All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the Heavenly realms because we are united with Christ.  Even before He made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in His eyes.  God decided in advance to adopt us into His own Family by bringing us to Himself through Jesus Christ. This is what He wanted to do, and it gave Him great pleasure.  So we praise God for the glorious grace He has poured out on us who belong to His dear Son.  He is so rich in kindness and grace that He purchased our freedom with the blood of His Son and forgave our sins.  He has showered His kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding.  God has now revealed to us His mysterious plan regarding Christ, a plan to fulfill His own good pleasure.  And this is the plan: At the right time He will bring everything together under the authority of Christ—everything in heaven and on earth. Furthermore, because we are united with Christ, we have received an inheritance from God, for He chose us in advance, and He makes everything work out according to His plan.

[Ephesians 1:3-11]

MY GOD…

Good Afternoon Beloved,

HAPPY FRIDAY! …AWWWW… I gotta do it.. gotta break out praisin’ Morris!  What an absolutely amazingly beautiful day!  I’m lovin’ the weather, but even more, I’m lovin’ what God is doing in me!  He is just so good to me.  In all my phases, facets, moods, temperatures.. glorious and inglorious.. He is just too beautiful for words!  I feel refreshed and invigorated.  I bless God for His bountiful blessings, that He has poured on me.  I wish I could properly articulate what I’m feeling right now as I listen to Trent Cory singing about the awesomeness of God.  I had never heard of this powerful worshipper before last night.  I was asked to sing with a choir in another branch of Zion.  The song selections were phenomenal.  I went to help out and to be a blessing, and I was the one blessed!

My God knows just what we need, exactly when we need it.  Lest we forget, we are children of the most high God engaged in a spiritual battle for the children of man.  The battle can get hot at times.  We may feel as though we’re on the front line, but even front-liners are given reprieves and pulled back to recuperate.  If we are constantly “giving out” without replenishing ourselves, we leave ourselves open and vulnerable for attack… from within as well as without.  Spiritual blessings… basically God touching us in places no human hand could ever reach… He chose us… He showered His blessing on us… He forgave us … He has a plan for us… He gave us an inheritance and He will bring everything together… Whoa! … As the psalmist, brother Cory said so beautifully… oh what a wonder You are God!

… and that Beloved is Good News!

Have A Fabulous Day and a Wonderful Weekend!

Do it big for Daddy!

Dancin’ With God! :0)

GOD’s thunder sets the oak trees dancing
A wild dance, whirling; the pelting rain strips their branches.
We fall to our knees—we call out, “Glory!”

Above the floodwaters is GOD’s throne
      from which His power flows,
from which He rules the world.

   GOD makes His people strong.
   GOD gives His people peace.

[Psalm 29:9-11]

Good Evening Beloved,

Sorry for the lateness — had all sorts of meetings today.  Just wanted to touch base and quickly say that GOD IS GOOD!  He is gracious and all together lovely!  I love this verse.  Man!  God is so great, the trees are dancing! Even as their “branches are being stripped” they are saying “Glory!”  WOW.  That reminds me of us.  Praise is not only beautiful in the sight of God, it rejuvenates us.  Worship brings us closer to the heart beat of God… Praise allows us to dance with God…. (ummph … pause).  Dance with God.  It stands to reason if God sings over us as stated in Zephaniah, that He can dance with us as well.  That floors me.  He is great.  Admittedly, we tend to overuse that word, but when we pause to really ponder on the wonders of God… words become almost inadequate and we do the best that we can.  He makes His people strong… meaning if you feel weak, not a problem.. He can MAKE you strong.  For those who are going through all sorts of turmoil… He will give you peace in it and bring you through it.  For those who are experiencing a season of abundance, and material prosperity, He will also give you peace so that you can not only enjoy it, but have the wisdom with it.

… and THAT Beloved of God… is Good News!

Good Afternoon Beloved!

