If My people, which are called by My name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from Heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Africans Pray for America

Contact: Shola Ajiboye, African Strategic Leadership Prayer Network, 317-418-4653, shola@aslpn.org
WASHINGTON, Oct. 5 /Christian Newswire/ – 50,000 people, Africans and Americans alike, are expected to descend upon the Capitol West Mall in Washington DC on Saturday, October 16, 2010 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. and participate in Africa Prays For America, a unique and unprecedented prayer gathering hosted by the African Strategic Leadership Prayer Network (www.aslpn.org).
African Strategic Leadership Prayer Network (ASLPN), an assembly of African Christian leaders from around the world, is a non-profit Christian charitable organization dedicated to prayer and intercession. The ASLPN said, “We are coming, leaders and lay people, we are coming from dozens of African Nations, we are coming 50,000 strong to petition heaven in unity. We, African believers, call all Christians to join us on October 16 to pray for America. May our light never go out.”

Billy Wilson, Executive Director of the Awaking America Alliance (www.awakeningamerica.us) said, “For hundreds of years, America has been sending missionaries to Africa. Passionate men and women gave their lives to reach souls thousands of miles away and continue to bring the gospel to millions in that heartland. But now, America’s light grows dim and it is Africa’s time to reach out and pray for America.” Wilson continued, “We are grateful for the African Nations response to America’s spiritual need and deeply encouraged by their desire to bring Christians together to intercede on behalf of America through prayer.”

Pastor Michael Dada from Deeper Life Bible Church (www.deeperlifedc.org) in Washington, DC, said, “The nation of America has been a blessing to almost every other nation under heaven at the peak of her glory. The poor and the weak, both as a nation and as individuals have all taken refuge under her protective wings.

“My church and I have decided to join Africa Prays for America,” Pastor Dada continued, “because we believe that God will have mercy and restore the spiritual, political, economic and social status of America for His glory. (Haggai 2:9) ‘The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the LORD of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the LORD of hosts.’”

ASLPN invites every tribe, every community, every church and every city to participate in Africa Prays for America on October 16, 2010.

Bishop Darlingston Johnson, Senior Pastor of Bethel World Outreach Church and Presiding Prelate of Bethel World Outreach Ministries International (www.bwomi.org), said, “We are gathering together the African Church to pray for this nation because more than ever America desperately depends on the prayers of the church.”

Good Morning Beloved,

The article above really caught my attention.  What blessed me was Billy Wilson’s comment that, “For hundreds of years, America has been sending missionaries to Africa. Passionate men and women gave their lives to reach souls thousands of miles away and continue to bring the gospel to millions in that heartland. But now, America’s light grows dim and it is Africa’s time to reach out and pray for America.”   We are a nation in crisis.  Sadly, many within the household of faith don’t realize just how much, and those who do, feel powerless to do anything about it.  Sometimes it is hard to see the forest for the trees.  In other words, many of us are under so much personal pressure and drama, looking outward is difficult.  Thank God He is raising up prayer warriors from the nations to stand in the gap.  Prayer is the most powerful weapons in our arsenal.  Communication with the God of our salvation.  Not just for our needs, wants and desires, but for the needs, wants and desires of others.  The greatest being salvation.  When we, “lift up our eyes to the hills”.. the source of “our help”, we will see a whole world, crying out for help.  We should already know how much God loves us.  We should know that nothing is impossible for Him.  We should already know that, “greater is He that is within us, then he that is in the world”.  We should already know that God is our defense, our strong tower, our exceeding great reward, our Lord, our Savior, our Master, our friend that sticks closer than a brother, our father, our brother, our true soul mate. We know who He is and now, it is our assignment to use what He has placed within us to share that blessing with somebody else. We are Children of the King.  A great responsibility, but what a great priviledge!

… and that Beloved is Good News!

TOUCHED!

And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraid.
[Matthew 17:7]

So Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes: and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed Him.
[Matthew 20:34]

And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean. And as soon as He had spoken, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was cleansed.
[Mark 1:4]

When the other disciples saw what was about to happen, they exclaimed, “Lord, should we fight? We brought the swords!” And one of them struck at the high priest’s slave, slashing off his right ear. But Jesus said, “No more of this.” And He touched the man’s ear and healed him.

[Luke 22:49-51]

“TOUCHED”

Good Afternoon Beloved,

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!

