Dancin’ With God! :0)
Written by FAVORED1 on February 19, 2010 – 4:56 pm -Friday, February 19, 2010
GOD’s thunder sets the oak trees dancing
A wild dance, whirling; the pelting rain strips their branches.
We fall to our knees—we call out, “Glory!”
Above the floodwaters is GOD’s throne
from which His power flows,
from which He rules the world.
GOD makes His people strong.
GOD gives His people peace.
[Psalm 29:9-11]
Good Evening Beloved,
Sorry for the lateness — had all sorts of meetings today
. Just wanted to touch base and quickly say that GOD IS GOOD! He is gracious and all together lovely! I love this verse. Man! God is so great, the trees are dancing
! Even as their “branches are being stripped” they are saying “Glory!” WOW. That reminds me of us. Praise is not only beautiful in the sight of God, it rejuvenates us. Worship brings us closer to the heart beat of God… Praise allows us to dance with God…. (ummph … pause). Dance with God. It stands to reason if God sings over us as stated in Zephaniah, that He can dance with us as well. That floors me. He is great. Admittedly, we tend to overuse that word, but when we pause to really ponder on the wonders of God… words become almost inadequate and we do the best that we can
. He makes His people strong… meaning if you feel weak, not a problem.. He can MAKE you strong. For those who are going through all sorts of turmoil… He will give you peace in it and bring you through it. For those who are experiencing a season of abundance, and material prosperity, He will also give you peace so that you can not only enjoy it, but have the wisdom with it.
… and THAT Beloved of God… is Good News!
Y Stress? … U Blessed!

ENCOURAGE YOURSELF!
Written by FAVORED1 on December 18, 2009 – 4:02 pm -Friday, December 18, 2009
And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his GOD.
[1 Samuel 30:6]
Encourage Yourself!

Good Afternoon Beloved,
Ever had a day like that one… well, this is the day the Lord has made! Happy Friday!!!… Oh my goodness the forecast is looking a little crazy DC/Metro. 15 Inches of snow are you serious
?! You know we shut down after 3 inches! LOL!…. Today, the thought hit me that somebody may feel a little under-appreciated, a little taken for granted… undervalued… well… I got a Word for you… encourage yourself. I suspect that more people appreciate you than you even know about…. (me for one… I appreciate you… seriously I really do). But even when you’re confronted with the feeling, you have the ability to encourage yourself in the Lord. Remind yourself that you are fearfully and wonderfully made… That you are a child of the Most High God with vision, purpose and destiny. That God has invested treasure in your earthen vessel. You are the apple of His eye and He loves you beyond comprehension. Your are not just loved, but greatly beloved and part of the Royal Family of the ages. Greatness is on you and within you. Am I trying to “pump you up”?… maybe…is it working
? Well, it just so happens to be true. We are complex individuals… servants, children, royal heirs, vessels all of that rolled into one. God’s very own…
… that Beloved is Good News!

“Increase”
The wise are mightier than the strong,
and those with knowledge grow stronger and stronger.
Proverbs 24:5
He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless.
Good Morning Beloved,

There is nothing too hard for the Lord.
When that truth is imprinted deep within our spirit, there really is nothing we will not be able to do. We read the bible and see people doing awesome things. Moses parting the red sea, Elisha purifying poisoned food with meal, calling down fire from heaven and instituting a drought like Elijah, judging a nation like Deborah, saving a nation like Esther… just to name a few. These people were used by God to bring judgment, and blessing. They were ordinary people, used by an exceptional God to do extra-ordinary works in the earth. They were in covenant with God, but we have a better covenant in Christ Jesus … we have the promises of God, and the power of the Holy Spirit living in us everyday. Wonder what God wants to use us to do. We are living in exciting times, we could be the generation that will actually see the Lord. In the midst of chaos, God wants His house to be an oasis in the desert for the sin-sick soul. Its going to take faith like never before, some serious soul-searching and putting everything within us not of God on the altar… and leaving it there. We’re going to be asked to do somethings that our flesh will not like. We may have to bite our tongues and resist the urge to ‘give folks a piece of our mind’ sometimes. We may be asked to bless someone we don’t particularly like. We may not understand what is required of us at the time, but the reward will be great. “Eyes have not seen, nor ears heard neither has entered into the heart of humanity the great things which God has prepared for them that love Him” (1 Corinthians 2:9 ) …
…..and that Beloved is Good News!
U Blessed!