Sorry for the delay… technical difficulties.  Yesterday we commemorated a day set aside to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.  All over the airwaves, I heard snippets of his timeless “I Have A Dream” speech.  I remember hearing his daughter, Rev. Bernice King say that her father was a prophet.  It was as though her were looking down the annals of time and letting us know what was coming.  I believe he saw the day and time that we are living in, but I believe he would have loved to have been able to experience some of the fruits of his labor.  The Bible is honest and balanced.  It lets us know that every day will not be sunny, and that we will not always “tiptoe through the tulips” or “lie on a flowery bed of ease” as my mother and grandmother used to say.  There will be difficult days, there will be days of preparation, (one of the most common complaints I hear from the young folks around me is that they are so “bored”.. I tell them they’re in prep time) there will be days so hectic we may feel as though we’re drowning.  Hold on… God did not bring you this far to leave you.  He is right by your side, no matter what you’re going through.  He gave us a dream.  Something to keep the fire burning with our hearts.  Something to give our life purpose and energy.  Age is no excuse to quit (you know who I’m talking to ahem… hint, hint ) … I often tell my friends that the “Five Blind Boys of Alabama” are still touring … after 55 years… so we have no excuse!  My sister-in-Christ Melanie Best is a prolific playwright and author.  She has a new play that will be performed at her church on February 7th called “Blessed and Highly Favored”.  It is an absolutely powerful production that deals in a sensitive manner with childhood bullying, low self worth and suicide.  There is a line in there that I really love and it has stuck with me.  A child asked why she couldn’t have the finer things in life if her mother’s dreams had really came true.  The wise mama tells her that “some dreams are for ourselves, some are for other people and some are for the whole world to benefit from, but the dream that comes from God will turn out just right”.  What a Truth!  No matter what it looks like in the natural, remember, “faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen”.  Trust God and hold on to your faith.  He is “well able to do exceeding, abundantly above all that you can every ask or imagine” … keep your dream alive…guard it from the assassins that have been sent by the destroyer to kill it.  “Fight the good fight of faith.”  Remember that “the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds.”  We are “over-comers”!!! … I peeked at that end of the book and uhhhh…. we WIN!

Breach of Security

Written by FAVORED1 on December 17, 2009 – 1:04 pm -

Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his clothes not be burned?

Can one go upon hot coals, and his feet not be burned?
[Proverbs 6:27-28]

“BREACH OF SECURITY”

Good Morning Beloved,

A few years ago, I went with a friend to home depot.  On my way out, the alarm sounded.  I looked at the security guard… he looked at me.  It was summer time and I had on a tee shirt, stretch pants and sandals (hey we were at the home depot ;0).  I went through several times before someone suggested I look at my feet.  Sure enough a sensor was stuck to my shoe.  The guard told me that he had wondered what was going on … I didn’t even so much as have a purse.  That little bitty piece of plastic told on me.  As small as it was, it created a sound that could be heard not only all over the store, but the parking lot as well.  I had ‘breached security’.  We have a similar mechanism in us.  The Holy Spirit.  The greatest Power in the universe… the power that created everything in eternity, adapted Himself to fit into our tiny frames!  Remarkable… mind-blowing.  Even more astounding, He has the power to turn us into a grain of salt if He wanted to, yet He respects our free-will so much that He will allow us to do what we want… even to our detriment sometimes.  His gentle voice warns us when we’re about to say or do something we shouldn’t.  He will minister to our heart and mind when we’re about to cross the line.  Reminding us in a split second of the fact that there are consequences for each and every action… good and bad. There are those who ask why God can’t stop war, famine, disease… well, He can. I always want to ask that person, why didn’t God stop you from cheating on your spouse, cursing out the people on the highway, lying on your taxes, and stealing that grape from the produce department.  Seems like certain folks like to pull out that old argument, but when they open that box a whole lot more falls out than they anticipated.  They have one finger pointed at God, but the other four are pointed back at them.  They would say, “yeah, but those are little things, they don’t mean much”We judge situations on that scale… God’s scale is different… stealing is stealing.  That grape may not mean much to you, but it is worth something to the store.  What if everyone who entered the store that day took one grape… how many would be left at the end of the day?  It is a heart issue… no matter the size of the infraction. The blessed part is that through it all… bottom line… God still has His Hand on the control… humanity would have completely annihilated itself by now otherwise.

Remember ~

There has no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but GOD is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that you are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that you may be able to bear it.

[1Corinthians 10:13]

Heavenly security from on high… greatest safety and protection we will ever need … eternal and free!

