And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his GOD.

[1 Samuel 30:6]

Encourage Yourself!

Good Afternoon Beloved,

Ever had a day like that one… well, this is the day the Lord has made!  Happy Friday!!!… Oh my goodness the forecast is looking a little crazy DC/Metro.  15 Inches of snow are you serious?!  You know we shut down after 3 inches! LOL!…. Today, the thought hit me that somebody may feel a little under-appreciated, a little taken for granted… undervalued… well… I got a Word for you… encourage yourself.  I suspect that more people appreciate you than you even know about…. (me for one… I appreciate you… seriously I really do).  But even when you’re confronted with the feeling, you have the ability to encourage yourself in the Lord.  Remind yourself that you are fearfully and wonderfully made… That you are a child of the Most High God with vision, purpose and destiny.  That God has invested treasure in your earthen vessel.  You are the apple of His eye and He loves you beyond comprehension.  Your are not just loved, but greatly beloved and part of the Royal Family of the ages.  Greatness is on you and within you.  Am I trying to “pump you up”?… maybe…is it working?  Well, it just so happens to be true.  We are complex individuals… servants, children, royal heirs, vessels all of that rolled into one.  God’s very own…

… that Beloved is Good News!

The Power of Encouragement…

This is a trustworthy saying:

If we die with Him, we will also live with Him. If we endure hardship, we will reign with Him.  If we deny Him, He will deny us. If we are unfaithful, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny who He is. Remind everyone about these things, and command them in God’s presence to stop fighting over words. Such arguments are useless, and they can ruin those who hear them.

[2 Timothy 2:11-14]

Good Afternoon Beloved,

Paul was not writing this sitting on a beautiful vista overlooking the ocean, while sipping on a virgin pina colada.  He was writing this from prision.  Not only that but he was chained and in prison. There was no cable television, no bunk beds, no rights… he was a prisioner.  His crime?  Preaching the Good News of Jesus–a living Savior that came to bridge the gap between God and man.  Believe it or not there are thousands alive right now who are being imprisoned all over the world for the exact same “crime”.  Paul could have thrown himself one large of a pity party. Instead, he used his ‘downtime’ to write and encourage his young protege’ Timothy.  Timothy loved God and had been raised in a Godly home.  No doubt, after seeing what happened to Paul… Timothy was scared. Paul did not hide the cost of serving the Lord from Timothy.  He told him how he was treated, but he also let him know what an honor it was to suffer for the sake of the Gospel. Paul reminded him that the prison was temporary, but God’s kingdom is eternal.  He helped ‘unentangle’ Timothy’s conflicting emotions.  He was a friend as well as a mentor.  Wonder who God has placed around us.  I personally believe that God has placed people in our path, and has put a Word in our mouth for them.  That is an awesome thought, and a huge responsibility.  May we never miss an opportunity to bless someone’s life, and possibly change their destiny.

… WHOA!  That beloved is Good News!

U Blessed

Oh… I receive a lot of good stuff online and every now and again I see something I feel I must share… This one is from Rex Barker:

Rex Barker [RexBarker@Joke-Of-The-Day.com] here with “Untangling Your Life” sent in by Lila S from Pittsburgh

In the San Francisco Chronicle a few years ago, you would have read about a female humpback whale who had become entangled in a web of crab traps and lines. The fifty-foot whale was weighted down by hundreds of pounds of traps that caused her to struggle to stay afloat. She also had hundreds of yards of line rope wrapped around her tail, her torso and a line tugging in her mouth.

A fisherman spotted her just east of a local island chain and called an environmental group for help. Within a few hours, the rescue team arrived and determined that she was so bad off, the only way to save her was to dive in and untangle her – a very dangerous proposition. One slap of the tail could kill a rescuer.

They worked for hours with curved knives and eventually freed her. When she was free, the divers say she swam in what seemed like joyous circles. She then came back to each and every diver, one at a time, and nudged them, pushed them gently around – she thanked them. Some said it was the most incredibly beautiful experience of their lives. The guy who cut the rope out of her mouth says her eye was following him the whole time, and he will never be the same.

This is Rex Barker hoping that you and all those you love, be so blessed and fortunate this year-to be surrounded by people who will help you get untangled from the things that are binding you.

Bread of Life
-2 Corinthians 2:14

2 of 116

Jesus said in John 6:36 “I am the bread of life”. It is up to the believers to take the Bread of Life (Jesus) out of the Bakery (the church building), to where the hungry people are. After eating “Satan’s Garbage”, the aroma of the Bread of Life will certainly smell good.

Dynamite
-Mark 11:22

The power of God can remove any obstacle that is preventing you from getting to where God wants you to be. Our faith allows God to release His power in our lives, to remove the mountains in our way.

Peace Rock
-John 16:33

41 of 116

Even in the midst of a stormy sea of trouble, we can have peace in Jesus, a peace as solid as a rock. But if we give in to worry and fear, we will be in danger of sinking.

Oil of Joy
-Isaiah 61:3

44 of 116

Like the Tin Man from the Wizard of Oz, the storms of life can leave us broken, and it can be tough to continue. But God provides us the oil of His joy, to heal our hurts, and allow us to move on in Him.

Ranger Rescue
-Isaiah 52:7

52 of 116

This cartoon is an encouragement to the church to get out of the “ranger station” of the church building, and up on the “mountain” of the world, where people are in need of rescue.

Steamboat
-1 Corinthians 15:58

Here’s to all of the people who work behind the scenes in the church, doing those jobs that may go unnoticed. Your work is just as important to keep the church moving forward.

If we offer ourselves in service to the Lord, He already knows just the right place we are best suited for.

Hold On!

Written by FAVORED1 on June 27, 2008 – 6:55 am -

Good Morning Beloved,

HAPPY FRIDAY!    You made it!  Enjoy your day today.  I pray that your foundation is sure….. solid, so that you will be able to stand through any situation…. weather any storm… hold on to your faith… There is a song by Sound of Blackness “Hold on, change is coming, don’t worry about a thing”… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H0DsQT6AQB0  How do you hold on to your faith?  By using the same tenacity we use with everything that is important to us.  Long ago, someone called me a pit bull…. they said, “when you lock onto something you won’t let go.”  Of course that has had its share of positives and negatives.  Negative when I locked onto something, I should have been loosed from, but positive when I have stood against obstacles that were placed in the way of my assignment.  Wisdom, determination, and passion submerged in righteousness will bring you into the fulfillment of your God-ordained destiny.

‘And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that reads it. (Habakkuk 2:2)’

U ARE BLESSED!

Have A Fabulous Day and a Rockin’ Weekend

Cartoonist’s Comment:

God has a purpose and a plan for each of us, and in Christ, He has already given us all that we need to fulfill that plan.
