the keyboard.  I had one of those ‘AHA’ moments.  So simple, but yet so profound.  I’ve heard that statement before, I’ve used that statement before, but yesterday it became Rhema or “alive” in my spirit.  Yes!  Whatever we feed will grow.  If we feed our flesh, it will become a monster and devour us.  If we feed our spirit, our faith will devour our fears and the possibilities are endless.  Our God can do great and powerful things through us.  We see life differently.  We love differently.  Our priorities shift and life is a little sweeter.  Whether or not the situation changes immediately, we can change in our situation.  People are people and hurt people are dangerous… but so is the person who knows their God.  They are dangerous to the kingdom of darkness. Let’s resolve today to feed our spirit, connecting our heart to the heart of God and to love somebody off of Hell’s path today.
