God’s Goodness
Written by FAVORED1 on July 15, 2009 – 8:31 am -Wednesday, July 14, 2009
The Lord will give strength to His people; the Lord will bless His people with peace
[Psalm 29:11]
Good Morning Beloved,
Ever received a blessing so fabulous it makes you nervous? As much as we know and have experienced the goodness of God, sometimes we can think, “what did I do to merit this?”. Well, the Bible does tell us that the goodness of God leads one to repentance (Romans 2:4), and Matthew does remind us how well God takes care of the sparrows, and the lillies and of the fields and that we are worth more than they are. Not one single thing escapes His attention. I was just thinking about Sampson. Most people know his story. We’re familiar with his strength, his hair, his addiction to women, his donkey’s jawbone weapon, and the most expensive hair cut in history. Not only was Delilah paid very well for her services by the leaders, but Sampson sold his power, his strength, his anointing, his position, his dignity, and in the end he received nothing but death… that was one expensive hair cut. Most of us know the story, but what sticks out in my mind is how many chances God gave Sampson. Even to the very end God never left him. He was waiting for Sampson to come to his senses. Wonder how the story would have ended if instead of asking God to let him die with the Philistines, he had asked God to forgive him and deliver him from his enemies. Every step along his journey there were roadblocks, signs, walls all around him trying to keep him out of trouble. His parents tried to reason with him about his choice for a wife… he pushed through that. He knew the laws governing the Nazerites… he pushed through them. His first wife betrayed him out of fear for the safety of herself and her father… and then there was Delilah. Every step of disobedience hardened his heart, and made him even more susceptible to the next act until he was in full fledged rebellion. He began to act as though he were master of his strength, instead of realizing that his great strength was given to him by God for Gods’ purposes. Playing with sin and dancing around the edge of the cliff rebellion, he finally fell in… head first… into the lap of deception. His is one of the saddest life events in the Bible. So much potential… wasted. God protected His people from their adversaries, and the imminent threat to them was vanquished for a season… but Sampson died. His life serves as a warning to us of the dangers of “playing with fire”, but it also tells us something else… God loves us and we will never find ourselves in a situation where there is no way out. Take the exit!
… and THAT Beloved is Good News!
U Blessed

The Real Superstar
Written by FAVORED1 on February 2, 2009 – 10:03 am -Monday, February 2, 2009
And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.
And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
“The Real Superstar”
Good Morning Beloved,
Jesus is holy cool. Ever stop to think about the earthly persona of Jesus. He was meek and humble, confident and bold all at once. He knew who He was and what He was sent to do. He mind was made up and He was completely focused on His mission. His kindness and compassion was evident as He began to weep over the sad spiritual condition of the people of God. He loved people, but He was not a ‘people pleaser’. He lived to please His Father. Sometimes that made people angry… they could not control Him. He was strong and bold enough to chase a multitude of thieves out of the temple with a whip… by Himself… too tough I tell you! In the face of imminent danger, He was able to escape, until He knew His time of sacrifice had come. He told His disciples:
Therefore My Father loves me, because I lay down My life, that I might take it again. No man takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of My Father. (John 10:17-18)
Wow! Remember what He said…
“And Jesus came and spake to them, saying, “All power is given to Me in heaven and in earth.” Matthew 28:18.
Jesus was meek, but He was never ‘weak’. Many people have confused ‘meekness’ for ‘weakness’. I’ve heard meekness described as strength under control. Meaning, I could break you down, but I’m not going to. The ability is there, but under control
. Folks will test us (… as they tested Jesus time and time again)… to see if what we have is real. Wisdom and discernment are valuable weapons in our arsenal, and will let us know if what is coming at us, is something to let go, or address… in the right spirit of course
. The character and attributes of Jesus are amazing. As we hang around Him… those characteristics rub off on us…
… and that my royal sibling is Good News!
U Blessed
Have A Fabulous Day!