What Do You Want? … The Price? … Belief ..

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believes on Me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto My Father.  And whatsoever you shall ask in My Name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.  If you shall ask any thing in My name, I will do it.  If you love Me, keep My commandments.

[John 14:12-15]

What Do You Want? … The Price … Belief ..

I’ll give you peace, when the storm is raging.
I’ll be your light when the road ahead seems dim.
I have the power. Just put your trust in me.
Anything you need, have faith indeed.
Just ask, Just ask In my name
Just ask, Just ask in my name

I am the Lord, I can move all mountains
I’ll be your strength, when you’re weary, weak and torn
Believe in my promise. cast all your cares upon me
Anything you need, have faith indeed.
Just ask, Just ask In my name
Just ask, Just ask in my name

Chorus
In my name all things are possible
I’m able to do the impossible
In my name all can come boldly before me
Yes in my name
I am the father, Just put your trust in me
Anything you need, have faith indeed
just ask, just ask in my name
Just ask, just ask

Chorus

There is power
Power in the name (repeat 2X)
joy, in the name (repeat 2x)
love, in the name (repeat 2x)
I’ve got peace, in the midst of the storm.
I’ve got pe-eace in the name.
I’ve got joy in my name.
I’ve got love, its all in the name.
If your looking for love its all in the name.
Just ask in my name

[In My Name, Milton Bronson and the Thompson Community Singers]

Good Afternoon Beloved,

What would you do if God walked up to you and said, “What do you want?” … What would you say?  Is any of us really prepared for that question?  Well, we should be… because He said it already.   If we believe in Him, we will trust Him.  If we trust Him, we will obey His commandments knowing that He will not ’steer’ us wrong.  His love for us is perfect and it is in that perfect love that fear is ‘cast out’.  When our existence is wrapped up in the love of God, we can ask for anything, because our heart will be so entwined with His heart that our requests are actually coming from Him… ummph… wow… (pause) …. that is our goal… with God all things are possible….

… and that Beloved is Good News!

Subject: A Message from Tyler Perry – We’re all PRECIOUS in His sight

Hi there.

I know I’ve been a little quiet lately but I’ve been in silent reflection, quiet meditation, and prayer. Turning 40 is such a blessing. Especially because as I child I always thought I would die before I grew up.

If life begins at 40, then I owe the little boy that I was my life. Case in point, not long ago, I was brought a film to watch to see what I thought of it. It’s called PRECIOUS, based on the novel PUSH by Sapphire.

I sat at home watching this movie not knowing what to expect. After the movie was over, I sat there for a long time just thinking about what I had just witnessed. I watched all the things that Precious, a 16-year-old girl in the film, went through. I watched her mother be unusually cruel to her and I realized at that moment that a large part of my childhood had just played out before my eyes. It hit me so hard, I sat there in tears realizing that somehow, by the grace of God, I made it through. My tears were tears of joy, being thankful that I made it.

Believe me when I tell you, PRECIOUS is a powerful film. After seeing it, I had to be involved. I didn’t write it or direct it, nor am I making any money from it. Oprah and I both are giving any proceeds we would make to charity. I just wanted to get as many people to see it as I can. It gave me so much hope after watching it. For everyone who has been a Precious, male or female, this movie will make you so glad you made it through.

It took me through some raw emotions and brought me to some things and
places in my life that I needed to deal with but had long forgotten. It brought back memories so strong that I can smell and taste them. Like, when I was very young, my mother decided to leave my father…she had had enough of his insanity. She loaded me and my two sisters up in an old Cadillac that he had bought for her, and drove to California. When he realized she was gone, he called the police and reported the car stolen, as it was in his name. My mother was arrested and my two sisters and I were put in the cell with her. He and my uncle drove from Louisiana to California to get us. We spent several days in jail waiting for him. He bailed her out and couldn’t wait to get her into the car. He got into the back seat with us and beat her black and blue from California to Louisiana, as me and my sisters watched.  Even though I was only two or three, I know that this had to have some effect on me.

