And seeing the multitudes, He went up into a mountain: and when He was set, His disciples came unto Him: And He opened His mouth, and taught them, saying, Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.  Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.  Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.  Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.  Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for My sake.  Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.  You are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted?  It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.  You are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.  Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it gives light unto all that are in the house.  Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.

Matthew 5:1-17]

Good Morning Beloved,

Blessed to be a blessing…

bless⋅ed [bles-id; especially for 3, 7 blest]
–adjective
1. consecrated; sacred; holy; sanctified: the Blessed Sacrament.
2. worthy of adoration, reverence, or worship: the Blessed Trinity.
3. divinely or supremely favored; fortunate: to be blessed with a strong, healthy body; blessed with an ability to find friends.
4. blissfully happy or contented.
5. bringing happiness and thankfulness: the blessed assurance of a steady income.
What comes to your mind when you hear the word ‘blessed’?  Do you consider yourself blessed?  Is there something in you that says, “you know if I only had _____, I would be really blessed”.  Or, “Man, Sister Got-It-Going-On is rich… she is blessed”.  Sometimes our focus needs a little ‘tweaking‘.  The older saints used to sing, “count your blessings, name them one by one, count your many blessings, see what God has done”.  I remember a lady at church many years ago who was envious of another sister in Christ.  She saw this beautiful sister’s amazing voice, her anointing and her attractive husband.  What she didn’t see was that this lady’s husband struggled with addiction, she had serious financial problems and other issues at home.  She was blinded by a faulty perception of someone else’s life.  She could not see that she herself was blessed.  Abundantly blessed with a relationship with the God of her salvation, good health, a loving family, a loving close-knit church family and a good job.  She allowed jeolousy to enter into her heart, and she missed an opportunity to get to know a fabulous lady.  Sad.  How many missed opportunities have slipped right through our fingers, because we never stopped to assess where we really are, and what we have right now.  How many people say, “I can’t wait for this baby to be able to feed herself”, and then, “I can’t wait for this baby to walk”, and then, “I can’t wait until this child gets out of school and gets a job”, and then become depressed when they’re on their own.  Time goes by way too fast.  I can honestly say that I enjoy all of the phases of my family.  I can remember Jah’s childhood check-ups, and sitting in the doctor’s office for what seemed an eternity.   I would look at my sweet little bundle of joy and say to myself, “enjoy this time, because it won’t last forever”.  Now my little bundle stands taller than me and will be 21 in two months.  Pause… breathe… pray… you are one blessed individual.  You are stronger than you were… wiser… richer in the knowledge of who God is.  Sharper… more stable, focused and better equipped to handle all that God is about to do in your life … God is just good like that, and in the words of Christian Comedian Marcus D. Wiley of the Yolanda Adams Morning Show….

“IIIIIIIIIIIIIII KNOW HE’S ALRIGHT!!!!!”

U Blessed! … remember… you are a joint-heir with Jesus.

Double Honor…

Instead of shame and dishonor, you will enjoy a double share of honor.  You will possess a double portion of prosperity in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours.
[Isaiah 61:7]

Good Morning Beloved,

Happy Monday!  Yesterday I was privileged to witness our church honor a great woman… my mother.  It was a reminder of what true greatness is.  There are many people who have done much for the upbuilding of God’s Kingdom and to ease the suffering of humanity all over the world.  We hear of multi-millionaires and well-known celebrities and athletes.  Missionary’s who have left the comforts of home to spread the Gospel all over the world, in some of the most remote parts of the globe.  Many people doing wonderful works, and walking in their destiny.  Yesterday, it was good to see an unsung hero rewarded openly for what she has done mostly in secret for years.  She got an opportunity many do not.  She was able to ‘smell her flowers’.  I’ve been to many funerals where people say the most beautiful things about the deceased.  I always wonder if the person ever got to hear any of this while they were alive.  She was blessed by many tributes, tears and prayers.  My goal is to let everyone around me know how much they mean to me and how special and unique they are.  Purpose to leave nothing unsaid or undone.  Yesterday, many people braved the heat (and it was a sauna in there), to stop by and just say thank you.  It was a promise of God that I saw fulfilled in my mother’s life yesterday.  Double honor.  It was worth more than gold.

