Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falls; for he has not another to help him up.
Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
Coverin’ Friends
Hello Beloved,
What a beautiful snowy day! Yes. I know we get a lot of flak from our northern brothers and sisters, on how we handle snow and ice here, but oh well… it is what it is
. Despite it all, the majority of our office showed up for duty today. Go DC! Today, I have been thinking of the worth of good, Godly friends. They are simply priceless. I had one of those weekends where I just needed to vent. Now, you can’t vent to just anyone. One of my friends, just blew off the situation… he didn’t get it.. and that was fine. It takes a special person to handle your ‘not so good stuff’ with grace, love, and discretion (Thanks Tina, Thanks Arlene
). My friends were amazing. My irritation was nothing earth-shattering. Most people would have probably thought it was nothing to even be upset over. To my friends though, they made me feel as though it was the most crucial matter in the world. They listened, and offered their take on the matter. I left the conversation feeling so much better. Like I had fallen into a ditch, and they helped me out of it. Sometimes, that’s all we need. The situation did not change overnight, but my prospective did change. I believe that is why one of the first comments God made about man, was that it was not good for him to be alone. God provided a helper for Adam … Eve. However, even for singles, this rings true. It is not good for anyone to be alone. It is a wonderful feeling to know that someone has our back, the same as we have theirs. God is our best friend, whether or not we know it, but I believe the good friends we have, demonstrate physically, the principles of what God is to us spiritually… loyalty, trustworthiness, honesty, realness.
… and that Beloved… is Good News!
U Blessed

An Attitude of Gratitude
Written by FAVORED1 on November 25, 2008 – 10:10 am -Tuesday, November 25, 2008
Sing unto the Lord with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God
Psalm 147:7

Good Morning Beloved,
I hope you’re having a beautiful morning. I received this little message from Rex Barker (joke of the day.com):
I woke up early today, excited over all I get to do before the clock strikes midnight. My job is to choose what kind of day I am going to have.
Today I can complain because the weather is rainy or I can be thankful that the grass is getting watered for free.
Today I can feel sad that I don’t have more money or I can be glad that my finances encourage me to plan my purchases wisely and guide me away from waste.
Today I can grumble about my health or I can rejoice that I am alive.
Today I can lament over all that my parents didn’t give me when I was growing up or I can feel grateful that they allowed me to be born.
Today I can cry because roses have thorns or I can celebrate that thorns have roses.
Today I can mourn my lack of friends or I can excitedly embark upon a quest to discover new job relationships.
Today I can whine because I have to go to work or I can shout for joy because I have a job to go to!
Today I can complain because I have to go to school or eagerly open my mind and fill it with knowledge and adventure.
Today I can dejectedly murmur because I have housework to do or I can feel grateful for shelter for my mind, body and soul.
Today stretches ahead of me, waiting to be shaped, and here I am, the sculptor who gets to do the shaping. What today will be like is up to me. And I shall decide what kind of day I shall have!”
This is Rex Barker asking you “How will you live TODAY?”. Try reading this every morning for a week, and see how you feel afterwards. And please share this and the other pieces for the week at your Thanksgiving table.
An attitude of gratitude. Regardless of what is going on around us, there is something to be thankful for. I am thankful for you. You mean a lot to me. You are a child of God, so that makes us family. Your natural family may not be the Huxtables, they may be more like the Addams Family, but they are yours. Make peace where you can, and realize that you do have a place in the Body of Christ. Your very own seat at God’s table.. you do know that God’s Words tells us,
|

|
“For He raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus.” {Ephesians 2:6} |
The bible declares that, “When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up.” (Psalm 27:10) You have a natural family (and some of us are blessed to have awesome families…..Elnora, Jah, Jacquie, Diane, LZ, Bev, Tina, Arlene, Shaun… much love
), great friends that are family. The Family of God – family all around you. It is said that this time of the year is the loneliest time of the year for many people. Considering the sheer numbers of lonely people, that is a shame… here’s a thought…. go on a people blessing mission

FAMILY….
Written by FAVORED1 on October 29, 2008 – 10:42 am -Wednesday, October 29, 2008
While He yet talked to the people, behold, His mother and His brethren stood without, desiring to speak with Him. Then one said unto Him, Behold, Your and Your brethren stand without, desiring to speak with You but He answered and said unto Him that told Him, Who is My mother? And He said, Behold My mother and My brethren! For whosoever shall do the will of My Father which is in heaven, the same is My brother, and sister, and mother.
{Matthew 12:47-50}
Good Morning Beloved,
No Jesus did not suffer from amnesia… He knew them, but His point was about relationship. From a spiritual standpoint, we are more connected to our brothers and sisters in the Lord, then to our flesh and blood. Remember, we’ll be with them forever… literally… Don’t worry, won’t be no ‘mess’ in heaven… so it will be awesome, glorious, gonna blow your mind
. You’ll be really happy to see them. It is a double blessing when our family members are also children of God. Many people suffer needless loneliness. They may not have any relatives. Their people may live too far away to visit, or they are estranged from them. God knows that there is a part of the human spirit that needs kinship. We were not created to be little islands unto ourselves. What did God say about Adam? He said, “It is not good that man should be alone” (Genesis 2:18). God fashioned Eve from Adams’ rib, and BAM! the first couple, then came Cain and Abel and the first family was born… the prototype. If you have a close-knit family unit that loves God and each other that is beautiful, praise God for what you have. Recognize that not everyone enjoys that. I pray for every person that longs for a loving family. I pray that they see those around them, that can speak into their lives. People who can be a ‘big Mama’, ‘Pop Pop’, sister, or brother in their lives. God is the fulfillment of our ultimate need. However, we have a space that desires human companionship. Remember also, that God has blessed each one of us to be a special part of someone else’s life as well. For example, a Godly person with no children, can be an ideal candidate to help the young people around them. They can also be a true God-send to a stressed out parent. Praise God for the many people who give of themselves on a daily basis. Great is your reward!
And that is good news!
U Blessed,
Have A Fabulous Day Family!

If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn’t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing. If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing. Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.
