Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the Feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.
Luke 8:35

And, behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue: and he fell down at Jesus’ Feet, and besought Him that He would come into his house:
Luke 8:41

And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ Feet, and heard His Word.
Luke 10:39

Good Morning Beloved,

For as long as I can remember, the word “feet” would send me into a fit of giggles.  Even now it brings a smile to my face.  Why?  I have no idea.  The word is just funny to me.  I woke up this morning and that was the first word on my mind.  Strange.  But then, I started thinking about Jesus, and in my mind’s eyes I could see all of the people who sat at His Feet.  Just listening.  Absorbing all that He had to say.  We have the benefit of 62 books of scripture that let us know that Jesus is the Son of the Living God.  The people of that day, saw a Man unlike any man they had ever seen before.  Their heritage was rich with great men of God.  Their patriarchs Abraham, Issac and Jacob.  Great kings like David and Hezekiah.  Powerful leaders like Moses and Joseph.  Astounding men of favor like Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and Abedigo.  Even in the memory of these great men, they sensed something different about this ‘man’ called Jesus.  Never had they heard His Wisdom and knowlege.  Never had they seen a man of His strength, and meekness.  He was authoritative, yet kind and compassionate.  They had never seen anyone make the lame to walk, the blind to see, and the deaf to hear. They never seen anyone heal leprosy and raise the dead with the touch of His hand or a Word from His Lips.  They heard about Elisha telling Naaman to dip in the Jordan.  They knew that the power wasn’t in Elisha, but in Elisha’s God.  This Jesus fellow had power in Him!  It made people want to be close to Him.  To follow Him wherever He went.  In these verses, we see three very different individuals.  The “demoniac” in the tombs, Jairus, a ruler in the synagogue and Mary. Each had different issues.  Each developed their own relatioship with Jesus.  Each was delivered and helped.  The demoniac was set free and was able to leave the graveyard and go home .. clothed.  Jairus’ daughter was raised from the dead and restored back to her family. Mary’s beloved brother Lazerus was also raised from the dead.  At the feet of Jesus, there are answers.  At His Feet, there is peace.  At His Feet there is joy.  At His Feet there is acceptance.  The thing about being at someone’s feet is that it indicates a surrendered, humbled heart.  All pride is gone.  Everytime we pause to read and study God’s Word, we’re sitting at Jesus’ Feet.  When we bow our hearts to pray before Him, we’re sitting at Jesus Feet.  At the end of the day, when our bodies are tired from the days activities, just before sleep overtakes us, as we whisper a Word of thanksgiving and praise to our Lord… we’re sitting at Jesus feet.  One day, those beautiful Feet are going to step out of eternity and into time and call His church home.  Those whose feet walked with Him in the Spirit, will finally be able to walk with Him side by side on streets of gold.

By My power I will make My people strong,
and by My authority they will go wherever they wish.
I, the Lord , have spoken!”

[Zechariah 10:12  New Living Translation]

And I will strengthen them in the LORD; and they shall walk up and down in His name, saith the LORD.

[Zechariah 10:12 King James Version]

Good Afternoon Beloved,

I hope all is well with you … if it isn’t it soon shall be.  I like Zechariah 10:12 … especially the “walk up and down in His name” part.  You see, I had this crazy freak accident Friday night that landed me in the emergency room, and my poor foot in a splint.  This could not have happened at a more inopportune time, we have a production this weekend.  This stageplay is a phenomenal piece of work, because of the prayer, time, talent, love and energy that has gone into it.  Not going is not an option for me.  I remember so many other times, when the craziest things would happen right before ‘show-time’.  Theater Ministry, is ministry.  We have fun, laugh and cut-up, but understand, anytime God is glorified, people are edified, and the enemy is exposed, prepare for little hindrances.  I hold to what I was taught long ago by my theater school teachers, “the show must go on”.  That old adage is not just good to remember in theatrical circles.  That “stick-to-it” attitude is necessary in whatever we do.  Many people give up to easily.  Discernment is crucial.  It will let us know whether, to hold on like a pit bull, or let the thing go.  As children of God, we may be down, but we are never ever, ever, ever out…. know that!  As long as there is life in us, things can and do change.  Seasons come and go.  For those who do not like Winters on the east coast… hold on spring is right around the corner.  For those who do not like the rainy, pollen-saturated days of Spring… hang on, hot Summer is coming, and just when we think we are about to roast alive… here comes cool, laid back Fall.  Seasons change, situations change.  Our natural environment thrives best when all of the seasons operate together in harmony.  The same with our ‘seasons’.  If things are too easy all of the time, we have a tendency to become lethargic, passive and unprepared.  If things are too harsh for too long, we become despondent.  God knows this.  He knows what we’re made of.  He knows what we need so much better then we do.  We need to develop a “bounce back” in us like the little weeble toys of old. Remember them, “they weeble-wobble, but they don’t fall down!” .

Each of us has our own destiny.  A path our Creator knew we could handle.  I have vowed not to waste any more time lamenting over what I have, or don’t have and what somebody else has or doesn’t have.  What God gave them, He gave them and jealously is unbecoming, and completely beneath a child of the King of Kings…. ‘isms’ and ‘skisms’ eat away at us, and make us weak … God said that He would make His people strong…

Shepherd’s Voice
-John 10:27
120 of 120

With all of the voices there are in our lives, from the television, radio, internet, etc. we need to remember to take time to listen to the voice of Jesus, our shepherd.
