But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship Him.  God is a Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.

[John 4:23-24]

“Worship”

Good Morning Beloved,

Worship…  I had what can be best described as an ‘epiphany’ (The name “Epiphany” comes from the Greek word Epiphania, and means “to show, make known, or reveal.”) You know when something hits your spirit and you just can’t shake it.  An “Aha” moment.  On Saturday, my daughter was watching a particular singing group on television.  The basic tone of the song was the ever popular, “Ima do me” type of vibe.  It struck me what ‘worldliness’ is.  It is not clothes, hair, or music, it is a posture of the heart.  The foundation of life is based on two world views.  Two “Teams” if you will.  God’s team and Satan’s team.  You are either on one or the other.  Some think they can just ‘opt’ out and not choose either team, not knowing that they’ve chosen Satan’s team by default.  If we listen, really listen to people, it doesn’t take very long to discern which side they are on at that particular time.  A worldly point of view is anti-Christ.  I read an interesting conversation Jesus had with His disciples ~

And John answered and said, Master, we saw one casting out devils in Your name; and we forbad him, because he followeth not with us. And Jesus said to him, Forbid him not: for he that is not against us is for us. (Luke 9:49-50)

God is Creator.  The greatest Artist of all time… beauty personified… just look at a sunset.  There is nothing drab or boring in Him.  He is limitless.  Whether we’ve known Him 5 minutes or 50 years, we can never exhaust all that He is.  He is bigger than the box folks have tried to put Him in.  He has given us His Word and His Spirit.  The other thing that touched me was at rehearsal last night our Directress played a song called “Fly” (I added the video at the bottom) by Jason Upton.  I can’t describe how the presence of God saturated the place.  While it was happening, I was overwhelmed with the desire that everyone experience this level of worship.  There would be no room for doubting God.  Believers would REALLY believe Him, and unbelievers would believe in Him.  All of the squabbling would cease because they would seem so inconsequential.  Problems and issues would shrink in comparison to His greatness and we would echo Paul’s sentiments,
“Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For His sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ and become one with Him. I no longer count on my own righteousness through obeying the law; rather, I become righteous through faith in Christ. For God’s way of making us right with Himself depends on faith.  I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised Him from the dead..”  [Philippians 3:8-10]

In worship… pure, undefiled, holy worship…  there are no hidden agendas, no masks, just freedom. We enter into the presence of God, and we get a glimpse of heaven.  We touch Heaven, and Heaven touches us back!

“Well Done”

His LORD said to him, Well done, good and faithful servant: you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things: enter into the joy of your LORD.

His LORD said to him, Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of your LORD.

Matthew 25:23

Good Morning Beloved,

I felt the need to pause and reflect on those two little words… “Well Done”.  At the close of last night’s rehearsal, our Director, Minister Rhonda Belt, began her closing prayer strongly admonishing us to take inventory of our lives, and seek God like never before.  She reminded us that whether or not we live to see His appearing, we need to be sure that we are in right standing with the Lord.  Whatever we have to do.  “Well Done”..Soon those will be the only words in the Universe that will matter.  Not the stock market, fuel costs, contaminated foods, wayward children, frustrating spouses, political pundits, or Hollywood activists, but the words of the real Judge… “Well Done”.  We prepare for that day minute by minute, decision by decision.  Sadly, there are some who live careless lives, and do not think about this –until there is a death close to them.  I have videotaped services at my church since the ’90s.  I have hundreds of recordings.  A few of our members have since passed on, but I have them captured on film.  I look at them and marvel that this person, though no longer with us, is also waiting for that day.  Whatever choice they made to secure their eternal destiny is sealed — good or bad.  That is why each moment is so precious.  We all have areas in our life that need to be ‘straightened up’.  We all have struggles, habits, little idiosyncrasies, and downright sin… things that no one but God sees.  Things that we may try to justify as not being wrong.  (Side note: if God says it is wrong- it is wrong no matter how many people jump on the bandwagon, and say it’s ok–they don’t hold the keys to death, hell and the grave… Jesus does.  They are not the Door to Heaven… Jesus is).  We have now to get it together… that is how good God is to us.  I’m so glad God allowed me to live to see October 1988 when I truly gave my heart to Him.  He’s definitely not finished working on me, but I’ve come far, and I am trusting in Him to finish what He started.

