Trusting A God Who Knows The Next Chapter In Our Story

So shall my word be that goes forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
[Isaiah 55:11]
Good Morning Beloved,
What a lovely day! My weekend was fabulous and I’m ready to tackle another week
. Yesterday at church, I was asked to teach Sunday School. I taught on the Book of Ruth. You know me, I love a good romance story
. Well, I glazed over a thought that has stuck with me since yesterday. We as bible students, have an advantage over the folks in the bible. You know what that is? We know what is going to happen next in their lives. Their story is written. In Ruth’s case there were 4 chapters in her story. Her story started out pretty normal, she marries a man from a foreign land, who served a God completely different from the one she was used to. That man and his brother die and she, her sister-in-law Orpah and her mother-in-law Naomi are left to fend for themselves. Her mother-in-law decides to move back to her homeland and Ruth steadfastly determines to go with her (Orpah goes back home to her people). Ruth finds a job in Naomi’s strange town. It is hard work and probably dangerous, but she does what she has to do to take care of her little family of two. She does not have the benefit of Chapter 4. She is living to survive day by day and suddenly… Boaz appears. Unbeknownst to her, Boaz has been watching her from a distance since her arrival. He has also been inquiring after her, protecting her and providing for her. She doesn’t see what is happening, but when she tells Naomi, Naomi understands. She knows that Boaz is interested in Ruth, and she makes it her business to play matchmaker. Using the law of their land, we see a deal being struck between the sweet, virtuous, lovely Ruth, and the gracious, God-fearing, wealthy Boaz. Not only that, but Ruth, born in a pagan, child-sacrificing land, was snatched out of obscurity, and placed right smack in the lineage of the Messiah. Her son Obed was the father of Jesse, and Jesse was the father of King David… and one of the titles of Jesus is the Son of David. Remember though, as she was living her life, she had no way of knowing that Chapter 4 was coming. Your Chapter 4 is on its way. I can say that with confidence because of what God said in Isaiah 55, what He said shall come to pass. It may not come the way we expect it… but it will come.
…. and that Beloved is Good News!
U Blessed
Have A Fabulous Day
