But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odor of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, well pleasing to God.

(Philippians 4:18)

Good Morning Beloved,

SOMETHING STINKS IN HERE!  LOL!  As I write, my face is a few inches away from a borrowed desk fan.  It is 10:52 am.  At 7:30 this morning my co-worker burned her muffin in the microwave.  The smoke that filled the office earlier, is now gone, but unfortunately for us, (and everyone else on the floor) the smell isn’t.  Everyone who steps off of the elevator is assaulted by the aroma of “something” burnt.  Most have no idea what happened, or even where it is coming from.  Smells are funny that way.  I am thankful though, it could have been much worse, and way more inconvenient.  It was not enough to set of the smoke alarm (Yea!!!) which would have caused the whole building to evacuate.  Isn’t that something?  One person’s innocent mistake could have put a cramp (or worse) in everyone’s day.  Coming in the office this morning, I was meditating on being sweet.  My prayer was for God to ‘sweeten’ me, so that I could be sweet to others today.  The incident this morning was a great illustration.  Attitudes are like smells.  A bad attitude can literally be felt or ‘smelt’ all over the place.  Most people won’t even know where it came from, they just know that ‘something stinks’ and if they are not aware, they can fall into the same ‘crabby’ trap.  A great attitude works in the reverse.  It sets the tone for a better day, and ‘sweetens’ the atmosphere.  For example… the bathroom on our floor.  It used to smell terrible, like bad plumbing, then someone had the brilliant idea of installing Airwick X-Press (a shameless plug, they can have for free!).  What a tremendous difference.  The air in there is so sweet, we no longer dread our visit to the ladies’ room (the topic of many conversations).  Let us continually ask for a sweetened spirit, and a refreshing disposition, that will reflect the true character and nature of our wonderful Heavenly Father.  It is in us… we just need to release it.

… now that is Good News!

Have A Fabulous Day (…oh and putting a muffin, frozen or otherwise in the microwave for 3 minutes 15 seconds……… so NOT a good idea!)

Bread of Life

Cartoonist’s Comment:

Jesus said in John 6:36 “I am the bread of life”. It is up to the believers to take the Bread of Life (Jesus) out of the Bakery (the church building), to where the hungry people are. After eating “Satan’s Garbage”, the aroma of the Bread of Life will certainly smell good.

Regina,

Thank you for sharing the cartoons on your blog. I am glad to know my cartoons are being put to good use.

Holy Bible: Genuine Soul Food

Good Morning Beloved,

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. [Hebrews 11:1]

My pastor often tells a story, about his two daughters when they were little.  He could tell them before Sunday morning service, that he was going to take them to 7-Eleven for Slurpee’s after church.  Angel was about 4, Genesis was about 2 or 3.  They would begin to dance and sing, “We’re going to the Slurpee store!.. We’re going get Slurpee’s!! “.  Angel would come up to me and say,“Ms. Regina, my daddy gonna buy me a Slurpee!” They were excited…for something that had not even happened.  Why?… because their daddy promised it to them, and they had faith that what daddy said… daddy would do… hmmmm…. the same is even more true for our Heavenly Daddy.  See, what those precious babies did not know, was that their family was struggling financially.  There was much going on.  The trip to the “Slurpee” store was a sacrifice, that could be cancelled, if it came a choice between gas to get home, and their Slurpee’s.  Our Heavenly Father is quite different though.  As a matter of fact, “the earth is the LORD’s, and the fullness thereof [1 Corinthians 10:26]“…. no danger of God ever being in the position of being “all tapped out”.  He is Creator, and He has promised you a lot more than a Slurpee… but if that’s all you want, He can give you that…. according to your faith (as long as it not something illegal, immoral or un-Godly)…. so be it.  The possibilities are endless. .. every now and then, we need a reminder that Jesus is sweeter than honey in the honeycomb!

How sweet are Your words (‘Oh LORD’) to my taste! Yes, sweeter than honey to my mouth! [Psalm 119:103]

Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones. [Proverbs 16:24 ]

….. such good news!

All of God’s promises throughout the Bible are fulfilled in Jesus. The grace of God has been made freely available to us through the blood of Jesus.
