Even when there was no reason for hope, Abraham kept hoping—believing that he would become the father of many nations. For God had said to him, “That’s how many descendants you will have!” And Abraham’s faith did not weaken, even though, at about 100 years of age, he figured his body was as good as dead—and so was Sarah’s womb. Abraham never wavered in believing God’s promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this he brought glory to God. He was fully convinced that God is able to do whatever He promises. And because of Abraham’s faith, God counted him as righteous. And when God counted him as righteous, it wasn’t just for Abraham’s benefit. It was recorded for our benefit, too, assuring us that God will also count us as righteous if we believe in Him, the One who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. He was handed over to die because of our sins, and He was raised to life to make us right with God.

[Romans 4:18-25]

Hope When It Just Doesn’t Make Sense

Good Afternoon Beloved,

Hope is a powerful thing.  It is what gets some people out of the bed in the morning.  The hope that this day will be better than yesterday.  For the Believer it is another powerful weapon in our arsenal.  I don’t see it yet… been waiting a loooong time, but I still have hope.  I truly believe when we stop hoping, we dry up like fruit on a dying tree.  Abraham’s story is remarkable in that it resembles our story.  Granted, none of us has had a child at 90 or 100 like Sarah and Abraham, but some of our promises may have felt like we’ve waited that long at times.  Plugging along at our job while people come in and are promoted right over our heads.  At times having to train the very people who will become OUR supervisors.  You wonder when is it going to be my turn?  So we read the “self-help” books on becoming a “go-getter”, how to get the job you want in 1 day, putting your best foot forward, how to be a millionaire in 30 days.  We change our wardrobe, our hair, our attitude and still no change in our situation.. then one day..BAM! something happens that totally changes your situation and you get what you’ve been praying and believing for all that time.  I remember sitting in a Christian concert at the Holy Land Experience in Orlando, Florida last year just minding my own business.  Suddenly, the worship leader comes to me in the middle of ministering to tell me something that God had already told me.  I give God all of the praise.  This man didn’t know me… but God does… that was the whole point…God KNOWS me, and God decided to let everyone in the room know what He was about to do in MY life.  I reiterated what I’ve known for a long, long time.  God knows where I am (physically, spiritually and emotionally) and He knows where I am going.  He knows that plans that He has for me and He knows what it is going to take from me to get there.  You have the same testimony.  God will never do for us what He has equipped us to do.  It’s all part of His training and our “instruction in righteousness” (2 Timothy 3:16).  The bottom line is that knowing the character and nature of God is crucial to every Believer.  You would think that after all He has done, we would know, but life can hit us with so many sucker punches, it can divert our attention from our Source.  It is one thing to read about the trials and sacrifices of the saints in scripture and quite another to experience some of them first hand … aaahhhh but hope…

Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope

[Psalm 16:9]

Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.
[Psalm 42:11]

For thou art my hope, O Lord GOD: thou art my trust from my youth.

[Psalm 71:5]

Thou art my hiding place and my shield: I hope in thy word.
[Psalm 119:114]

I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope. [Psalm 130:5]

The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish. [Proverbs 10:28]

Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.
[Proverbs 13:12]

For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? [Romans 8:24]

etc.. etc.. etc..

….and that Beloved is Good News!

Y Stress? … U Blessed!

Have A Wonderful Evening

Hold On!

Written by FAVORED1 on June 27, 2008 – 6:55 am -

Good Morning Beloved,

HAPPY FRIDAY!    You made it!  Enjoy your day today.  I pray that your foundation is sure….. solid, so that you will be able to stand through any situation…. weather any storm… hold on to your faith… There is a song by Sound of Blackness “Hold on, change is coming, don’t worry about a thing”… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H0DsQT6AQB0  How do you hold on to your faith?  By using the same tenacity we use with everything that is important to us.  Long ago, someone called me a pit bull…. they said, “when you lock onto something you won’t let go.”  Of course that has had its share of positives and negatives.  Negative when I locked onto something, I should have been loosed from, but positive when I have stood against obstacles that were placed in the way of my assignment.  Wisdom, determination, and passion submerged in righteousness will bring you into the fulfillment of your God-ordained destiny.

‘And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that reads it. (Habakkuk 2:2)’

U ARE BLESSED!

Have A Fabulous Day and a Rockin’ Weekend

God has a purpose and a plan for each of us, and in Christ, He has already given us all that we need to fulfill that plan.
