Finally, all of you should be of one mind. Sympathize with each other. Love each other as brothers and sisters. Be tenderhearted, and keep a humble attitude.  Don’t repay evil for evil. Don’t retaliate with insults when people insult you. Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God has called you to do, and he will bless you for it. For the Scriptures say,“If you want to enjoy life and see many happy days, keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies. Turn away from evil and do good. Search for peace, and work to maintain it. The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right, and his ears are open to their prayers.  But the Lord turns his face
      against those who do evil.”

[1 Peter 3:10]

Good Morning Beloved!

MySpaceGraphicsandAnimations.orgHAPPY FRIDAY!

I heard someone say recently regarding a well known public figure that, “they just need to stop talking”.  Recently, there seems to be an even greater influx of public opinions.  Every day, another person seems to be getting lambasted in the media for something that they have said.  The bible says, “Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth! [James 3:5]Proverbs 18:21 tells us that, Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”  I don’t think we realize the power of a spoken word.  Hebrews 11:3 says that, “Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the Word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.”  Just by a Word.  When God breathed on Adam, something happened that was so astounding, I don’t think we will fully comprehend it on this side of heaven.  ‘Ru-ah’ .. the breath of God.  A completely different creature was formed from that dirt.  There are those who want to equate us with animals.  They would call us just another mammal.  No, we are humanity.  No animal was ever breathed on by the Father.  That sets us apart from any other created thing.  With that separation comes responsibility.  Not to abuse, but to nurture and protect.  Not just the animal kingdom, but other “God-breathed upon humans”.  We need to know that words matter… our words matter.  With the power of our tongue, we can crush someones’ spirit, or give them hope to keep going.  If we “search for peace”, we will find it.  We are blessed to be a blessing.

The ‘Mountain’… is it moving or laughing?

For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

Mark 11:23

I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart.

Mark 11:23

Good Morning Beloved,

Happy Friday!   What an absolutely beautiful day!

What are we saying?  Is the mountain moving or laughing?  God says some interesting things right?… Sounds crazy doesn’t it.. talking to a mountain.  So, what do we do?  We try to rationalize it, or somehow make it fit what we think God is trying to say.  First of all God never stutters.  When He speaks, He is fully capable of backing up what He said.  Our problem is timing.  Just because the thing doesn’t happen this minute, this day or even (gasp!) this decade, we lose faith that it will ever happen.  Then we try to help God out (remember Abraham and Sarah…that house is still in shambles over that one).  God’s ways are higher than ours, His thoughts higher than ours… He is marvelous.  Ever notice how the best things in life, the most costly, the most precious, the most delicious, are those things which take the longest to make.  Things that simmer a little longer will taste a whole lot better in the end.  My good friend used to be a terrible cook.  I’m not calling her out, she knows who she is.  She was a very impatient person.  She used to cook box mac-n-cheese, but couldn’t wait for it to finish… her end result was a ‘crunchy’ mess. (thankfully, she’s come a long way and is a great cook today).  Now, my pastor, on the other hand, can make a baked mac-n-cheese that is so good it will have you singing… the difference?  Time.  He knows that to have a good finished product takes time.  So it is with the mountains in our life.  If the mountain is not moving, find out why.  Either it will with time, or you weren’t supposed to be talking to it in the first place.  What I do know is that God cannot lie…

The power of God can remove any obstacle that is preventing you from getting to where God wants you to be. Our faith allows God to release His power in our lives, to remove the mountains in our way.

Club Lips

Written by FAVORED1 on June 30, 2008 – 10:07 am -

Good Morning Beloved,

Happy Monday!   Remember ‘sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me’?…. We have found out that words, while not breaking our physical skin, can penetrate our ‘spiritual and emotional’ skin.  Words can hurt… and words can heal.  Our whole claim to the gospel of Jesus Christ hinges on the “Word” of God.  The Word that the Spirit of God breathed into the hearts of men and women of God.  They in turn wrote those Words for us, and over 2000 years later, we are directly affected by them.  Words that tell of Jesus’ sacrifice and of His triumph. Words that show us the way to salvation.  Words that teach us who God is.  Words that affirm how much God loves us.  Words that correct us.  Words that instruct us on everyday living.  Words that build up families. Words that tell us how we should treat our enemies, as well as our friends. Words that express commitment.  Words of warning.  Words of prophecy.  Words of deliverance.  Words….. Words are so powerful that Proverbs warns that, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof“.  (Proverbs 18:21)

I love the cartoon featured below.  It is a powerful reminder to me…. Regina … monitor the patrons of “club lips”.

Cartoonist’s Comment:

It is very important that we not allow just any word through the door of our lips.

Watch Your Mouth :0)

Written by FAVORED1 on March 26, 2008 – 5:18 am -

Good Morning Beloved,

Hope your morning is moving along swimmingly LOL!…. This morning I remembered something ”the grown” people used to say all the time when I was little… “watch your mouth”.  Now, I was a smart kid, and I had a tendency to associate words with pictures.  I would think, now how can I ‘watch my mouth’?  Unless, I look in a mirror, my lips are too small to see.  I learned that they did not literally mean to look at my lips, they were issuing a warning that something I said (or was about to say), was about to get me in trouble.  We would do well to remember that now as adults.  The bible says that, Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof“(Proverbs 18:21) and Deuteronomy 30:19 ”I call heaven and earth to record this day against you that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing. Therefore choose life, that both you and your children may live“.  Yes I know that people can settle themselves on that one nerve… you know the ‘reserved nerve’.  Especially those closest to you, family, friends and co-workers…. Whoa!  You think to yourself, I’ve just had it!… I’m going to tell them about them self!  Listen here you no good, sorry blankety blank blank…you always been a blankety-blank… you daddy was a no good blankety blank, yo’ Mama and yo’ slap-happy grand-pappy were all no good!  You will never be…errrrr! STOP!… is that life-speaking?  Is that edifying?  Are you building up their spirit or wounding their soul?  Well I’m mad!  I can’t say anything positive right now!  Well, cover your mouth with your hands and walk away…. oooohhh.. yes I know… it’s tough, but you can do it.  Remember “greater is He that is in YOU, then he that is in the world”.  So ….I’m going to say repeat what my Mama said so many times…. “watch your mouth“!

U BLESSED,

Have An Exceptional Day!

Regina