I’m tired of holding this in. I don’t know what to do with it anymore, so, I’ve decided to give some of it away…

Memories at 40: Not long ago, I was asked to speak at an engagement. I
walked in and I was told that they had assigned a person to take care of me while I was there. She walked up to me, all of 5′2″ of her, and asked if I needed anything. I looked at her and started to sweat. It took me back thirty-something years to her apartment. I couldn’t have been more than 10 years old when I went over to play with her son and Matchbox cars.
She opened the door in skimpy lingerie. There was a man sitting on the couch, smoking. She told me that her son was in the bedroom. I was there
playing with him about 20 minutes when I heard the man arguing with her.
He said he was leaving and slammed the door. She came into the bedroom
and told me that I had to go home. She told her son to take a bath and she locked him in the bathroom. I was at the front door trying to get out, when she came in and laid on the sofa and asked me if I wanted the key. I told her I had to go home as it was getting dark. She put the key inside of herself and told me to come get it, pulling me on top of her.

Memories at 40: “What the f*#K are you reading books for?! That’s
bull*#*T!”

“You F*#*ing jackass! You got book sense but you ain’t got no mothaf*#*en common sense! You ain’t sh*t and ain’t never gonna be sh*t!” I heard this every day of my childhood. As my father would beat and belittle me, he played all kinds of mind games with me. He knew I loved cookies as a kid, most kids do. So he would buy them and put them on top of the fridge and when I would eat them he would beat me mercilessly.

My mother was out one night, as she loved to play bingo, and my father came home…mad at the world. He was drunk, as he was most of the time.
He got the vacuum cleaner extension cord and trapped me in a room and
beat me until the skin was coming off my back. To this day, I don’t know
what would make a person do something like that to a child. But thank
God that in my mind, I left. I didn’t feel it anymore, just like in PRECIOUS. How this girl would leave in her mind. I learned to use my gift, as it was my imagination that let me escape.  After he was done with his rant he passed out. Since my aunt lived two doors down, I ran to her. She saw me and was horrified. She loaded her 357 and went to kill him. Holding a gun to his head, her husband came and stopped her.

Memories at 40: I got a call not long ago from a friend. He told me that a man that I knew from church when I was a kid had died and he didn’t have any insurance. His family was trying to reach out to me to see if I would pay for his funeral. I quickly said no, but I wish I would have said yes.  There is something so powerful to me in burying the man that molested me.  I wish I would have dug the grave myself.

Memories at 40: I was about 8 or 9 years old. I had a crush on a little girl across the street. She would come over to my house and we’d play.  She was about 12 or 13. One day she stopped coming and when I asked her
why, she told me that my father was touching her. I didn’t believe her, so I walked her into staying one night. We were both asleep — she was in one bed and I was in another. I opened my eyes to see my father trying to touch her and her pushing him away. I moved in my bed trying to make him think I was waking up. He looked over at me and left out of the room. Not long after that, he beat me mercilessly for something again. Another mind game set up, so I told my mother what he had done.  The blood drained from her face. We left that day. We were at my Aunt’s house and he came there about 1am. Not long after that we were back at home. Nothing would compare to the random, drunken, violent beatings I would receive from then until I was 19.

Memories at 40: We would spend the summers in the country, with my father’s adoptive mother. As a kid I was always sick. I had asthma and he hated it. He hated that I wasn’t strong and viral like him. He hated that I couldn’t be in the sawdust, pollen and the raw lumber like him.  He hated that I liked to read and write and draw. He hated that me and my middle sister were darker-skinned than him. He didn’t think he could make a dark baby. He just hated everything about me I guess. Anyway, I had to go to the doctor every Tuesday to get shots to control my allergies. When his mother found out she said, “Ain’t nothing wrong with that damn boy…he just got germs on him. Stop wasting all that money.”  When my mother left to visit some friends I heard what sounded like water running in a tub but it was sporadic. She came and got me out of the living room leaving my Matchbox cars on the floor. She said she was going to kill these germs on me once and for all. She gave me a bath in ammonia.

