Then Miriam the prophet, Aaron’s sister, took a tambourine and led all the women as they played their tambourines and danced.

[Exodus 15:20]

And David danced before the Lord with all his might, wearing a priestly garment. [Hebrew a linen ephod.]

[2 Samuel 6:14]

A time to cry and a time to laugh. A time to grieve and a time to dance.

Good Morning Beloved,

HAPPY FRIDAY!

Did you know that there was a time period in the history of humanity where dancing was pretty much considered un-Godly.  In the not so distant past, it was considered ‘worldly’ and ‘of the devil’.  Some churches allowed the “holy dance”… you know, the popular chicken-like marching dance affectionately called ”the shout” (that dance and its accompanying beat is all over the world!).  The bible never made a distinction in dance styles … the people danced.  It never said what kind of dance.  We are born dancing.  Ever watch a baby.  Before they are ‘taught’ how to dance, they are moving.  Even if all they can do is to kick their feet and wave their arms.  No music has to be playing at all… they have the music in them.  Nothing special has to be happening, they just start dancing.  A young daughter of a friend of mine used to dance while she was eating.  Dancing indicates joy… pure joy.  Happiness has to lean on what is happening at the time, while joy is God given and always in us.  Sometimes we need to remember it’s there and activate it.  I’ve discovered that dancing is a way to do that.  A well known Evangelist told of a couple he observed in church.  He invited the people to dance before the Lord. The man, who had just became a Christian, grabbed his wife and they began to dance ballroom style right at the altar.  Hey, he said dance why not?  I’ve heard people say they can’t dance… that’s not true.  You may not be ready to enter a competition, but if you are blessed with “the activities of your limbs”… “2 left feet” or not, you CAN dance.  Dancing is good stress reliever, great for the body, mind and soul…. so let’s celebrate God and His gift of life to us and resolve to cut a rug!

…. Beloved that is Good News!

You are my hiding place; You will preserve me from trouble; You will surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah.

Never Stop Praying, Always Believe

Good Morning Beloved,

Happy Friday!  Music can be destructive… music can be constructive.  It is like a weapon.  Depending on how it is used, it can feed the depressed teen with thoughts of ending his life, or lift a persons spirits and give them hope.  When I listen to Israel Houghton’s “Just Wanna Say”, it instantly brings a smile to my face.  There are also songs that grate my nerves.  It is amazing the places within us that music can touch.  God knew this, and that is what makes this verse so beautiful.  He is the beautiful melody that encompasses our heart.  His Words bring life and peace.  I’ve always encouraged my daughter to pay attention to song lyrics.  She would use the typical, “I just like the beat” .  Whether or not we consciously ‘hear’ the words, they have a tendency to seep into us.  Ever started singing a song and wondered where it came from.  I mean, you haven’t heard the song in years and suddenly it “pops” into your mind.  Well, it had to be in there, in order to come out.  Sometimes, God will give you your very own song, or place a tune in your heart as a way to encourage and strengthen you.  Singing and dancing are woven throughout the tapestry of the Bible, because the joy of the Lord is our strength.  We are a people of purpose and destiny.  We have cause to celebrate.  We serve a mighty good God!

… that Beloved is Good News!

… so don’t be scared to get to movin’!

Grace Radio
-Ephesians 2:8

Just as we cannot hear radio waves without a radio receiver, so we cannot receive God’s grace without faith, and that faith itself is a gift to us from God.