“Shelter”
Written by FAVORED1 on October 14, 2008 – 9:49 am -Tuesday, October 14, 2008
He that dwells in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
Psalm 91:1
For You have been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.
Psalm 61:3
[Song of Strength, Fred Hammond: http://www.thefaithspot.com/videos/id_1427/]

Good Morning Beloved,
“Shelter”. God is our strongtower, our strength.. shelter in times of storm. He is God and never grows weary…. never fails… never gives up. He is lightyears away from us in terms of His thoughts, but His presence is closer than our next breath. He is Sovereign… ruler of all at all times, and a loving Father who cares for His children. His yes is yes and His no is no, yet He gives us the privilege to “come and reason with Him”. He is all sufficient and needs no one, however, since He IS love, desires everyone. “It is not His will that any perish, but that ALL come to repentance”. He has given every person the gift of a free will, and if it is that person’s will not to accept Him, He will not force Himself on them. He is tender and compassionate, and has power over life and death. He is a trusted confidante and friend, but don’t get it twisted He is KING of Kings… the God of ALL flesh. He has prepared a place for us in heaven, Hell was never intended for humanity, it was designed for the devil and the fallen angels, but those who choose to follow the devil, will go where he is going. Know that it is not by God’s design…. He provided ‘The Way’ of escape….Jesus… our redeemer, our sanctifier, our healer, our Lord… He is the ultimate peacemaker…. He is a mighty warrior… He is strong…He is gracious and kind. Hey! It’s good to know we have a Friend in high places
.
…. that is Good News my friend!

The name of the Lord is Jesus. Through the name of Jesus we are protected from the enemy.

In Revelation 5:5, Jesus is referred to as the Lion of the tribe of Judah. Like a lion, our Lord is powerful and strong, and able to protect us from the enemy.

Club Lips
Written by FAVORED1 on June 30, 2008 – 10:07 am -Good Morning Beloved,
Happy Monday! Remember ‘sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me’?…. We have found out that words, while not breaking our physical skin, can penetrate our ‘spiritual and emotional’ skin. Words can hurt… and words can heal. Our whole claim to the gospel of Jesus Christ hinges on the “Word” of God. The Word that the Spirit of God breathed into the hearts of men and women of God. They in turn wrote those Words for us, and over 2000 years later, we are directly affected by them. Words that tell of Jesus’ sacrifice and of His triumph. Words that show us the way to salvation. Words that teach us who God is. Words that affirm how much God loves us. Words that correct us. Words that instruct us on everyday living. Words that build up families. Words that tell us how we should treat our enemies, as well as our friends. Words that express commitment. Words of warning. Words of prophecy. Words of deliverance. Words….. Words are so powerful that Proverbs warns that, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof“. (Proverbs 18:21)
I love the cartoon featured below. It is a powerful reminder to me…. Regina … monitor the patrons of “club lips”.

Cartoonist’s Comment:
It is very important that we not allow just any word through the door of our lips.

Watch Your Mouth :0)
Written by FAVORED1 on March 26, 2008 – 5:18 am -Good Morning Beloved,
Hope your morning is moving along swimmingly LOL!…. This morning I remembered something ”the grown” people used to say all the time when I was little… “watch your mouth”. Now, I was a smart kid, and I had a tendency to associate words with pictures. I would think, now how can I ‘watch my mouth’? Unless, I look in a mirror, my lips are too small to see. I learned that they did not literally mean to look at my lips, they were issuing a warning that something I said (or was about to say), was about to get me in trouble. We would do well to remember that now as adults. The bible says that, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof“(Proverbs 18:21) and Deuteronomy 30:19 ”I call heaven and earth to record this day against you that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing. Therefore choose life, that both you and your children may live“. Yes I know that people can settle themselves on that one nerve… you know the ‘reserved nerve’. Especially those closest to you, family, friends and co-workers…. Whoa! You think to yourself, I’ve just had it!… I’m going to tell them about them self! Listen here you no good, sorry blankety blank blank…you always been a blankety-blank… you daddy was a no good blankety blank, yo’ Mama and yo’ slap-happy grand-pappy were all no good! You will never be…errrrr! STOP!… is that life-speaking? Is that edifying? Are you building up their spirit or wounding their soul? Well I’m mad! I can’t say anything positive right now! Well, cover your mouth with your hands and walk away…. oooohhh.. yes I know… it’s tough, but you can do it. Remember “greater is He that is in YOU, then he that is in the world”. So ….I’m going to say repeat what my Mama said so many times…. “watch your mouth“!

U BLESSED,
Have An Exceptional Day!