Walking With God In Strength
Written by FAVORED1 on April 30, 2009 – 2:47 pm -Thursday, April 30, 2009
By My power I will make My people strong,
and by My authority they will go wherever they wish.
I, the Lord , have spoken!”
[Zechariah 10:12 New Living Translation]
And I will strengthen them in the LORD; and they shall walk up and down in His name, saith the LORD.
[Zechariah 10:12 King James Version]
. I like Zechariah 10:12 … especially the “walk up and down in His name” part. You see, I had this crazy freak accident Friday night that landed me in the emergency room, and my poor foot in a splint. This could not have happened at a more inopportune time, we have a production this weekend. This stageplay is a phenomenal piece of work, because of the prayer, time, talent, love and energy that has gone into it. Not going is not an option for me. I remember so many other times, when the craziest things would happen right before ’show-time’. Theater Ministry, is ministry. We have fun, laugh and cut-up, but understand, anytime God is glorified, people are edified, and the enemy is exposed, prepare for little hindrances. I hold to what I was taught long ago by my theater school teachers, “the show must go on”. That old adage is not just good to remember in theatrical circles. That “stick-to-it” attitude is necessary in whatever we do. Many people give up to easily. Discernment is crucial. It will let us know whether, to hold on like a pit bull, or let the thing go. As children of God, we may be down, but we are never ever, ever, ever out…. know that! As long as there is life in us, things can and do change. Seasons come and go. For those who do not like Winters on the east coast… hold on spring is right around the corner. For those who do not like the rainy, pollen-saturated days of Spring… hang on, hot Summer is coming, and just when we think we are about to roast alive… here comes cool, laid back Fall. Seasons change, situations change. Our natural environment thrives best when all of the seasons operate together in harmony. The same with our ’seasons’. If things are too easy all of the time, we have a tendency to become lethargic, passive and unprepared. If things are too harsh for too long, we become despondent. God knows this. He knows what we’re made of. He knows what we need so much better then we do. We need to develop a “bounce back” in us like the little weeble toys of old. Remember them, “they weeble-wobble, but they don’t fall down!” .

“DANCE! The Joy of The Lord Is Your Strength”
Written by FAVORED1 on March 23, 2009 – 2:10 pm -Monday, March 23, 2009
Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our LORD: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.
[Nehemiah 8:10]
**********
And David danced before the Lord with all his might, wearing a priestly garment.
[2 Samuel 6:14]
“DANCE! The Joy of the LORD is Your Strength”
Good Morning Beloved,
HAPPY MONDAY!…
I’m feeling this one… “The joy of the Lord is your strength”. That is so true!… a joy that just doesn’t make sense. A joy about everything and nothing in particular. Joy in the midst of struggle, joy in the midst of a “dry spell” where nothing seems to be “happening”. I’ve learned to cherish the ‘feeling’, because circumstances try to numb our emotions, but the ‘joy’ is always there. Sometimes the ‘fire’ of joy needs to be stoked. What brings joy to your heart? Where is that place that you can go physically, spiritually or emotionally that sets your spirit ‘right’? I can be in a really foul mood, and someone can say something, I start laughing and it’s over. Doctors are learning more and more, what has been in the bible for centuries…
A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.
[Proverbs 17:22]
I included a YouTube collage of ‘Dancing Saints’ and, one of the ones that blessed me was a man dancing in his kitchen. I’m not ashamed to say… I’ve been there. Yep…dancing in the kitchen
. I don’t know why we dance, I just know that whatever the circumstances good or bad, dancing is a release. I find it interesting that dancing crosses cultural and racial divides. One thing that our technology does is allow us to peek into cultures we may not see in our everyday surroundings. As a Christian, it fascinates me to see churches in countries all over the globe, singing some of the same songs, and doing very similar dances. Our expressions of worship, praise and adoration of our king… different and yet the same. Not everyone is going to understand, that is fine. Remember, David’s wife didn’t understand why her husband – the glorious King of Israel- was dancing in the streets like a peasant. In her eyes, he shed his dignity, along with his priestly garments. David, was excited because the ark of the covenant… the Word and promise of God, had returned to Israel. I don’t know what kind of dance it was, but whatever it was it was intense. He was so happy that he came home bearing gifts, but was met at his own door with disapproving eyes and a critical spirit. Ever had days like this. You’re in a good mood, minding your own business, and here comes a wet blanket trying to dampen your spirit. Well, we don’t have control over what someone throws at us, but we do control what we carry… and what we throw back
.
… That Beloved is Good News…

