You will keep in perfect peace
      all who trust in You,
all whose thoughts are fixed on You!

[Isaiah 26:3]

Good Morning Beloved,

Life’s turns.  Some days it seems as though life is going along pretty good.  Maybe even a little mundane at times.  Some of us can get locked into a routine of work, home, store, church, school etc.  Then suddenly, something comes along that we were unprepared for, and it pushes us out of our rut, or our comfort zone.  It could be something good; a new job, a pregnancy, an unexpected raise, a marriage proposal, an opportunity to buy a new house, a large unexpected inheritance.  On the flip side, it could be a devastating loss of a person, or a possession.  God knew this, which is why He told us to keep our “mind stayed on Him”.  Did you know that some folks can’t handle a good ‘blessing’?  There are people who were pretty normal, and then after attaining a certain level of celebrity status, become almost unrecognizable from their former selves.  Many fall into patterns that become front page — addictions, lewdness, tattered relationships, and problems with the law.  So, should we not aspire to a better way of life?  Of course we should.  We should always want to become better at whatever it is that we do.  Gods Word clearly says, “Beloved, I wish above all things that you prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers” (3 John 1:2) .  Our soul needs strength to carry the weight success brings.  Our soul also needs strength to carry the struggles and hardships of life.  That strength can only come through a trust and dependence on God.  Getting to know Him, will cause us to trust Him more.  Saturating ourselves in His presence, immersing ourselves in His Word.  It should be as natural to us as breathing.  When ‘life’ happens … good or bad, we stand a better chance of ‘standing’ when we’re standing on the rock!

… Whew!  and that Beloved is Good News!

Perfect Peace in Imperfect Times

You (Oh Lord God) will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You: because he trusts in You.

[Isaiah 26:3]

Good Morning Beloved,

This morning my spirit was troubled by senseless recent murders, fatal accidents, tragic suicides reported by the news media in our area.  I was even more troubled by the fatal accidents, family illnesses, and financial stress that have occurred to people close to me — those never made the news.  I’ve heard some say that they don’t follow the news.  I try not to inundate myself with it, but I do watch.  However, I watch more for revelation, then information.  The news actually acts as a proofreader of the bible, a kind of time-line.  When we read the bible, the spirit of our news is jumping off of the page.  Things are happening now that my Grandmother talked about before she went home to be with the Lord in 1987.  At the time, I humored her (remember she was a great storyteller), but I really could not imagine some of those events actually happening … in real life.  She talked about how raunchy network television would become (she said they would be using those ’4 dollar’ curse words).  She talked about cloning (at the time the only thing we knew about cloning was what we saw in science fiction movies).  She said that man would not be satisfied until he made a man someday, that man wanted to play God, and that he would regret whatever thing he managed to create.  So far it is still considered dangerous and unethical because of the ‘risks’ (http://www.ornl.gov/sci/techresources/Human_Genome/elsi/cloning.shtml)She saw man becoming more and more hostile towards God and His people.

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. Most importantly, I want to remind you that in the last days scoffers will come, mocking the truth and following their own desires. They will say, “What happened to the promise that Jesus is coming again? From before the times of our ancestors, everything has remained the same since the world was first created.” They deliberately forget that God made the heavens by the word of His command, and He brought the earth out from the water and surrounded it with water.  Then He used the water to destroy the ancient world with a mighty flood.  And by the same word, the present heavens and earth have been stored up for fire. They are being kept for the day of judgment, when ungodly people will be destroyed.  But you must not forget this one thing, dear friends: A day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day. The Lord isn’t really being slow about His promise, as some people think. No, He is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent. But the day of the Lord will come as unexpectedly as a thief. Then the heavens will pass away with a terrible noise, and the very elements themselves will disappear in fire, and the earth and everything on it will be found to deserve judgment.  [2 Timothy 3:1-10]

************

You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good. They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God. They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly.  [2 Timothy 3: 1-5]

but the GOOD NEWS is that it also says:

But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the LORD shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it.  [Micah 4:1]

And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of My Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:  In those days I will pour out my Spirit even on my servants—men and women alike—and they will prophesy.[Acts 2:17-18]

God never changes … His Throne has never moved.  He is always there, always watching.  He is where He has always been and He is our anchor in the midst of stormy seas…

…and that child of the Most High God… is Good News!

STOP… DROP… and ROLL!

“STOP… DROP… and ROLL…”

*******

Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares about you.
[1 Peter 5:7]

*******

Good Morning Beloved,

Remember what they taught us in school.  If we were ever on fire, they told us to STOP, DROP and ROLL.  We were told that running only made the fire worse, but dropping to the ground and rolling would put the fire out.  Some of us have never been in a physical fire (thank God), but we are surrounded by spiritual, emotional, societal and metaphorical fires.  It could be having more bills than money, or a family that is torn in shreds, or severe health challenges.  Whatever the fire, S D & R is good advice.

STOP! … Take time to pray, meditate and think about the situation.  There is a better solution and sometimes it is easier then we thought.  Ever had an idea ’pop’ in your head, and said, “hmmmm…. why didn’t I think of that before!”.

DROP… Let some stuff go.  Whether it is a foul temper, a toxic relationship, or an unnecessary expense.

ROLL … it off of you and onto the Lord by faith.  Especially if it is something that you have no control over anyway.  We cannot control people, so if it is a person, pray and “roll” them over to the Lord. Do as much as you can, but realize that you are not their God and there is only so much you can do.

It will be spring soon, we can do some ‘spring’ cleaning early.  Not just the house and our closets, but our entire lives.  I was looking through a telephone bill recently, and realized that I have been paying for services in a package, that I rarely use and some of them I never use.  Time to ‘snip-snip’.  A good rule of thumb is, if the thing (whatever it is), has not been used in a year…. get rid of it.  We will find that we are carrying a lot of unnecessary weight (and not just on our body).  Ever lost a few pounds, and felt like you are breathing better… that is because you are.  When we drop whatever weight we are carrying, we will feel so much better and be able to focus on areas that were neglected when we were bogged down….

…. and that my friend is Good News!

U Blessed!

Don’t Worry

It can be easy to let yourself fall into the trap of worrying about money. We must learn to trust that God will take care of us, and provide for us, just as He takes care of the birds of the air.