Grateful at 40: I was asked recently how I made it through all of this, (half has not even been told) and my answer to that is…I know for a fact that there is a GOD. When my father would say or do those things to me, I would hear this voice inside of me say, “That’s not true” or, “Don’t believe that” or, “You’re going to make it through this”.  I didn’t know at the time what “it” was, but today I surely have no doubt that “it” was GOD. That voice always gave me comfort. It allowed me to hold on. It kept me from being strung out on drugs, from dying when I wanted to commit suicide. It kept me from being a gang banger or drug dealer. Worse than all of those things put together, it kept me from being him. It brought angels to comfort me after every foul, harsh word
or every welt on my legs or back.  GOD, only GOD.

To know that the little boy that I was went through all that — he went through and made it. Then me, as a man…I have to take on the responsibility of forgiving all of those people. I owe it to that little boy that I was and, more than that, I owe it to the man that I am.  Think about it, as a child we have no recourse. We have nowhere to go.  We have to endure it. But as adults, we have choices. I choose to forgive with all my might. Forgiveness has been my weapon of choice. It has helped to free me.

If you’re having a hard time getting over something in your life, maybe you can try forgiveness too. It’s not easy, but it does bring forth healing. I know that there are a lot of people out there with stories far worse than mine but you, too, can make it. To those of you who have, welcome to life. I celebrate you. We’re all PRECIOUS in His sight.

Shake ‘em off!

Written by FAVORED1 on August 26, 2009 – 7:14 am -

Holy Bible: Genuine Soul Food

Wednesday, August 26, 2009

[Romans 13:12]

“Shake ‘em off”

Good Morning Beloved,

Short and sweet…. shake ‘em off… every hindrance, every encumbrance, every fear, every feeling of low esteem, helplessness, hopelessness, defeat.  Shake ‘em off.  Every device sent to hinder and destroy… shake it off.  Greater is He who is within us, than he who is in the world [1 John 4:4].  Our God is “able to do exceeding, abundantly above all that we could ever ask or think according to the power that works within us” [Ephesians 3:20].   The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance [2 Peter 3:9].  We are children of God, heirs of God, joint heirs with the king of kings Jesus.  All power is in His hand and He has delegated power to us.  He said that, “…these signs shall follow them that believe; In My name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. [Mark 16:17-20:].  We were given this challenge of growing in faith in 2 Peter 1:3-7, “By His divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence.  And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.  In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God’s promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love for everyone”.  We can do it!

Never pay back evil with more evil. Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honorable.

Romans 12:17

Good Afternoon Beloved!

What a beautiful morning!  It has been an unusually busy Monday around here.  I had the opportunity to live out this morning’s offering for real!  Being honorable… not rendering ‘evil for evil’.  Sounds really easy and noble on paper, but when it grows legs and we’re walking with it… it can be an entirely different thing.   Remember the song, “I always feel like somebody’s watching me”… well that is the truth.  We are Christs’ Ambassadors and the world is watching us.  My grandmother used to talk about the value in a name.  Whether it is our family name, or those who ‘name the name of Christ’, our name or our reputation should concern us.   We can’t control what people think, but we can control what we do.  I had a conversation with one of the young ladies at our church yesterday.  She used to work as a cashier in a well-known grocery chain store.  While on her post at the ‘EXPRESS’ lane, a lady proceeded to load her groceries on the conveyor belt.  Now, mind you, there were other people in line.  To make matters worse, her companion brought another basket full of items and added them to the ladies’ order. These people completely ignored not only this sweet young ladies’ attempt to politely tell them they were in the wrong line, but they chose to ignore the other customers who tried to tell them the same.  They were rude, disrespectful and arrogant.   To make matters worse, one lady tried to engage this young lady in a conversation laced with God, told her to have a ‘blessed day’ and then reported her to management for not ’smiling’.  Needless to say, the whole episode left a bitter taste in my young friends mouth.  Thankfully, she is already a person who knows and loves Jesus, but what if she wasn’t?  How many folks have been turned completely off of the Gospel because of “Christians”.  Not the ones who try to excuse their own short-comings by pointing their fingers, but those who have legitimate experiences.  But, thank God … many people open their hearts and minds to the Gospel everyday because of a loving and faithful witness.  One of my favorite gospel artists, Israel Houghton, often tells the testimony of his mother who was faced with an unplanned pregnancy.  All of her circumstances led her to believe that abortion was her only option, but the words of a complete stranger, ignited something in her and we are blessed with a powerful and anointed man of God in the earth realm today.  Lord help us to be examples of the Believer in word, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity (1 Timothy 4:12).  We have been given to us everything we need pertaining to life and Godliness (2 Peter 1:3). With God ALL things are possible…. and that Beloved is Good News!

