A merry heart does good like a medicine, but a broken spirit dries the bones.

[Proverbs 17:22]

****************************

Let them praise His name in the dance: let them sing praises to Him with the timbrel and harp.

[Psalm 149:3]

Good Morning Beloved,

This is the day that the Lord Has made, let us REJOICE and be glad in it!  Happy Monday people of God!  When that Word becomes alive in our spirit, we will never have another blue Monday for as long as we live.  When we see each day as a gift from God, pregnant with possibilities, saturated in His grace and moving us one step closer to His divine purpose for our life… we’ll become excited about each and every day we have.  Bored?  Feeling as if life is somehow passing you by?  I understand.  That simply means that you are being prepared for something you can’t see right.  Something so awesome that it would probably terrify you if God were to show it to you right now.  Be encouraged.  Whatever we do today it should be to the glory of God.  Every “performance” in our stage of life should be played for an audience of One.  At the end of the day, if God is pleased with us… that is really all that matters.  His Word says that if He is pleased with us, He will MAKE even our enemies to be at peace with us.  That is awesome.  We have His Word and His Spirit at work in us.  Our Lord Jesus is seated on the right hand of the Father constantly making intercession for us.  The angels of the Lord are encamped around us protecting us.  Our prayers go us before the nostrils of God like sweet perfume.  We are some blessed somebodies!  When we think of all that He is and all that He has done it’s enough to make you ….
DANCE!!!!!

DANCE!

Good Morning Beloved,

HAPPY FRIDAY!

Did you know that there was a time period in the history of humanity where dancing was pretty much considered un-Godly.  In the not so distant past, it was considered ‘worldly’ and ‘of the devil’.  Some churches allowed the “holy dance”… you know, the popular chicken-like marching dance affectionately called ”the shout” (that dance and its accompanying beat is all over the world!).  The bible never made a distinction in dance styles … the people danced.  It never said what kind of dance.  We are born dancing.  Ever watch a baby.  Before they are ‘taught’ how to dance, they are moving.  Even if all they can do is to kick their feet and wave their arms.  No music has to be playing at all… they have the music in them.  Nothing special has to be happening, they just start dancing.  A young daughter of a friend of mine used to dance while she was eating.  Dancing indicates joy… pure joy.  Happiness has to lean on what is happening at the time, while joy is God given and always in us.  Sometimes we need to remember it’s there and activate it.  I’ve discovered that dancing is a way to do that.  A well known Evangelist told of a couple he observed in church.  He invited the people to dance before the Lord. The man, who had just became a Christian, grabbed his wife and they began to dance ballroom style right at the altar.  Hey, he said dance why not?  I’ve heard people say they can’t dance… that’s not true.  You may not be ready to enter a competition, but if you are blessed with “the activities of your limbs”… “2 left feet” or not, you CAN dance.  Dancing is good stress reliever, great for the body, mind and soul…. so let’s celebrate God and His gift of life to us and resolve to cut a rug!

…. Beloved that is Good News!

You are my hiding place; You will preserve me from trouble; You will surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah.
[Psalm 32:7]

Never Stop Praying, Always Believe

Good Morning Beloved,

Happy Friday!  Music can be destructive… music can be constructive.  It is like a weapon.  Depending on how it is used, it can feed the depressed teen with thoughts of ending his life, or lift a persons spirits and give them hope.  When I listen to Israel Houghton’s “Just Wanna Say”, it instantly brings a smile to my face.  There are also songs that grate my nerves.  It is amazing the places within us that music can touch.  God knew this, and that is what makes this verse so beautiful.  He is the beautiful melody that encompasses our heart.  His Words bring life and peace.  I’ve always encouraged my daughter to pay attention to song lyrics.  She would use the typical, “I just like the beat” .  Whether or not we consciously ‘hear’ the words, they have a tendency to seep into us.  Ever started singing a song and wondered where it came from.  I mean, you haven’t heard the song in years and suddenly it “pops” into your mind.  Well, it had to be in there, in order to come out.  Sometimes, God will give you your very own song, or place a tune in your heart as a way to encourage and strengthen you.  Singing and dancing are woven throughout the tapestry of the Bible, because the joy of the Lord is our strength.  We are a people of purpose and destiny.  We have cause to celebrate.  We serve a mighty good God!

… that Beloved is Good News!

