About Me
I was born to a beautiful single lady, named Elnora in the turbulent 60’s, Washington, DC. My dad, Reginald
was a gifted bass guitar player, from a family of musicians. He passed away a few days before my 16th birthday (his funeral was on my birthday). My mother, not wanting me to grow up in the city, sent me to live with my Grandmother (her mom), in the country while she made a better life for us, when I was 5 1/2 years old. “Ms. El Nore” (Elnora)
was a tough country lady, who kept a loaded rifle on the kitchen table, and knew how to use it, if occasion called for it (That was before safety locks, I just knew not to touch it). I lived there for 10 years… scared of everything that moved. I never got used to the wildlife of the country. During the summer, before starting 11th grade, I moved back with my mother. I would have probably gone completely wild, but God sent me a friend, Tina,
who was a “straight arrow”. She kept me out of a lot of trouble. I’ve always loved to talk and write so my cousin Sacah Hosea Teeus, persistently insisted that I take theater courses at his school. In September 1985, I enrolled in the National Conservatory of Dramatic Arts. God used a gift that I grew to love for His service. I graduated May 6, 1988. In October, 1988, I gave my heart to Jesus and became a member of St. John Christian Power Center Ministries (Bishop Cornell R. Hughes and Pastor Angela A. Hughes)
. After all these years, I am still there serving as one of the elders, psalmist with the Worship Team, Theater Ministry coordinator, and camera operator. I have also served as a Prison Ministry Coordinator. I have ministered in drama since 1990, and have been inspired to write five plays (Can We Really Expect A Miracle?, Thief In The House, What Will You Do With Jesus?, Gift From the Garden, and Heart of a Daddy) as well as numerous songs. Over the years, I have worked in varying capacities in the theater (actor, stage manager, director, producer, cheographer, psalmist, writer etc.). I have also been privileged to work with several fine ministries in the Washington Metropolitan Area; Sister’s Circle Theater (aka “Children of the Light Theater”), Jesus: The Spiritual Connection Outreach, Arlene Ross-Davis Music Ministries, God’s Best Productions and Not Without Christ Drama Ministries (now known as “DreaMinistry”. April 11, 2000, I started my drama ministry “Love, Peace and Wisdom Productions”, December 2002, the name was officially changed to “Regal One” and here we are. I am blessed. God gave me an absolutely precious jewel, my daughter Jah… now in college
. My favorite scripture is Ephesians 3:20 “Now to Him who is able to do exceeding, abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus.”