His Peace…

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you: not as the world gives, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
[
John 14:27]

Good Morning Beloved,

I love Jesus.  I love the compassion He has.  He knew that His time was drawing near to be offered up.  He had been with His disciples for 3 years.  They depended on Him.  They had left their homes and businesses to follow Him.  He let them know that He was not going to leave them completely alone.  He told them that He was leaving them His peace, and the Father would be sending the ‘Comforter’ to them… the Holy Spirit.  Of course they had no idea what He was talking about at the time, but He knew they would soon enough.  All of them with the exception of John who was exiled to the isle of Patmos, was martyred for their faith in Him.  He knew that extremely difficult days were ahead for them.  In spite of, they all died, not only willingly, but felt honored to be counted worthy to die in His Name.  We are blessed to live in a nation where we have the freedom to worship the True and Living God.  We have no fear of armed guards coming into our churches and attacking us and putting us into prison for our faith.  That is happening today in many places around the world.  That Word is real for millions of persecuted believers all over the world.  Peace is invaluable.  Now, we do have issues and situations that rock our peace.  There are so many tragic events all around us.  Some people are afraid to ride the subway because of the crash here in DC, others are afraid of large crowds and malls because of various incidents around the country.  Fear is an insidious thief.  God has not given us the spirit of fear, so one guess where it came from.. you’re right, the enemy of our souls.  The peace of God will squash fear.  When I heard of the death of Ed McMahon I was sad.  I felt like a piece of my childhood died with him.  Some of my fondest memories of just hanging with my grandmother watching “The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson”, Lawrence Welk, Mike Douglas… yes .. that was how we rolled.  Then, I heard of Farrah Fawcetts’ death from Cancer … another icon from my childhood, Charlies’ sweet Angel, but when Michael Jackson passed on the same day at 50 (only 9 years older than me) … I was stunned.  The death toll this week of people I knew or knew of is unnerving.  For people who we love and admire, they could live to be a 150 and their death would be too soon.  My thoughts and prayers go out to not only the families and loved ones of these great people, but to all who have suffered loss recently.  It is a reminder that life is brief.  The bible describes our life as a vapor.  It makes fulfilling our vision and walking towards our destiny even more crucial.  I don’t want to meet God with any unfinished business.  I want to do what He created me to do.  I submit to you that the half has not been seen.  He has planted so much within us.  We need to press into His heart like never before and release what He has for us… its not for us… it is for somebody else..

… that Beloved is Good News

A false balance is abomination to the LORD: but a just weight is His delight.
[Proverbs 11:1]

When the Lamb broke the third seal, I heard the third living being say, “Come!” I looked up and saw a black horse, and its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand.
[Revelation 6:5]

“BALANCE”

The time is coming when everything that is covered up will be revealed, and all that is secret will be made known to all. Whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered behind closed doors will be shouted from the housetops for all to hear!

“Dear friends, don’t be afraid of those who want to kill your body; they cannot do any more to you after that. But I’ll tell you whom to fear. Fear God, who has the power to kill you and then throw you into hell.  Yes, He’s the one to fear.   “What is the price of five sparrows—two copper coins? Yet God does not forget a single one of them. And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.   “I tell you the truth, everyone who acknowledges Me publicly here on earth, the Son of Man will also acknowledge in the presence of God’s angels. But anyone who denies Me here on earth will be denied before God’s angels. Anyone who speaks against the Son of Man can be forgiven, but anyone who blasphemes the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven. “And when you are brought to trial in the synagogues and before rulers and authorities, don’t worry about how to defend yourself or what to say, for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what needs to be said.”