U Blessed!
Have A Fabulous Day

Pray
Written by FAVORED1 on February 20, 2009 – 2:05 pm -Friday, February 20, 2009
Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer. Psalm 19:14
Good Afternoon Beloved,
Sorry for the lateness of the ‘Soul Food’… I’ve been a little under the weather. “Pray ye one for another”… that is what is reverberating in my heart today. Yesterday I received the heartbreaking news of one of our Soul Food sisters who lost a church member to suicide. Today I read a news report of a man who walked into the Crystal Cathedral (remember the “Hour of Power” television broadcast), handed the usher a note with his drivers license, walked to the foot of the cross at the altar, and shot and killed himself –ironically both incidents happened on Wednesday. A while back one of my “Faith Spot” online community sisters lost her beloved nephew to suicide. I remember a line from “Its a Wonderful Life”, where Clarence the angel said something to the effect that, each persons’ life touches so many other people, and when they’re gone they leave a hole. This is especially true in the family of God. We have the same Heavenly Daddy, that makes us brother and sisters. In this age we’re living in, now more than ever, the strong must bear the infirmities of the weak. We don’t know what will take someone to their breaking point, but we need to be vigilant. We may not be able to stop every incidence, but we may never know how many tragedies have already be averted because of the watchful, praying spirit of a child of God. That is the good news. I know I am here because of a praying mother, grandmother, church mothers, Pastor, friends, church family, co-workers, etc. etc. etc. The person may never know (it’s nice if they do), but if they don’t.. pray anyway…it is effective. What if you pray for someone and it still ends badly for them?…. know that you did all you could, and do not allow the adversary to put condemnation on you. We have all been given the gift of a free will.
Love on somebody this weekend… leave nothing unsaid within your circle of influence, and most of all share with somebody the Gospel …. however you best communicate it. I am a ‘theater person’. I use drama to ’show’ the gospel. As Fred Hammond once stated, “the gospel must be seen”. I like to write, so here we are, “the morning Soul Food”. Also, we can share our faith by simply developing relationships with people. Not, meeting them and clobbering them with God’s precious Word, but actually taking the time to get to know people, and “allowing our light to so shine before humanity that they would see our good works and glorify our Father in Heaven”. People really don’t care how much you know, until they know how much you care. I’ve had people ask me how are you so doggone (ok…they didn’t say doggone
), happy everyday… I let ‘em know… hey… they asked
. When I lost a job I had a few years ago, I smiled, hugged the ‘terminators’, said my good-byes and rolled out. People called and emailed to check on me. I let them know that I was fine and that God had always taken care of me, and He would continue. That was November, 2006, I worked a few very short-term temp jobs until February, 2007. I joined a new agency they had an assignment that was only to last one month. I said, “great!”, my friend and sister-in-Christ Arlene had given me a great birthday gift… an all expense paid trip on the ”One Love Gospel Cruise”. The trip was in March, 2007. Before I left, for the trip the VP of the office where I was on assignment called me into her office and asked if I would like to come back, after my trip. I said sure (I’m still there). They got a temp while I was on vacation… can you believe that… a temp for a temp! That’s God… He knows what we need for sure! Prayer works. I know it has been my extreme honor and privilege to see God at work in the lives of people God has placed in my path.
… and that dearly Beloved is Good News!

The Harvest We Can Choose…
Written by FAVORED1 on February 10, 2009 – 11:14 am -Tuesday, February 10, 2009
But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!
Galatians 5:22-23
Good Morning Beloved,
The bible tells us that every tree is known by the fruit it bears. If I see apples on the tree, I know it is an apple tree. When people look at us, it is God’s desire that they see the character of Jesus. That is a mighty tall order, but if God said we can … we can.. it is a life-long process. All individuals, different sizes, shapes, shades and temperaments, but looking like Jesus nevertheless. All of those fruits growing in us, will make us sweet, beautiful and nurturing to the world around us. Recently, I read an article about a woman who was about 106 years old. Her mind was sharp and she was beautiful. The interviewer asked her secret and her answer was God. She said she had lived ‘good’ life. The decisions we make today, will affect how we live tomorrow. The law of the harvest …”sowing and reaping”. Some of us should be praying for crop failure
. Many of the wild party animals of the ’80s, who teased my friend Tina and I for being ‘boring’, and not drinking and experimenting with the drugs they did, have been ravaged by the lifestyle they chose. The harmless ‘monkey’ on their back, once fun and playful, has become a vicious 4-ton gorilla gripping their necks in a choke hold. That thing has crippled their lives. I know a talented musician who could have been very successful. He was charismatic, and gifted, as well as talented, and had “the look” that would have made him popular in the entertainment world. A career destroyed, before it ever got started, and a life decimated by drugs, alcohol and rebellion. Oddly enough, these were the words he used to describe … himself. Likewise, the people I know, who decided to skip the craziness, go to school and be productive… are doing just that. What kind of ‘tree’ do we want to become… it is our choice….
…now that is good news!… I want to be that tree that is planted by the river, whose leaves don’t wither
..producing good fruit
U Blessed