Everbody needs a touch from Jesus.  Did you notice that He touched those deemed “untouchable” but society’s standards.  From the lepers who were so feared they were put outside the city, to those who came to arrest Him, they all received a touch from the Masters hands.  His touch gave significance to the person touched.  He let them know that, not only did He see them, but that He cared about their situation enough to do something about it.  Can you imagine what was going on in the heart and mind of that soldier whose ear was restored.  He must have had some sort of conflict.  Here I am arresting this man, and He healed me.  I’m His enemy and He healed me.  My friend, we were in that same position.  We were enemies of the cross, but Jesus loved us.  He loved us then.. He loves us now.  I remember an old song, that said “Lay Your Hands On Me Jesus… I Don’t Mind”… awesome reminder.  When Jesus touches you, something happens.  Oftentimes when I’m praying for people who are going through horrific tragedy, I’ll ask Jesus to touch them.  I know that there is a pain that is so consuming, words aren’t enough.  Especially for the child of God who knows the Word.  Their grief can be so intense they can’t hear, but they can feel.  Jesus can touch that place in them that has been crushed and bruised we could never reach it.
The LORD is near to them that are of a broken heart; and saves such as be of a contrite spirit.
[Psalm 34:18]

God’s touch will bring that joy that is unspeakable! … oh .. and we can touch Him too… and when we touch Him… He’ll touch us back!

…. and that Beloved is Good News!

Strip it off and keep moving!

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.
[Hebrews 12:1]

Good Morning Beloved,

Happy Friday!  They say a picture is worth a thousand words.  Trust God and run on!  Anything that is weighing us down needs to be shed off.  A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength.” (Proverbs 17:22)  Ever notice how difficult it is to get motivated when you’re feeling a little down. There are people who just can’t seem to function due to a melancholy nature or oppressive circumstances.  Remember the Mary Poppins song, “a spoonful of sugar makes the medicine go down”… well, that can be a key ingredient.  In the middle of whatever is going on, there is something sweet somewhere… find it.   Somebody, somewhere needs what we have and when we sit on it, it doesn’t do anybody any good.  Remember this story:

There was an important job to be done and Everybody was asked to do it. Everybody was sure Somebody would do it.  Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.  Somebody got angry about that because it was Every body’s job.  Everybody thought Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that E
verybody wouldn’t do it.  It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when actually nobody asked Anybody.

Sometimes, speaking from personal experience, we have to shake ourselves loose from the chains of complacency.  God will not do it for us.  It would be lovely to know in advance exactly what God is doing and why, it would sure make our lives easier.  God is not interested in us living on ‘easy street’.  No one lives there.  Not even the fabulously rich and famous.  We see the glitz and glamour, but we really don’t know how they are living, until we are there.  The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence.  Ever stop to consider that maybe their grass is greener because there is more ‘mess’ over there.  What good is a 20 million dollar home if nobody lives there but the servants.  What good is a garage full of luxury cars and a closet full of designer clothes, if sickness, disease or addiction is consuming your body. What good is it, if you have a family that you can’t trust and no true friends.  We have lost many great celebrities over the past couple of months.  They left great possessions behind, but for their loved ones, nothing can replace them.  I’m sure Farrah’s son and Michael’s kids would much rather have their parent, then a house.  God knows how much we can handle.  At each new level, there is a new ‘devil’.  Something that we have never had to deal with before.  Ignoring it won’t make it go away..I’ve tried that.  Procrastination is not our friend.  It is a thief. Sin is our mortal enemy… that thing wants to kill us.  Kill our spirit, kill our good reputation, kill our hopes, kill our dreams, kill our self-worth, kill our relationships, kill our anointing, kill us mentally, spiritually, physically, emotionally, and psychologically. That little thing that doesn’t seem to be really all that bad, if fed will grow into a monster.  A good question to ask ourselves before doing whatever, is if we would continue to do it if Jesus Himself were to materialize in front of us at that second.  A sobering thought considering He is there.  Trust… strip… and lets go!

….Beloved, that is Good News!

U Blessed

 ______________________________________________________________________
Rex Barker (RexBarker@Joke-Of-The-Day.com) “Bridge Building,” sent in by George Z. from Milwaukee, WI

Once upon a time two brothers who lived on adjoining farms fell into conflict. It was the first serious rift in 30 years of living side by side, sharing machinery, and trading labor and goods as needed without a hitch. Then the long collaboration fell apart. It began with a small misunderstanding and it grew into a major difference, and finally it exploded into an exchange of bitter words followed by weeks of silence.

One morning there was a knock on the older brother’s door. He opened it to find a man with a carpenter’s toolbox. “I’m looking for a few days work” he said. “Perhaps you would have a few small jobs here and there. Could I help you?”

“Yes,” said the older brother. “I do have a job for you. Look across the creek at that farm. That’s my neighbor, in fact, it’s my younger brother. Last week there was a meadow between us and he took his bulldozer to the river levee and now there is a creek between us. Well, he may have done this to spite me, but I’ll go him one better. See that pile of lumber curing by the barn? I want you to build me a fence — an 8-foot fence — so I won’t need to see his place anymore. Cool him down, anyhow.”

The carpenter said, “I think I understand the situation. Show me the nails and the post-hole digger and I’ll be able to do a job that pleases you.” The older brother had to go to town for supplies, so he helped the carpenter get the materials ready and then he was off for the day.

