Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creation: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
2 Corinthians 5:17

Old Stuff…

Good Afternoon Beloved,

“Welp” … 2010 is winding down.  It, like all of its predecessors was a year of tragedy and triumph – joy and sorrow, happiness and pain.  Our circle mourned the passing of a dear friend, Leon Hunt, and a precious little girl, Brianna.  Our family welcomed a beautiful new addition, our little cousin “Tierra”, and two sons were born in our church family, “Emari” and “Zyion”.  Life is full of such paradigms… love in the midst of hate ~ life in the midst of death.  While we’ll never forget those who have transitioned out of this life and into the next, we celebrate our new arrivals.  There is a strong sense of hope and expectancy with the birth of a child.  As it is in the natural, so it is in the spiritual.  Each and every one of us -fellas and ladies-are pregnant! CONGRATULATIONS! We are pregnant with twins purpose and destiny.  Our purpose is that thing God blessed the earth with us to do. Whatever that is.  It is up to us to find out from our Holy Daddy, what that is.  Our destiny will never be complete, until we reach our destination… heaven.  Until then, we are on a wonderful journey.  Some legs of the journey are difficult, others wondrous.  God promised that He would “never leave, nor forsake us“.. so He is with us each and every step of the way.  There are twists and turns along the way.  Obstacles block our path at times. Mountains seemingly appear from out of nowhere.  In those times we need to know on whose authority we do what we do.  Jesus told His disciples that they were going to go to the “other side“.  Yes the storm came up, but it could not overtake them.  Why?  Because, Jesus had authority over the elements and He said they were going to the other side.  We are about to go to the “other side” of a brand new year.  It is not too early to really take stock of our life and decide what we will, and will NOT take over with us.  Some attitudes, bad habits, negative thoughts, toxic people, need to be left on this side … 2010. In fact, why not get an early start.  We need to purpose (there goes that word again), in our heart that we will focus on that which edifies the body of Christ, points the unbeliever to the risen Savior, and leads us toward fulfilling the call God has placed on our life.  Don’t fret over old issues, old mistakes, old challenges, old set-backs, old set-ups.  Leave that old, dry, crusty, musty stuff in the past.  It happened.  You did it.. they did it.. all God’s children did somethin’, but remember~

“…all things work together for the good of them who love GOD, to them who are the called according to His purpose”   (Romans 8:28)

The question is, what are we gonna do NOW.  Learn from the cruddy stuff and move UP, or wallow in past regrets and let them suck us under, and steal our mission and our joy.  “The Thief comes to steal”, Jesus came that we “might have life and life more abundantly”.  So when the enemy comes and tries to whisper in your ear, things in your past, simply remind him of his future… You are an over comer.  You’ve made it this far by faith, and God will take you to an even higher place in Him.. trust.

.. and that Beloved child of the Most High God.. is Good News!

Life and More Life

So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world. Let there be tears for what you have done. Let there be sorrow and deep grief. Let there be sadness instead of laughter, and gloom instead of joy. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up in honor. Don’t speak evil against each other, dear brothers and sisters.  If you criticize and judge each other, then you are criticizing and judging God’s law. But your job is to obey the law, not to judge whether it applies to you.  God alone, who gave the law, is the Judge. He alone has the power to save or to destroy.  So what right do you have to judge your neighbor?  Look here, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we are going to a certain town and will stay there a year. We will do business there and make a profit.” How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow?  Your life is like the morning fog—it’s here a little while, then it’s gone. What you ought to say is, “If the Lord wants us to, we will live and do this or that.”  Otherwise you are boasting about your own plans, and all such boasting is evil.  Remember, it is sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it.

[James 4:7-13]

Good Morning Beloved,

I love the balance in the scripture.  It does not leave us to believe that we have no personal responsibilities when it comes to living right.  However, it does not constantly condemn us as if we have no hope either… balance.  It is designed to get, and keep us on the right track.  Now, Brother James did not bite his tongue did he?  Sounds like a little wake-up call for us to get our ‘house’ in order.  Our office is mourning the sudden passing of a great lady today, a precious lady named Nancy Elfstrom.  Nothing puts life into prospective more than the passing of another individual.  I just saw her Friday.  She was looking well, perky and smiling.  She has been consulting with the company off and on since the ’90s.  She LOVED coffee, and I made sure she had it everyday.  She would always smile and tell me how grateful she was.  She would stop by my desk and just start talking, always asking if she could do something for me.  She was just such a sweet person.  We just found out this morning that she died on Sunday.  News travels slowly around here.  She will be greatly missed.  The brevity of life.  We do not know the day or the hour when we will pass from this life, to life everlasting, but we know the One who does know.  That is the reason, He is urging us to live.  Not just exist from day to day, but really live.  Jesus said that He “came that we might have life and life more abundantly“.  That means life here, and life after we cross over the threshhold.  There is a reason we were birthed into the earth.  We have a God given purpose and destiny…

…. and that Family is Good News!

U Blessed

Have A Fabulous Day

Killer Dog
-Romans 8:13

116 of 116

Sin may seem harmless when Satan tries to sell it to us. But it will soon grow into a devouring monster, that will eventually kill us, if we don’t, by the Spirit, kill it first.

Leap of Faith
-Acts 4:12

Living in the Sin building may seem pleasant for a while, but it’s a firetrap, and eventually, it will burn around you. Thankfully, there is a way of escape: the saving grace of Jesus.

Dinner Bell
-Luke 14:17

The good news is that, through Jesus, everyone is invited to take a seat at the table of God’s blessing. We need to be telling the world about the blessing Christ has provided for them.