Endure to the End
Written by FAVORED1 on January 28, 2009 – 11:06 am -Wednesday, January 28, 2009
The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, He will show you a way out so that you can endure.
1 Corinthians 10:13 [New Living Translation]
Good Morning Beloved,
I hope you made it to your destination safely. My street was one solid sheet of ice this morning. I pressed my way and here I am
. The word that struck me today was ‘endurance’. The bible tells us to ‘endure hardness as a good soldier’. I am so glad that 1 Corinthians 10:13 is in bible. God knows how much we can take, and has provided a way out of every temptation we find ourselves in. We may feel we have reached the boiling point and, are about to crack like an egg at any moment, but an escape route has already been made. That’s another thing I like about God He is a Master ‘Strategician’. Every move the adversary makes against us, God is already light years ahead of him. As we still ourselves and set our hearts to listen to wise counsel, we will find temptations began to lose their power over us. It is good to take spiritual ‘inventory’ of ourselves on a regular basis. Where am I? How have I grown? Where do I need to improve? What do I need to put on the altar… again? Is there someone or something whose impact on my life is unhealthy? Are there relationships I need to repair and make restitution? Remember the quote, “to thine ownself be true” (Shakespeare’s Hamlet). The first step toward healing. I am acquainted with several adults who have issues stemming from their childhood. Father and mothers who did not honor their commitment and responsibilities towards their children. The effects have had far reaching consequences. It is easy to say that they need to get over it and move on. For some, it is not that simple. A person may have had a substance abuse problem in the past that prevented them from being the father or mother that they should have been, but for the now redeemed Child of God, more is required. “To whom much is given, much is required”. It is now up to them to make an effort at reconciliation. It may mean swallowing pride and apologizing, giving that long overdue gift… doing now, what should have been done then (even if the ‘child’ is grown). The disconnect did not happen overnight, and repairing that breach will not happen overnight either, but the rewards will be well worth it. Even if the child never accepts you, your Heavenly Father will be pleased with you for humbling yourself and trying.
…. and that my friend is Good News!
U Blessed
Have A Fabulous (…and safe) Day

“PROMISE KEEPER”

“PROMISE KEEPER”
Good Morning Beloved,
We live in a world that makes excuse for, at best or will validate at worst, broken promises. No one is really expected to keep or even make a promise. It is even considered foolish and unwise by some (“you never know what will happen”). There always seems to be a back door. However, our Heavenly Father says,
Yet they seek Me daily, and delight to know My Ways, as a nation that did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance of their God: they ask of Me the ordinances of justice; they take delight in approaching to God.
“And so, My children, listen to Me, for all who follow My ways are joyful”
[Proverbs 8:32]
What are His ways?
He is the Rock, His work is perfect: for all His Ways are judgment: a God of Truth and without iniquity, Just and Right is He. [Deuteronomy 32:4]
His ways are also-
generous, gracious, interactive, honest, loyal, reverent, merciful, loving, pure in heart, sanctified (set apart), respectful, preserver of life, faithful, truthful, great, glorified, friendly, eternal…. holy.
He is a God whose ways are declared by scripture to be “beyond knowing”, yet He calls us to seek Him and promises to be found. Sound contradictory? Not really. What I believe that means, is that we can spend a lifetime getting to know God, and we will have only scratched the surface of what there is to know.
… and that Child of God is exciting Good News!
U Blessed!
Have a Fabulous Day

The Prayers of the Saints…
Written by FAVORED1 on November 20, 2008 – 10:55 am -Thursday, November 20, 2008
And when He had taken The Book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the LAMB, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odors, which are the prayers of saints.
And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto Him much incense, that He should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the Throne.
Revelation 8:3
And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before GOD out of the angel’s hand.
Good Morning Beloved,
“The prayers of the Saints”. The bible tells us that we should always pray and never faint, or give up. My dear sister in Christ Arlene, sent me a message this morning about Matthew the 24th chapter. Those verses are as on point as anything could ever be. It is as if they were ripped straight from the pages of today’s newspaper. We are seeing what the disciples of Jesus would have found unbelievable. Sin is heralded as cute, pleasurable, and not that big of a deal; while holiness is becoming dated, restrictive, narrow, harsh, crazy and repugnant to society at large. Matthew 24 tells us what to expect so we won’t be shocked when we see it come to pass. However, Revelation (the end of the thing as we know it), tells us that our prayers are so precious, that they are carried straight into the presence of God in Golden Vials. The 24 elders place them before the throne. Not one of them is ever lost, misplaced, or discarded. Perilous times are here, more are coming, but fear not, not only do we have the heart of God, but His Eyes and Ears too…
The Eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry.
….. and that is Good News!
U Blessed,
Have A Fabulous Day
Regina