[Luke 12:2-12]

Good Morning Beloved,

You know, people may think that God doesn’t see what is happening… but He sees everything.  Not even the tiniest detail escapes Him.  That is how He can be God.  Just because He does not smash a person every time they do something wrong, doesn’t mean He didn’t see it.  He is a just God.  He said that vengeance was His, and that He WOULD repay.  His goal is to prepare us for what He has for us.  US as a church, and US as individuals.  As with preparation for anything else, there are going to be times of discipline and struggle, and times of rest and rejuvenation.  Do not be weary in well doing, you will reap if you faint not.  As you draw closer to Jesus, He will draw closer to you.  God is just in His dealings with us and He wants us to be just in our dealings with others.  Tolerance is a buzz word these days.  God called us to love, not tolerate.  I love my daughter.  I do not tolerate anything that would try and attach itself to her that is not supposed to be there.  I don’t care if it is a pimple… its got to go. My love for her has nothing to do with my intolerance for anything that would hurt her.  Rather, it proves I love her.  What kind of mother would I be if I saw a 50-pound growth hanging on her, and I did nothing because I didn’t want to hurt her feelings.  That thing could kill her.  She would need help ASAP.  God’s Word is the same.  We’re not going to like everything He says.  Our flesh is going to rebel, but our spirit wants to be free… so who’s gonna win?

The Good News is … we are more powerful than we will ever know and we were given the opportunity to choose life and live… abundantly!

What Did He Say?

After the death of Moses the Lord’s servant, the Lord spoke to Joshua son of Nun, Moses’ assistant. He said, “Moses My servant is dead. Therefore, the time has come for you to lead these people, the Israelites, across the Jordan River into the land I am giving them. I promise you what I promised Moses: ‘Wherever you set foot, you will be on land I have given you—from the Negev wilderness in the south to the Lebanon mountains in the north, from the Euphrates River in the east to the Mediterranean Sea in the west, including all the land of the Hittites.’ No one will be able to stand against you as long as you live. For I will be with you as I was with Moses. I will not fail you or abandon you. “Be strong and courageous, for you are the one who will lead these people to possess all the land I swore to their ancestors I would give them. Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the instructions Moses gave you. Do not deviate from them, turning either to the right or to the left. Then you will be successful in everything you do. Study this Book of the Law continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do. This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

[Joshua 1:1-9]

Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.

What Did He Say?

Good Morning Beloved,

God gave Joshua very specific directions didn’t He?  It would be nice if we received direct, step by step instructions from God Himself.  It would be nearly impossible to mess up… right? ()  I love the confirmation Joshua received.  Moses lead a multitude of people out of bondage.  He was their leader for many, many years and they knew that God spoke with him Face to face.  Joshua had assisted Moses for a long time.  He probably didn’t have a clue that God was prepping him to lead these people into the promised land.  He was content to serve Moses and when Moses died… well those were some pretty big shoes to fill.  God had other plans.  He gave Joshua his own ’shoes’.  I don’t know about you, but I can get really comfortable serving in the ministry of others.  It excites me to see my brothers and sisters in Christ walking in their vision.  I love the theater and when someone asks me to participate I’m there.  However one of my close sisters-in-Christ challenged me one day.  I was telling her about the projects I was working on (three during the same time period), and she quietly said, ‘uh-huh, but what are you doing with the ministry God gave you?’  OUCH! (Thanks Denise) …. That was months ago, but her words grabbed my heart and have not let go.  She was the perfect one to minister to me about this, because she too is a person who loves to push others in ministry. She is always ready to lend a hand wherever she can, but still manages to keep her focus on the vision that God has placed in her care.  She has had her share of Moses-like mentors, and now she is a leader herself in the “Joshua generation”.  She has watched my theater ministry from the very beginning in the ’90’s.  We have spent countless hours talking about what God has placed in our hearts.  How to use what He has given us to uplift the Kingdom.  I believe she feels she has invested too much time and energy in me, to see me put Regal One Productions, Inc. on the shelf, and let it collect dust like a forgotten ‘what-not’.  I am blessed to be encircled by people who are moving forward in what God has placed in their heart.  Am I saying not to work with other ministries?  NOPE.  We all need each other.  I already have projects on my calendar that I can’t wait to dig into.  What I am saying is that we should not use helping others as an excuse not to do what God has told us to do because we’re afraid to do it (long run-on sentence intentional).  What I’m hearing in my spirit, is what God challenged Joshua… ‘Be strong and do it’…. well alrighty then ….

That Fam is Good News!
