Who has believed our message?
To whom has the Lord revealed His powerful arm? My Servant grew up in the Lord’s presence like a tender green shoot, like a root in dry ground.  There was nothing beautiful or majestic about His appearance, nothing to attract us to Him.  He was despised and rejected— a Man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief.  We turned our backs on Him and looked the other way.  He was despised, and we did not care.
Yet it was our weaknesses He carried; it was our sorrows that weighed Him down.  And we thought His troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for His own sins!  But He was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins.  He was beaten so we could be whole.  He was whipped so we could be healed.  All of us, like sheep, have strayed away.  We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on Him the sins of us all.  He was oppressed and treated harshly, yet He never said a word.  He was led like a Lamb to the slaughter.  And as a sheep is silent before the shearers, He did not open His mouth.  Unjustly condemned, He was led away.  No one cared that He died without descendants, that His life was cut short in midstream.  But He was struck down for the rebellion of My people.
He had done no wrong and had never deceived anyone.  But He was buried like a criminal; He was put in a rich man’s grave.
But it was the Lord’s good plan to crush Him and cause Him grief.  Yet when His life is made an offering for sin, He will have many descendants.
He will enjoy a long life, and the Lord’s good plan will prosper in His Hands.  When He sees all that is accomplished by His anguish,
He will be satisfied.  And because of His experience, My Righteous Servant will make it possible for many to be counted righteous, for He will bear all their sins.  I will give Him the honors of a Victorious Soldier, because He exposed Himself to death.  He was counted among the rebels.  He bore the sins of many and interceded for rebels.

[Isaiah 53 New Living Translation]

So Beautiful!

Good Afternoon Beloved,

God is good and His mercy endures forever!  I hope this beautiful Good Friday finds you well and in good spirits.  What happened to my Savior on my behalf was ugly, but He is beautiful beyond all comprehension.  We will never fully understand the depth of His love, nor the agony of His Crucifixion.  “The Passion of the Christ”, by Mel Gibson was an excellent depiction.  I heard Jim Caviezel (the actor who portrayed Jesus), talk about his experiences while working on the film.  He was struck by lightning and left virtually unharmed, his shoulder was dislocated, he was left on the cross for hours…everybody forgot he was there as they broke for lunch… he was accidentally struck by the whip, (which left him with a permanent scar), he developed pneumonia and suffered hypothermia as sudden wind gusts rocked the cross he was on.  Talk about suffering for your art!  He believed so adamantly that it was a film that needed to be made, that to this day he has no regrets.  His prayer was for someone not to see him, but to see Jesus and be converted.  His prayer was answered… many people came to Christ as a result of this movie, including a Muslim actor who portrayed one of the soldiers. Countless lives have been changed, and Christians whose relationship with God had grown stale and stagnant were revitalized, and fell in love with Jesus all over again!  Powerful!  It reminded us that the price Jesus paid for us was staggering!  He died for us… can we live for Him? (umph..I heard you this morning Janelle..thank you for the reminderHe rose again, so that we could rise with Him, so that we could be seated with Him in Heavenly places, and not us alone, but the invitations have gone out to all humanity!  “Whosoever will …” !

… and that Beloved is Good News!

Y Stress? … U Blessed!

Have A Fabulous Day and a Wonderful Weekend!

The Glass: Half-Full or Half-Empty?

Written by FAVORED1 on August 20, 2009 – 10:43 am -

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

[Romans 8:28]

The Glass:  Half Full or Half Empty?

Good Morning Beloved,

An age old question.  How one answers is a good indication of where they are at that moment.  Also, how we treat that question in our everyday lives is important.  Is my bank account half-full or half-empty.  Is my ‘love’ tank half-full or half-empty.  My capacity for patience and understanding… half-full or half-empty? A positive answer speaks to our trust in a living God who promised to give us hope and a future.  Remember, “Now faith is the substance of things ‘hoped’ for, the evidence of things not seen”…  For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man sees, why does he yet hope for? [Romans 8:24].  God will, and He does take care of us.  We may not understand His ways at times, but then the bible is very clear that “His ways are not our ways”.  He is Infinite.  He knows everything.  We only know what we know.  Our information is limited and sometimes downright faulty.  Ever misunderstood a situation, or misread the intentions of another person?  We all have.  God doesn’t make mistakes.  Everything He created has purpose and value …even those pesky mosquitoes.  My grand-mother and I were watching television once, and someone made a comment that our appendix was useless.  This was back in the early ’80′s.  Grandma was never one to pass up an opportunity to teach me.  She said, “It has a purpose, they just don’t know what it is yet, but God put it there for a reason”.  This morning I ran across this quote from a doctor who is a practicing gastroenterologist and nutritionist:
The appendix is apparently part of the gut’s immune system. For example, patients who have had an appendectomy have a higher incidence latter in life of a lymphoma called Hodgins disease than those who have not had an appendectomy. So much for the concept of a vestigial organ, as the appendix is now starting to gain some respect. (http://www.revolutionhealth.com/forums/other/12802)
So everything has a purpose.  Whatever we have in our life right now has a purpose.  Wacked out relatives, micromanaging supervisors, out of control kids, wayward spouses, lazy folks, as crazy as it seems, it may not BE good, but it will work out FOR the good.  The problem is in the timing.  It seems to take forever while we’re in it, but a resolution is coming and soon… hold on to the Word and promise of God.  Trust that He knows what He is doing and He knows what we are doing.  He sees the injustice, the pain, and He will deal with it in His time.  Remember His vantage point is much higher than ours.  If He tried to explain it to us where we are right now, we would not be able to understand, so He says ‘Trust Me’.  I remember trying to explain to my cousin, who was a toddler at the time, why she could not take off her seat belt while I was driving.  Nothing I said to her made any sense to her.  She could not understand the danger.  I loved her too much to give in to her desire to not be confined in her car seat.  She wanted to stand and look out the back window.  Finally, I firmly told her to sit in that seat and do NOT take off that seat belt… that worked.  Now she is almost 6 and it is not as much of an issue, she puts on hers and makes sure everybody else has theirs on too.  We are God’s ‘children’.  Many times our perception is off, because we want, what we want, when we want it.  If we don’t get it, we get angry at life and angry at God and develop a ‘half empty’ mentality.  When we change our mind, we can change our life… so here’s to half-full glasses!

