The Good Fight

Fight the good fight for the true faith. Hold tightly to the eternal life to which God has called you, which you have confessed so well before many witnesses.
{1 Timothy 6:12 – New Living Translation}
. My legs were numb by the time I got to work… only to get here and discover heat distribution issues here in the office! Brrrrrrrr! Nevertheless, I made it! Yea!!! Some stuff you just gotta fight through. Giving up should not be an option on some things. I have found the old adage, “anything good is worth fighting for“, to be true. We live in a time where life has been simplified for us in a way that can be detrimental to our development if we’re not watchful. Everyday something is made quicker, easier, faster.. from food to technology. That can make fighting a difficult concept to accept. If what we want doesn’t come fast enough (in our own estimation), we can either give up, or become angry, bitter and disillusioned. Disillusionment can lead to another state of mind …mere existence from day to day. A good fight for a righteous cause, can build you up mentally, physically and emotionally. Some people have to fight just to get out of bed in the morning. When they do…. they have won half of the battle. We all have a battle of some kind going on…the key is knowing we have help. Ever seen a fight where someone thought they had back-up, but when it came time to “put up or shut up”, they were all alone? That was usually the person who started the fight
. Our God is not like that. He is there… right in the middle of it all. Even if you’re in the fire like the three Hebrew boys, in a den of lions like Daniel, on a ship seemingly about to capsize like the disciples, or hungry in the desert like the multitude. Jehovah Shammah…”God is there”. Whatever our fight, the first step is to ascertain whether this is truly our fight. Remember, if we submit ourselves to God, and resist the devil he will flee from us… so that is one fight we do not have. We need to know, that we are not in the battle alone. Jesus promised that He would never leave us, nor forsake us.![]() |

Shut The Door!
Written by FAVORED1 on May 30, 2008 – 6:03 am -Good Morning Beloved,
IT’S FRIDAY!!
Another beautiful day. Why? Because YOU are here!….. Hey, this week I’ve been talking about doors. Jesus is the Door…. our “all access pass”. Today I want to mention another point…. that some other doors in our life need to be shut, locked, bolted hung with a “do not enter sign” and a chair under the knob!!!! Don’t go back! We pray and ask God to get us out of a situation… stay out. However you can, whatever you have to do. For example… me… I’m talking about me
. I do not handle credit cards well. I thought I could… but I can’t… yeah I hear you self-control is a fruit of the Spirit. It sure is, however I know that, in that particular area… I need not tempt myself. Debit card with Visa logo all the way baby
. I have gotten free of credit card debt TWICE…. I have learned that lesson the hard way. I’m not about to open that door. There was a commercial a while back where this man in a Taco suit is chasing this other man. It took me a minute to realize what was going on. The man being chased, had paid for a taco party while in college, using his credit card, and many years later the thing had not been paid for. It was a humorous reminder of what is not really funny… debt following us wherever we go. That is just one example. There are many others we could talk about… illicit sex… Shut the door! lying….Shut the door! stealing… Shut the door! … negativity, unbelief, evil speaking, pornography, wrong doing… Shut the door… Shut the door….. Shut the door!….

Cartoonist’s Comment:
Temptation may seem harmless, but it will lead to sin, which is not harmless at all. If we confess our sin, we will be forgiven (I John 1:9), but that doesn’t mean that we will escape all of the consequences for our sin.

**********************
He replied: “Watch out that you are not deceived. For many will come in My name, claiming, ‘I am he,’ and, ‘The time is near.’ Do not follow them. When you hear of wars and revolutions, do not be frightened. These things must happen first, but the end will not come right away.” Then He said to them: “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven. “But before all this, they will lay hands on you and persecute you. They will deliver you to synagogues and prisons, and you will be brought before kings and governors, and all on account of My name. This will result in your being witnesses to them. But make up your mind not to worry beforehand how you will defend yourselves. For I will give you words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict. You will be betrayed even by parents, brothers, relatives and friends, and they will put some of you to death. All men will hate you because of Me. But not a hair of your head will perish. By standing firm you will gain life.
Luke 21:8-19

Cartoonist’s Comment:
As the verse says, the devil is “seeking whom he may devour”. We must be alert and on guard against his devices, armed with faith and the Word of God.
U Blessed!
Have A Fabulous Day!