What “goes around comes around”.  We truly ‘reap what we sow’ and everybody wants a good harvest.  We get a good harvest by sowing good seed, in good ground.  It needs sun and water.  So do we.  We grow in the Lord because the ’Son’ shines through us, as we’re constantly cleansed by the washing of the Living Water … the Word of God. The dirt in our life, as unfortunate as it may have been, only helped us to grow and learn. Side note: my grandmother used to say, “soap and water will clean anything”… cleaning is a specialty of Jesus.  I don’t think it is for nothing that Jesus washed His disciple’s feet.  Everything He did had purpose, and was given as an object lesson for us.  And now we are in a position to minister to that area in someone else’s life because we know from experience.

Blessed to be a blessing…

And it came to pass from the time that he had made him overseer in his house, and over all that he had, that the LORD blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake; and the blessing of the LORD was upon all that he had in the house, and in the field.

[Genesis 39:5]

“Blessed to Be a Blessing”

Good Morning Beloved,

 Happy Monday!

For the outside observer the story of Joseph is one of the most confusing scenarios in the bible.  Here you have a boy whose only real crime was being born to the favored wife.  His daddy doted on him and his brothers hated him.  On top of an already tense situation, God starts to give him dreams where he is lord over his family, and perhaps unwisely, he tells his brothers.  They decide to get rid of Joseph and end up selling him into slavery.  He is sold to Potiphar, captain of Pharaoh’s guard.  Potiphar held a lot of power and prestige, but Joseph’s arrival did something to his household.  The bible says that Potiphar’s house prospered because of the blessing of God that was on Joseph.  The change had to have been radical for anyone to even notice.  Joseph was elevated over the house to the point that Potiphar did not even know what he had.  He completely trusted Joseph.  I believe God does the same with us today.  We are all strategically placed whether we are working in the White House or the House of Pancakes, we are there for a season and a reason, and God will bless that establishment because we are there.  I’ve found that when our season is over at a place, it is over.  We may be ‘down-sized’, or the company may go under, but basically that closed door, is another door opening someplace else for us.   I’ve been there.  At the time, it is uncomfortable and scary.  Our heart screams, “God, what is going on?  I have bills, family, living expenses!  I need a job!”.  God knows our needs before we ask.  While we are squirming under the pressure, the way is already made.  Sometimes we know the answer, but we don’t like it, so we drag our feet through that door.  Once we submit our will to God, and acknowledge that His ways are not like our ways… once we realize that He knows what He is doing because He knows the whole story, and we only know a fraction of it … a large part of the struggle is over.

Father God, in the Name of Jesus.  Forgive us for any way that we have fought against Your will for us.  You know what we are made of.  You know what we are capable of doing through You.  We know that You have a purpose and a mandate on our life.  A destiny that will affect many others.  You have called Your church to be a lighthouse in the middle of dark stormy waters, leading the lost to You.  May we realize that You have already stamped Your blessing on us.  A blessing meant to be a blessing to somebody else.  Father help us to see Your assignment for us today…in Jesus beautiful and matchless name.. amen.

Bread of Life
-2 Corinthians 2:14
2 of 120

Jesus said in John 6:36 “I am the bread of life”. It is up to the believers to take the Bread of Life (Jesus) out of the Bakery (the church building), to where the hungry people are. After eating “Satan’s Garbage”, the aroma of the Bread of Life will certainly smell good.

Even in the midst of a stormy sea of trouble, we can have peace in Jesus, a peace as solid as a rock. But if we give in to worry and fear, we will be in danger of sinking.