About sunset when the farmer returned, the carpenter had just finished his job. The farmer’s eyes opened wide, his jaw dropped. There was no fence there at all. It was a bridge — a bridge stretching from one side of the creek to the other! A fine piece of work, handrails and all — and the neighbor, his younger brother, was coming across, his hand outstretched.

“You are quite a fellow to build this bridge after all I’ve said and done.”

The two brothers met at the middle of the bridge, embracing one another. They turned to see the carpenter hoist his toolbox on his shoulder. “No, wait! Stay a few days. I’ve a lot of other projects for you,” said the older brother.

“I’d love to stay on,” the carpenter said, “but I have so many more bridges to build.”

This is Rex Barker, reminding you that many (although not all) of your conflicts are reconcilable. Often egos take over, and we forget what even caused the conflict in the first place. If you were sincere friends with someone before, maybe you should rethink the situation. In abusive or truly hostile situations, often the healthiest thing is distance from the other.

You are my hiding place; You shall preserve me from trouble; You shall compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.

[Psalm 32:7]

Good Morning Beloved,

Hallelujah, thank you Jesus

Hallelujah, thank you Jesus

Hallelujah, thank you Jesus

For all that You’ve done for me

Lord, You’ve been so good to me

You have given me the power to resist satan

You’ve given me the power to love my enemies

You have given me the power to get wealth

and You have given me the power to be holy, holy

(c)Regina Hockaday

That was the first song God inspired me to write as a new Christian many, many years ago.  It’s a song that springs up in my heart even now as an inner witness to the loveliness of God.  During times when I need to encourage myself, I have been given songs that nourish my spirit.  The writer of Psalm 32 understood that.  There is a power that music holds (positive and negative). Over and over in scripture we see people being encouraged to ‘sing’.  Even in the most precarious positions… in the midst of battle, internal struggles, feelings of helplessness, hopelessness… sing.  On bright sunny, clear days, when everything ‘feels’ right… sing.  Even for those who may suffer a little ‘tone deafness’… sing (or at least make a joyful noise)…”Sing to the Lord a new song”… Zephaniah tells us that God sings over us, when we sing back to Him there is a connection that is incomparable.

… and that my friend is Good News!

The Healer: Soul and Body

Written by FAVORED1 on June 26, 2008 – 6:34 am -

Good Morning Beloved,

How are you this morning?  I pray that the God of all power strengthen you, bless you and give you peace.  Kelly Price sings a song “Healing (For My Soul)”.  I heard it this morning and it has been echoing in my heart.  ”Jehovah Rophe” (Exodus 15:25-26) — God who heals.  Whether it is a spiritual or a natural healing… God is the ultimate healer.  Whether He chooses to use natural or supernatural means… all healing comes from Him.  Kelly’s song is so beautiful and so very honest.  A human heart humbled before a mighty God and asking for Him to heal her very soul.  Do you realize that there are people who have all sorts of physical ailments that can be traced back to a spiritual condition.  People bound in unforgiveness and hate because of something or someone that has wreaked havoc in their life.  There is a saying that not forgiving someone that has wronged you, or someone you care about, is like “drinking poison and waiting for the other person to die from it”.  Many times they have completely moved on, either unaware or not caring about what they did to you.  You are suffering with headaches, mood swings, weight gain, weight loss, anger, stomach ailments, etc…. and they seem to be just fine.  We need to call on The Healer.  We need a touch from our Heavenly Father that will heal us.  The next part may be a little harder..we also need to pray for the offender… ugghh!  You know I have to admit, confess and come clean here… I believe the bible from Genesis to Revelation as the Word of the True and Living God… I love God’s Word… however, I don’t particularly like some parts of the bible… (gasp!!!!)… yes…. for instance, But I say unto you, love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you” (Matthew 5:44).   Someone attacks me or someone I love… I want to retaliate…. slap them…. tell them off… something.  That is what my flesh wants but my spirit says,  “no… look deeper… hurt people ..hurt people…. how did they get that way? How were they raised?  Maybe they really don’t know what they are doing is offensive.  Who hurt them?   Pray that they come to know God as their Savior.  Pray that God deliver them and set them free… that they become what God intended for them to become……….. Will I be willing to let God use me in their lives?“……  WHEW!  I never want anyone to ever think it is easy to follow that mandate… but our God is so wise.  He knows that living a life where we “cast our cares on Him” and let Him be our “Vindicator” will afford us an opportunity to live a life of overwhelming peace, joy and “Godly contentment” (1 Timothy 6:6).

U Blessed!

Have A Fabulous Day! (and don’t worry about ‘haters’)

Cartoonist’s Comment:

Don’t let bad thoughts and feelings weigh you down. Dump them in the trash bin of forgiveness, and go on with your life.

Cartoonist’s Comment:

This verse, from the parable of the sower, depicts some of the things that Jesus says will keep the Word from growing and producing fruit in our lives.
