Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes to the Father, but by Me.
[John 14:6]
Good Afternoon Beloved,
What a beautiful day! I pray your day is moving along wonderfully
. Recently, I found myself watching a television program where the host (a well known preacher), had been involved in some pretty public and scandalous behavior. This person has blessed my life in the past and I mused over the affect his private/public behavior has had on those watching him… especially those on the brink of making a commitment for Jesus. Like it or not, good, bad or indifferent… people are watching us. We are the only Bible some folks have ever seen. They want to see what kind of change can be made in our life from a book that is over 2000 years old, and a God that they cannot see with their naked eyes, or touch with their hands. That my friend is a huge responsibility. Then I had a thought. It is our goal to live a life pleasing to God. One that demonstrates His will, laws, and precepts as well as His heart. However, regardless of the vessel that is used, whether it is clean, dirty or in between, it is no poor reflection on our God. If Dr. X gives me a tour of the hospital, and shows me that there is only one exit door, I can’t get mad at him if during an emergency I try to find another door. If I perish, I cannot blame Dr. X’s raggedy life… he had shown me the door, it was my responsibility to walk through it. Remember, this:
“Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of My Father in Heaven will enter. On judgment day many will say to Me, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in Your name and cast out demons in Your name and performed many miracles in Your name.’ But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from Me, you who break God’s laws.’ (Matthew 7:21-23)
God is the ultimate judge. If someone is doing something crazy behind the scenes, and they have taken up residence behind that sacred desk… God sees. Our job is to pray for our brothers and sisters overtaken in a fault, love them, and to confront in love when led. It behooves us all to live for that audience of One. Some people may like it, but some may call you ‘holier than thou’, ‘prudish’, ‘narrow-minded’, ‘intolerant’ … whatever. Remember, just because misery loves company, that doesn’t mean we have to be the ones to entertain it
. Jesus is the WAY.. if we follow Him we won’t be lost. Some may have gotten a little confused, a tad ‘turned around’, but He said that He is “married to the backslider”. He hasn’t moved, He is where He has always been… waiting and calling…
… wow…. breathe… and that Beloved is Good News!
U Blessed!
Have A Fabulous Day!

Jesus: The Way, The Truth and The Life
Written by FAVORED1 on September 21, 2009 – 3:00 pm -Monday, September 21, 2009
Some Pharisees and teachers of religious law now arrived from Jerusalem to see Jesus. They asked Him, “Why do your disciples disobey our age-old tradition? For they ignore our tradition of ceremonial hand washing before they eat.” Jesus replied, “And why do you, by your traditions, violate the direct commandments of God? For instance, God says, ‘Honor your father and mother,’ and ‘Anyone who speaks disrespectfully of father or mother must be put to death.’ But you say it is all right for people to say to their parents, ‘Sorry, I can’t help you. For I have vowed to give to God what I would have given to you.’ In this way, you say they don’t need to honor their parents. And so you cancel the word of God for the sake of your own tradition. You hypocrites! Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you, for he wrote, ‘These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship is a farce, for they teach man-made ideas as commands from God.’ ”Then Jesus called to the crowd to come and hear. “Listen,” he said, “and try to understand. It’s not what goes into your mouth that defiles you; you are defiled by the words that come out of your mouth.” Then the disciples came to him and asked, “Do you realize you offended the Pharisees by what you just said?” Jesus replied, “Every plant not planted by my heavenly Father will be uprooted, so ignore them. They are blind guides leading the blind, and if one blind person guides another, they will both fall into a ditch.”
[Matthew 15:1-13]
“Jesus: The Way, The Truth and The Life”
Good Afternoon Beloved,
Jesus: The originator of “keeping it real”. Jesus is truth. The Pharisees and Sadducee’s of His day had a real problem with Him. They were constantly at odds. They wanted to keep their high positions and control over the people. They saw Jesus as a threat. Jesus read their hearts like open books. He had a way of shining the light of truth through them and revealing the real story. His Words cut through their vain religion like a knife … and they plotted to kill Him. Their dilemma? He was popular, and they did not want the tide of popular opinion to sway against them. They eventually set the stage where the people would turn against Him. They thought they were successful, but they were only used in God’s ultimate plan for the redemption of humanity. It was statements like the verses in the text, that made them angry. In that day, as it should be in this day, parents were honored and taken care of when they needed help. However, there was a common practice, where people would call something, “corban” or “a gift for God”.
… the Lord also used “Corban” speaking of those Jews that didn’t honour their parents. In essence what these Jews were saying to their parents was “whatever you could benefit from me, my property, my income, is Corban i.e. dedicated to God and I cannot give it to you”. This was a vow they used to do to avoid giving to their parents. They made a vow dedicating everything to God, and therefore they could claim that they had nothing to support and therefore no obligation for such support towards their parents. Jesus stripped the covers off of them, and exposed their hearts. He is still doing that today. He sees the motivation behind what we’re doing. His Word tells us to examine our hearts. For the person who has a heart and mind to seek God, Jesus will never turn away. His harshest criticisim comes not for those who are honestly ‘struggling’, but for those who have already determined in their heart to reject His will and His way. Those who have decided to follow that smooth talking criminal of old. The serpant is still talking today. His mouth is filled with deceit and mockery, but no matter how loud the lie, the truth will always be heard in the end.
…. and that Beloved is Good News…
U Blessed!