And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue His work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.

[Philippians 1:6 New Living Translation]

On that great day
When He cracks the sky
When the world hears the trumpet sound
And the dead begin to rise
I wonder how it would be
Will I be walking down the street?
Will it happen right in the middle of the day?
Or at night when I’m asleep?

All I know is I want to be ready
I want to be ready
And I want You to say “Well done”
I just want You to say “Well done”

I can already see the signs
Each day the world is getting worse
It seems the earth itself is crying out
For someone to rescue her
The days are getting shorter
The years are passing by
It’s like I see the Lord preparing Himself
To come and get His bride

All I know is I want to be ready
I want to be ready
And I want You to say “Well done”
I just want You to say “Well done”

All I know is I want to be ready
I want to be ready
And I want You to say “Well done”
I just want You to say “Well done”

Enter into My joy, Servant, well done!
Enter into My joy, Servant, well done!
Enter into My joy, Servant, well done!
Enter into My joy, Servant, well done!
Enter into My joy, Servant, well done!
Enter into My joy, Servant, well done!

Well done, well done, faithful Servant, well done!
Well done, well done, faithful Servant, well done!
Well done, well done, faithful Servant, well done!

Before The Throne

Holy Bible: Genuine Soul Food

Thursday, December 11, 2008

It was in the year King Uzziah died that I saw the Lord. He was sitting on a lofty throne, and the train of His robe filled the Temple. Attending Him were mighty seraphim, each having six wings. With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they flew. They were calling out to each other,

“Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord of Heaven’s Armies!
The whole earth is filled with His Glory!”

Their voices shook the Temple to its foundations, and the entire building was filled with smoke.  Then I said, “It’s all over! I am doomed, for I am a sinful man. I have filthy lips, and I live among a people with filthy lips. Yet I have seen the King, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.” Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a burning coal he had taken from the altar with a pair of tongs. He touched my lips with it and said, “See, this coal has touched your lips. Now your guilt is removed, and your sins are forgiven.” Then I heard the Lord asking, “Whom should I send as a messenger to this people? Who will go for us?”

I said, “Here I am. Send me.”

[Isaiah 6:1-8 * New Living Translation]

Good Morning Beloved,

Access…. I never tire of that heavenly promise.  Access to the very Throne of God.  Every time we breathe a prayer of thanksgiving, every time we cry out to God in anguish over a person, or a situation, every time we pause to just bless His name with the fruit of our lips… our prayers are immediately transported to the very Throne of God!  Ahhhh… I don’t think we can ever fully comprehend the magnitude of that on this side of Glory.  My Bishop (Cornell R. Hughes, St. John Christian Power Center) preached a message years ago, “Behind The Scenes”.  If we could get a sneak peak behind the scenes, many of lifes’ aggravations and irritations would be less… well …”aggravatin’ and irritatin’ ().  I am completely amazed when people argue against the diety and reality of God… or ‘intelligent design’.  As complex and wonderful as the human body has been designed, the thought that we just happened… just sorta evolved from slime to apes to the glorius creatures we are.  They have way more faith than I.  That would be like me finding a beautiful pearl and gold cadillac (fully loaded, keys in the ignition, suitcases in the trunk, gold cross hanging from the rear-view mirror) parked at the beach, and saying that it evolved from something in the sea.  You would think I was either terribly mistaken at best, or completely delusional.  We belong to a God who is Sovereign.  There is coming a day when every eye will see Him.  “Every knee will bow, and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the Glory of God the Father”.  The thing is not to be on the wrong side of the gate while we’re doing all of that.  Our ultimate desire is to meet Jesus in peace, as His friend and joint-heir, having poured out as much as He put in us on the earth as possible.  Every song, every dance, every piece of literature, every invention, every kind word, every good deed… everything that God has invested in us.  It will be an interesting feat that can never be done, but will be fun trying.  Why can’t it be done?  Because the more you pour out…. the more He pours in…

…. and that my friend is Good News!

U Blessed,

Have A Fabulous Day