But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.

[Hebrews 11:6]

The Hiding Place

Written by FAVORED1 on August 13, 2009 – 7:05 am -

Deliver me, O LORD, from mine enemies: I flee unto Thee to hide me.

 Psalm 143:9

“The Hiding Place”

Good Morning Beloved,

“He who dwells in the secret place of the most high, shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty”.

The only truly safe place to be is under His shadow.  Regardless of our circumstances, we are OK because we are His.  You may say, yeah, but look around, things seem to be getting worse everyday.  Well, for the child of God we should not be surprised or caught unaware.  I’ve notice the rise of futuristic plots on television as well as the big screen.  Everybody wants to know what is going to happen in future.  For us… we already know.  The bible is a complete Book of books.  It gives us an account of the past, a look at where we are now, and a preview of what is yet to come.

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.  [2 Timothy 3:1-7]

Wow… sound familiar?  Looks like the headlines in today’s paper. Yet and still, the bible tells us that we are safe in Jesus.  How can it make such a bold statement?  Remember,

I, even I, am He that comforts you: who are you, that you should be afraid of a man that shall die, and of the son of man which shall be made as grass; And forget the LORD your maker, that has stretched forth the heavens, and laid the foundations of the earth; and has feared continually every day because of the fury of the oppressor, as if he were ready to destroy? and where is the fury of the oppressor?  [Isaiah 51:12-13]

Fear is a thief.  It will rob us of everything God has for us.  Remember we have a free will and He will not ‘make’ us do anything.  There are saints of the Most High God who are afraid to go out at night.  Afraid to apply for a new job.  Afraid to even take a cruise for fear of the ship sinking.  When we are hidden Jesus, even our messes can be used in our message.  Our mistakes are never wasted.  Everything we have gone through or will ever go through, God already saw and made provision for our breakthrough.  Why?  That we may glorify Him in the earth and be living epistles read by all humanity.

… and that Beloved is Good News!

U Blessed

God-Breathed

With Your very own Hands You formed me; now breathe Your wisdom over me so I can understand You. When they see me waiting, expecting Your Word, those who fear You will take heart and be glad. I can see now, God, that Your decisions are right; Your testing has taught me what’s true and right. Oh, love me—and right now!—hold me tight! just the way You promised. Now comfort me so I can live, really live; Your revelation is the tune I dance to. Let the fast-talking tricksters be exposed as frauds; they tried to sell me a bill of goods, but I kept my mind fixed on Your counsel. Let those who fear You turn to me for evidence of Your wise guidance. And let me live whole and holy, soul and body, so I can always walk with my head held high.

[Psalm 119:73]

Good Afternoon Beloved,

God Breathed!… I know that this Word is blessed because as I finished typing it … it vanished from my computer!  poof!… no warning at all … and now I must retype it…. no biggie.  I am honored to say it again LOL!  God breathed into us and we received life.  God breathed into us again we were ‘Born again’.  At that time we received a pinch of His nature.  That is why He can tell us to, “Be Holy as I am Holy”.  He would never tell us to do something we were incapable of doing.  We can be Holy because His Spirit lives in us and empowers us.  We are wise because the Holy Spirit is Wisdom.  We can love because God is Love.  We are honorable, because all honor belongs to God… He owns it, we are in him so a part of everything that is God is within us.  Are we Gods?  Nope … but we are children of God.  I like that.  In order to be God we would have to be all-knowing, all-powerful, and everywhere at the same time.  The human spirit cannot handle but some much adulation… ever heard the phrase, “absolute power corrupts absolutely”?  I’m honored to be a child of God, with all of the privileges that come along with it.  Psalm 119:73 made me almost speechless… It blows my mind that the God of the Universe formed me.  Not only that, but that He breathed in me.  Not only that, but He is still shaping and fashioning me into a thing of beauty and purpose, with a perfect and submissive heart, a willing mind, and steadfast spirit.

… and that family… is Good News!

U Blessed!
Have A Fabulous Day… and don’t sweat the small stuff!
