I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me. No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the Heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.

[Philippians 3:12-14]

‘Da Middle ;)

Good Morning Beloved… Happy Friday!

I do NOT care for the Bay Bridge. The sides are a little low for my taste.  I don’t need to see that much of the water thank you.  Did I mention it is long?  However, we started crossing the bridge because we fell in love with Ocean City. The alternative would add another couple of hours to the trip.  So we learned to deal with the bridge.  We already had a fear of that thing, then tragedy struck.  A while back, a precious man lost his life, when his truck veered over the bridge, as he tried to avoid hitting a car that was being driven by a sleepy operator.  The fear factor really increased then.  We shoved those feelings aside and continued to cross, but that first time I crossed… if there is a fear beyond terrified… that’s where I was.  I was most afraid when we made it to the middle of the bridge.  There was no way we could go back, and the distance to the end was the same as the distance we had traveled.  The only thing to do was to press ahead.  Everyone in the car breathed a collective sigh of relief when our tires touched solid ground again.  That was many years ago.  Now, especially with our discovery of family over there, our trips are much more frequent.  We hardly think about it and the trip seems a lot shorter than it used to.  Isn’t that like life?  I’m proud to say that I am 42 years old (Yeaa!)  I have vivid memories of years gone by and I can’t believe how fast time has flown by.  One minute I am tucking my baby in her baby carrier, the next she’s behind the wheel of my car.  42 years ago I was a baby… 42 years from now I’ll be a “well seasoned” citizen… wow.. “‘da middle”.  Can’t go back.. looking back is only useful in telling the testimony and helping somebody else know the goodness and faithfulness of the True and Living God (whew!). God is doing a quick work.  Things that used to happen in 5 years are happening in weeks.  We see where we are right now (“the beginning”), He has given us the vision (“the ending”) … now (as I heard in a Ted and Sheri song), we gotta “work the middle“.  That is the uncomfortable spot.  That is where we are most likely to encounter a “cross-road”.  Should we go to the left or to the right.  Make this call, or go on this interview.  Accept this assignment or wait.  Date this person or that person. Stay in this ministry or go to another ministry.  Send the kid to public or private school?  Home school them?  Leave town or stay in town… decisions… decisions… decisions.. every decision we make will impact our destiny, and alter someone elses’, so they are not to be taken lightly or hap-hazardly.  What an exciting time we’re living in.  We are indeed a chosen generation.. no other generation has ever seen the wonders we have… and there is so much more to be seen and “done”.. we just gotta “keep it movin’ to the end”

Y Stress? … U Blessed!
Have A Fabulous Day and a Wonderful Weekend!

I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 3:14

I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.

Philippians 3:14

Good Morning Beloved,

Happy New Year!…. Welcome to the very first Friday of 2009!  A brand new year… wow.  I really believe this year is a year of fulfillment and completion. What was started last year, I believe will be completed this year.  I love the start of a new year because I see it as another year God has graced us to draw nearer to Him, and work our assignment.  Each day is a precious gift.  We have so many opportunities all around us.  New Year’s Eve, I saw a mother who has a terminal illness, and has faced death many times over the years, get the opportunity to apologize to her children for what she had done in the past.  She was able to receive forgiveness, love, hugs, and kisses from them … what a blessing!  No matter how long she has with them, they will never forget that night.  We are not to become amnesiac over our past, but we should not dwell on the past either.  Our past is what has brought us to where we are.  The compassion we have for the lost, the understanding we have for the single mother, the love we have for the wayward child, the patience we have for the addict, the empathy we have for those struggling in faltering marriages — would not be in us if we had not been in their shoes at some point in our life.  The bible tells us in Luke 9:62:

But Jesus told him, “Anyone who puts a hand to the plow and then looks back is not fit for the Kingdom of God.”

…and in Revelations 2:5 tells us:

Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent, and do the works you did at first. If not, I will come to you and remove your lamp stand from its place, unless you repent.

Some would count that as a contradiction, but on the contrary.  I believe that there is a difference between ‘looking back’ longingly on our past craziness, and remembering from whence we have come.  It is a matter of the condition of heart.  A person set free from the bondage of sin, can be used greatly in the kingdom to tell others of The One who saved and delivered them….

….pressing on… no looking back

That my friend …. is Good News!

U Blessed!
Have A Fabulous Day

Refreshment Station
-Romans 15:32
65 of 105

If you are becoming weary in your faith walk, perhaps it’s time to draw on the strength and refreshing that God provides through the force of joy. Nehemiah 8:10 tells us that the joy of the Lord is our strength.

This cartoon is an illustration of the battle that goes on inside our mind. Wrong thoughts may try to come into our mind, but we must remain on guard, and usher them out as quickly as they came in.

Ranger Rescue
-Isaiah 52:7

This cartoon is an encouragement to the church to get out of the “ranger station” of the church building, and up on the “mountain” of the world, where people are in need of rescue.