… so don’t be scared to get to movin’!

Arise!

Arise, shine; for your light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon you.

[Isaiah 60:1]

Good Morning Beloved,

Happy Tax Day!

(SMILE)  Arise!  I love that simple phrase.  It is gentle, but insistent.  Full of hope and promise.  I’m reminded that God’s Word never tells us to do something that is impossible for us.  God is just, and He knows what we’re made of.  Arise.  God has endued us with strength from on high to arise out of whatever we’re lounging in.  Whether it is despair, loneliness, self-pity, laziness, fear, wrath, hopelessness… whatever it is arise.  Jesus asked the lame man at the well, if he wanted to be healed.  The man had lain there at the spot where miracles occurred for 38 years.  It seemed like a weird question to ask an infirmed man.  The obvious answer was yes.  Who wants to stay weak and sickly.  Yet, it was a critical question, because sometimes we have to do something we don’t necessarily want to do, to get the outcome we desire.  It will cost something.  At the very least trust and then effort.  Trust in the God who gave the directive.  The more we begin to trust God in an area, the clearer we hear His will for us.  We start to hear our ‘marching orders’ and we start to move in the direction we need to go.  Make the phone calls we need to make, visit the places we need to visit, gather the information that we need, prepare ourselves for where we’re going.  We want that promotion, we may need to start dressing like we already have it.  We want to sing… start singing.  Dance?  Start dancing… in church, in the community, in the living room.  Got a burning Word in your heart that you know is from the Living God, tell somebody.  Don’t wait for a spot to open up in the pulpit.  Your gift will make room for you … Arise!

…. and that Beloved is Good News!

U Blessed

“DANCE! The Joy of The Lord Is Your Strength”

Written by FAVORED1 on March 23, 2009 – 2:10 pm -

Holy Bible: Genuine Soul Food

Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our LORD: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.

[Nehemiah 8:10]

“DANCE!  The Joy of the LORD is Your Strength”

Good Morning Beloved,

HAPPY MONDAY!…   MySpaceGraphicsandAnimations.org

I’m feeling this one… “The joy of the Lord is your strength”.  That is so true!… a joy that just doesn’t make sense.  A joy about everything and nothing in particular.  Joy in the midst of struggle, joy in the midst of a “dry spell” where nothing seems to be “happening”.  I’ve learned to cherish the ‘feeling’, because circumstances try to numb our emotions, but the ‘joy’ is always there.  Sometimes the ‘fire’ of joy needs to be stoked.  What brings joy to your heart?  Where is that place that you can go physically, spiritually or emotionally that sets your spirit ‘right’? I can be in a really foul mood, and someone can say something, I start laughing and it’s over.  Doctors are learning more and more, what has been in the bible for centuries…

A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.

[Proverbs 17:22]

I included a YouTube collage of  ‘Dancing Saints’ and, one of the ones that blessed me was a man dancing in his kitchen.  I’m not ashamed to say… I’ve been there.  Yep…dancing in the kitchen. I don’t know why we dance, I just know that whatever the circumstances good or bad, dancing is a release.  I find it interesting that dancing crosses cultural and racial divides.  One thing that our technology does is allow us to peek into cultures we may not see in our everyday surroundings.  As a Christian, it fascinates me to see churches in countries all over the globe, singing some of the same songs, and doing very similar dances.  Our expressions of worship, praise and adoration of our king… different and yet the same.  Not everyone is going to understand, that is fine.  Remember, David’s wife didn’t understand why her husband – the glorious King of Israel- was dancing in the streets like a peasant.  In her eyes, he shed his dignity, along with his priestly garments.  David, was excited because the ark of the covenant… the Word and promise of God, had returned to Israel. I don’t know what kind of dance it was, but whatever it was it was intense.  He was so happy that he came home bearing gifts, but was met at his own door with disapproving eyes and a critical spirit.  Ever had days like this.  You’re in a good mood, minding your own business, and here comes a wet blanket trying to dampen your spirit.  Well, we don’t have control over what someone throws at us, but we do control what we carry… and what we throw back.

… That Beloved is Good News…

U Blessed!

Oil of Joy
-Isaiah 61:3

Like the Tin Man from the Wizard of Oz, the storms of life can leave us broken, and it can be tough to continue. But God provides us the oil of His joy, to heal our hurts, and allow us to move on in Him.
