And the LORD was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. And Joseph found grace in his sight, and he served him: and he made him overseer over his house, and all that he had he put into his hand. And it came to pass from the time that he had made him overseer in his house, and over all that he had, that the LORD blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake; and the blessing of the LORD was upon all that he had in the house, and in the field.  And he left all that he had in Joseph’s hand; and he knew not ought he had, save the bread which he did eat. And Joseph was a goodly person, and well favoured.
[Genesis 39:2-6]

Do Your Best.. Let God Handle The Rest!

Good Morning Beloved,

I hope this finds you well.  Joseph is one of my favorite biblical folks.  His story is nothing short of miraculous.  It reminds me of a Lifetime movie.  Drama from start to finish.  Starting with the courtship of his mama and daddy (I mean the man kissed the woman and cried!), the love triangle between his parents and his aunt (weird!), his mom’s inability to conceive, his birth, a doting father, jealous brothers who sold him into slavery, his life as a favored slave, false accusations that led to his imprisonment, and the dreams he interpreted by the Spirit of God that led to his appointment as second in command over the land of Egypt.  WHEW!  What a life!  The common thread through this story is that we see Joseph as hard-working, strong, industrious and intelligent.  Everywhere he went, he rose to the top because of his diligence and the spirit of excellence he carried.  God honored him because whatever he did, he did well.  As the “favored” son, he could have skated by doing nothing.  As a slave and later a prisoner, he could have done “just” enough to not be killed. He could have adopted a “woe-is-me” attitude and said, why go ‘above and beyond’?  He could have staged his own silent protest to the injustice of his forced servitude.  There was something different in him.  He worked hard for his father, Potiphar and the jailer and finally, the Pharaoh himself.  He committed his tasks to God and governed himself accordingly.  So should we.  Whether or not we are working our “dream” job, we should treat it like it is.  Giving less than our best is not only cheating our employer, but our God.  He is the ultimate Judge.  He sees everything.  Remember the Word tells us:

And if you have not been faithful in that which is another man‘s, who shall give you that which is your own?

[Luke 16:12]

We are called to be wise stewards of all of our resources.  Afterall, we are to be a reflection of our Heavenly Father.  He is THE best, so our goal is to be THE best we can possibly be in everything we do.  I believe when we do, we actually bless our Father.

… and that Beloved is Good News!

Y Stress? … U Blessed!

Have A Fabulous Day

“The Lord’s Prayer”

…Jesus looked up to Heaven and said, “Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son so He can give glory back to You.  For You have given Him authority over everyone. He gives eternal life to each one You have given Him.  And this is the way to have eternal life—to know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one You sent to earth.  I brought glory to You here on earth by completing the work You gave Me to do.  Now, Father, bring Me into the glory We shared before the world began, “I have revealed You to the ones You gave Me from this world. They were always yours. You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your Word.  Now they know that everything I have is a gift from You, for I have passed on to them the message You gave Me. They accepted it and know that I came from You, and they believe You sent Me. “My prayer is not for the world, but for those You have given Me, because they belong to You.  All who are mine belong to You, and You have given them to Me, so they bring Me glory.  Now I am departing from the world; they are staying in this world, but I am coming to You. Holy Father, You have given Me Your Name; now protect them by the power of Your Name so that they will be united just as We are.  During My time here, I protected them by the power of the Name You gave Me.  I guarded them so that not one was lost, except the one headed for destruction, as the Scriptures foretold. “Now I am coming to You. I told them many things while I was with them in this world so they would be filled with My joy. I have given them Your Word. And the world hates them because they do not belong to the world, just as I do not belong to the world. I’m not asking You to take them out of the world, but to keep them safe from the evil one. They do not belong to this world any more than I do. Make them holy by Your Truth; teach them Your Word, which is truth. Just as You sent Me into the world, I am sending them into the world. And I give Myself as a Holy Sacrifice for them so they can be made holy by Your Truth. “I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in Me through their message. I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as You are in Me, Father, and I am in You. And may they be in us so that the world will believe You sent Me. “I have given them the glory You gave Me, so they may be one as We are one. I am in them and You are in Me. May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that You sent Me and that You love them as much as You love Me. Father, I want these whom You have given Me to be with Me where I am. Then they can see all the glory You gave Me because You loved Me even before the world began! “O righteous Father, the world doesn’t know You, but I do; and these disciples know You sent Me. I have revealed You to them, and I will continue to do so. Then Your love for Me will be in them, and I will be in them.”
{John 17:1-26}

“The Lord’s Prayer”

Good Afternoon Beloved!

Interesting… We were taught that the Lord’s prayer was ~

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name.

Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:

For Thine is the Kingdom, and the Power, and the Glory, for ever. Amen.

Actually, a more accurate description is probably the “Disciples prayer.  They asked Jesus how they should pray and He told them.  When our Lord Jesus prayed to the Father, this was what He said.  There aren’t enough words to adequately explain the magnitude of this prayer. He wasn’t only praying for the Disciples, He was praying for you and me… over 2000 years ago.  That is … wow… that is breath taking.  Powerful beyond words… not only is He praying for us right now at this very second, but He prayed for us two centuries before our arrival on planet earth.  He knew we were coming.  He knew what we would go through, He knew our first day here and He knows our last day.  He knows how many strands of hair we have on our heads (or lack thereof).  His prayer came from a deep place.  He knew that His time on earth was short and that He had much to accomplish.  His disciples did not understand Him, yet He had to prepare them for what was about to take place in their lives.  He needed them to be ready for the time when He would not physically be with them. Their faith would be tested severely, and they would face hardship and death from their adversaries.  He loved them. That love is evident as He pours out His heart to His Heavenly Father on their behalf. Lest we become consumed with the daily grind, and the constant bombarding of negative thoughts, and images thrown at us.  Or even the yearnings, insecurities and fears hidden within our own hearts, this snapshot in time is recorded in the Holy Scriptures to let us know that through it all –the good, bad and just plain ugly, Jesus is never far away… and He is praying for us.
