And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to Himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

[2 Corinthians 5:18]

SOMEBODY NEEDS YOU!

Good Morning Beloved,

Just thinking about the humorous, oft-told story by Charles Osgood about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.

There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.

Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.

Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody’s job

.

Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn’t do it.

It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

Responsibility.  That is a strong word.  It indicates that one has put themselves on the line for something or somebody.  If I tell you that I am bringing plates to the bar-b-que, you will expect plates.  If I forget, there will be a major problem. How will that make you feel about me the next time?  Well, you probably will not rely on me as your only source of plates.  We have a responsibility to each other.  The Word tells us that God has made us “ministers of reconciliation”.  We are to give what has been given to us.  Mercy has been given to us, we are to give mercy.  Grace has been given to us, we are to show mercy.  Peace has been given to us we are to be peaceable “peacemakers”.  Love has been showered upon us, we are to demonstrate love.  People need what you have.  I see situations all around me where we find ourselves in uncomfortable surroundings.  I’m learning that some of the most difficult folks, irritate you because God is working something OUT of you, and He is using you to work something INTO the other person.  For example.  If you see a young lady who doesn’t feel attractive because of her size, and you are the same size, but have confidence for days, she needs you.  She needs to know that she is beautiful.  She can learn that from you.  We need each other.  The author of confusion is who? .. He is the one who causes division, mistrust and suspicion.  I have watched a group of beautiful young people torn apart because of jealous and envy.  It is heartbreaking to watch, but it is fixable.  The Truth of God’s Word is a healer.  It will destroy the barriers the wicked one builds and repair the breach in relationship.  People don’t really care how much you know until the know how much you care.  Love covers a multitude of sin.  Love is an equalizer.  It will give us the inroad into the heart of the individual so that they can receive the greatest love of all time.. The love of Jesus!

…. and Beloved that is Good News!

Y Stress? … U Blessed!

Have A Fabulous Day

The Ransom

For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give His life a ransom for many.

[Mark 10:45]

Good Afternoon Beloved,

Happy Monday :0) …. God is soooo good!  We were able to get away for a few days and it was absolutely beautiful… everybody needs a change of scenery every once in a while… whether it’s a few days at the beach, or taking a different route home.  It helps to push us out of the norm and we realize that we’ve been caught on a hamster-wheel-like existence.  Get up go to work (same faces), go to lunch, go home, watch TV, go to bed, get up and do it all over again the next day (ok, maybe a church service or bible class thrown in there).  I noticed at one time, I was seeing the same faces on the train because we were all on the same schedule.  There is something comforting about routine… safe.  However, the dichotomy of Christian living is safety, in the midst of a battle.  God is all that He said He is and He can do all that He said He can do.  He is a healer, savior, deliverer… He is all that and much more, and He is our King.  Sovereign Ruler… Commander-In-Chief.  His eye is on the ‘the big picture’ as well as the tinest sparrow.  His overall goal is the salvation of lost humanity.  He came as a ‘ransom’ for many.  He was The ransom.  God decided that our value was such, that He gave Himself in exchange for our freedom.  That boggles the mind.  He could have just scrapped the whole idea of the children of Adam and Eve and created something else.  A being with no free will, that would obey with the complicity of a robot.  He chose to work with us.  He sees everything…. all of the debauchery and corruption, but He will not give up on us.  One verse says that He “knows our frame… that we are dust”and still He holds onto us.  He sees His children fighting and killing each other with their mouths… assassinating each other’s characters… and still He fights for us.  He sees His children so filled with fear of public opinion that they have been all but silenced, and the world that He created cursing and mocking Him at every turn… and still He loves us… What an awesome God we serve… God help us to,

“… lead a life worthy of our calling, for we have been called by God.  Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of our love. Make every effort to keep ourselves united in the Spirit, binding ourselves together with peace. For there is one body and one Spirit, just as we have been called to one glorious hope for the future. There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one God and Father, who is over all and in all and living through all” [Ephesians 4:1-6 revised]

Before The Throne

Holy Bible: Genuine Soul Food

Thursday, December 11, 2008

It was in the year King Uzziah died that I saw the Lord. He was sitting on a lofty throne, and the train of His robe filled the Temple. Attending Him were mighty seraphim, each having six wings. With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they flew. They were calling out to each other,

“Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord of Heaven’s Armies!
The whole earth is filled with His Glory!”

Their voices shook the Temple to its foundations, and the entire building was filled with smoke.  Then I said, “It’s all over! I am doomed, for I am a sinful man. I have filthy lips, and I live among a people with filthy lips. Yet I have seen the King, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.” Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a burning coal he had taken from the altar with a pair of tongs. He touched my lips with it and said, “See, this coal has touched your lips. Now your guilt is removed, and your sins are forgiven.” Then I heard the Lord asking, “Whom should I send as a messenger to this people? Who will go for us?”

I said, “Here I am. Send me.”

Good Morning Beloved,

Access…. I never tire of that heavenly promise.  Access to the very Throne of God.  Every time we breathe a prayer of thanksgiving, every time we cry out to God in anguish over a person, or a situation, every time we pause to just bless His name with the fruit of our lips… our prayers are immediately transported to the very Throne of God!  Ahhhh… I don’t think we can ever fully comprehend the magnitude of that on this side of Glory.  My Bishop (Cornell R. Hughes, St. John Christian Power Center) preached a message years ago, “Behind The Scenes”.  If we could get a sneak peak behind the scenes, many of lifes’ aggravations and irritations would be less… well …”aggravatin’ and irritatin’ ().  I am completely amazed when people argue against the diety and reality of God… or ‘intelligent design’.  As complex and wonderful as the human body has been designed, the thought that we just happened… just sorta evolved from slime to apes to the glorius creatures we are.  They have way more faith than I.  That would be like me finding a beautiful pearl and gold cadillac (fully loaded, keys in the ignition, suitcases in the trunk, gold cross hanging from the rear-view mirror) parked at the beach, and saying that it evolved from something in the sea.  You would think I was either terribly mistaken at best, or completely delusional.  We belong to a God who is Sovereign.  There is coming a day when every eye will see Him.  “Every knee will bow, and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the Glory of God the Father”.  The thing is not to be on the wrong side of the gate while we’re doing all of that.  Our ultimate desire is to meet Jesus in peace, as His friend and joint-heir, having poured out as much as He put in us on the earth as possible.  Every song, every dance, every piece of literature, every invention, every kind word, every good deed… everything that God has invested in us.  It will be an interesting feat that can never be done, but will be fun trying.  Why can’t it be done?  Because the more you pour out…. the more He pours in…

…. and that my friend is Good News!

U Blessed,

Have A Fabulous Day

… From Jesus…

Written by FAVORED1 on May 29, 2008 – 6:06 am -

Good Morning Beloved,

Let me set this before you as plainly as I can.  If a person climbs over or through the fence of a sheep pen instead of going through the gate, you know he’s up to no good—a sheep rustler!  The shepherd walks right up to the gate.  The gatekeeper opens the gate to him and the sheep recognize his voice.  He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he gets them all out, he leads them and they follow because they are familiar with his voice.  They won’t follow a stranger’s voice but will scatter because they aren’t used to the sound of it.” ……… “I’ll be explicit, then. I am the Gate for the sheep.  All those others are up to no good—sheep stealers, every one of them. But the sheep didn’t listen to them.  I am the Gate.  Anyone who goes through me will be cared for—will freely go in and out, and find pasture. The thief is only there to steal and kill and destroy.  I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of.  “I am the Good Shepherd.  The Good Shepherd puts the sheep before himself, sacrifices himself if necessary.  A hired man is not a real shepherd.  The sheep mean nothing to him. He sees a wolf come and runs for it, leaving the sheep to be ravaged and scattered by the wolf.  He’s only in it for the money.  The sheep don’t matter to him. “I am the Good Shepherd.  I know My own sheep and My own sheep know Me.  In the same way, the Father knows Me and I know the Father. I put the sheep before Myself, sacrificing Myself if necessary. You need to know that I have other sheep in addition to those in this pen.  I need to gather and bring them, too.  They’ll also recognize My voice.  Then it will be one flock, one Shepherd.  This is why the Father loves me: because I freely lay down my life.  And so I am free to take it up again. No one takes it from Me. I lay it down of My own free will. I have the right to lay it down; I also have the right to take it up again.  I received this authority personally from my Father.”  …. Everything I have done has been authorized by My Father, actions that speak louder than words. ……….. My sheep recognize My voice. I know them, and they follow Me. I give them real and eternal life. They are protected from the Destroyer for good.  No one can steal them from out of My hand. The Father who put them under My care is so much greater than the Destroyer and Thief. No one could ever get them away from Him.  I and the Father are One.”

Love,

Jesus
