In The Image Of … Who?
Written by FAVORED1 on February 3, 2010 – 4:07 pm -Wednesday, February 3, 2010
Then said He unto me, son of man, hast thou seen what the ancients of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the chambers of his imagery? for they say, the LORD seeth us not; the LORD hath forsaken the earth.
[Ezekiel 8:12]
*******
So God created man in His own image, in the image of GOD created He him; male and female created He them.
[Genesis 1:27]
In The Image Of … Who?
Good Afternoon Beloved,
God made us… so He knows us. He knows all of our thoughts, our imaginations, our secrets, our motivations. That is both scary and wonderful. Ever stop to think about what God sees in the course of a day. The death, destruction, debauchery and decay, in the midst of the beauty, innocence, goodness and love. The faithful among those who twist and pervert His Word at every turn. Those who would create God in their own image, instead of recognizing that we were made in HIS image. That thought is stuck in my heart. God has made it so easy to know Him. He has placed His own Spirit within us so that we can become more like Him, and He gave us His Holy Word that we can learn of Him. The more we learn, the more assurance we should have. I say “should have” because I know that there are people who have spent countless hours in bible study, only to still lead lives of confusion and self-destruction. We need to have something else. The Bible says that:
For unto us was the Gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the Word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. [Hebrews 4:2]
Faith is something we all have. We were all given a measure of faith by our God. Even those who refuse to acknowledge Jesus as Lord of their lives have faith in something. When our faith is focused, things begin to happen. As a side note… do you realize that fear is actually faith in reverse. Trusting and believing in the negative. We need to take inventory of everything we’re afraid of… everything we’re afraid to do, and get to the root of what the problem is. I used to be afraid to speak in public. An unexpected benefit of working in theater ministry is that it completely killed that fear. The root of my fear, was a fear of looking crazy or saying something foolish. I was afraid I would fall or embarrass myself… I have experienced ALL of the above, so now… no worries
! I have several friends who have started various ministries. All of them have the same things in common. They all love God with all of their hearts, and they are all working toward their vision. They are not sitting around, waiting for something to happen. They are filing corporation papers, installing officers in their companies, producing Gospel Stage plays, writing books, etc. etc. They are doing the “work” of the ministry. They are all praying and seeking God for direction. They are all “waiting” on the Lord, but they are not idle. They have put their hands to the plow and are working in the vineyard. Their Father in Heaven who made them in His image, sees their labor of love, that for many of them, goes unnoticed by people. He sees and He will reward them openly, because He sees Himself in them… you too.
…. and that Beloved is Good News!

He thinks you are in his spot… that’s why he hates you
Written by FAVORED1 on July 27, 2009 – 1:55 pm -“You were the model of perfection, full of wisdom and exquisite in beauty. You were in Eden, the garden of God. Your clothing was adorned with every precious stone red carnelian, pale-green peridot, white moonstone, blue-green beryl, onyx, green jasper, blue lapis lazuli, turquoise, and emerald— all beautifully crafted for you and set in the finest gold. They were given to you on the day you were created. I ordained and anointed you as the mighty angelic guardian. You had access to the holy mountain of God and walked among the stones of fire. “You were blameless in all you did from the day you were created until the day evil was found in you. Your rich commerce led you to violence, and you sinned. So I banished you in disgrace from the mountain of God. I expelled you, O mighty guardian, from your place among the stones of fire. Your heart was filled with pride because of all your beauty. Your wisdom was corrupted by your love of splendor. So I threw you to the ground and exposed you to the curious gaze of kings. You defiled your sanctuaries with your many sins and your dishonest trade. So I brought fire out from within you, and it consumed you. I reduced you to ashes on the ground in the sight of all who were watching. All who knew you are appalled at your fate. You have come to a terrible end, and you will exist no more.”
[Ezekiel 28:12-19]
He thinks you’re in his spot…that’s why he hates you!
What a comedown this, O Babylon! (Lucifer) Daystar! Son of Dawn! Flat on your face in the underworld mud, you, famous for flattening nations! You said to yourself, ”I’ll climb to heaven. I’ll set my throne over the stars of God. I’ll run the assembly of angels that meets on sacred Mount Zaphon. I’ll climb to the top of the clouds. I’ll take over as King of the Universe!” But you didn’t make it, did you? Instead of climbing up, you came down— Down with the underground dead, down to the abyss of the Pit. People will stare and muse: ”Can this be the one Who terrorized earth and its kingdoms, turned earth to a moonscape, Wasted its cities, shut up his prisoners to a living death?”

Blessed to be a blessing…
Written by FAVORED1 on May 4, 2009 – 11:53 am -Monday, May 4, 2009
And it came to pass from the time that he had made him overseer in his house, and over all that he had, that the LORD blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake; and the blessing of the LORD was upon all that he had in the house, and in the field.
[Genesis 39:5]
“Blessed to Be a Blessing”
Good Morning Beloved,
Happy Monday! ![]()
For the outside observer the story of Joseph is one of the most confusing scenarios in the bible. Here you have a boy whose only real crime was being born to the favored wife. His daddy doted on him and his brothers hated him. On top of an already tense situation, God starts to give him dreams where he is lord over his family, and perhaps unwisely, he tells his brothers. They decide to get rid of Joseph and end up selling him into slavery. He is sold to Potiphar, captain of Pharaoh’s guard. Potiphar held a lot of power and prestige, but Joseph’s arrival did something to his household. The bible says that Potiphar’s house prospered because of the blessing of God that was on Joseph. The change had to have been radical for anyone to even notice. Joseph was elevated over the house to the point that Potiphar did not even know what he had. He completely trusted Joseph. I believe God does the same with us today. We are all strategically placed whether we are working in the White House or the House of Pancakes, we are there for a season and a reason, and God will bless that establishment because we are there. I’ve found that when our season is over at a place, it is over. We may be ‘down-sized’, or the company may go under, but basically that closed door, is another door opening someplace else for us. I’ve been there. At the time, it is uncomfortable and scary. Our heart screams, “God, what is going on? I have bills, family, living expenses! I need a job!”. God knows our needs before we ask. While we are squirming under the pressure, the way is already made. Sometimes we know the answer, but we don’t like it, so we drag our feet through that door. Once we submit our will to God, and acknowledge that His ways are not like our ways… once we realize that He knows what He is doing because He knows the whole story, and we only know a fraction of it … a large part of the struggle is over.
… and that Beloved is Good News!

Father God, in the Name of Jesus. Forgive us for any way that we have fought against Your will for us. You know what we are made of. You know what we are capable of doing through You. We know that You have a purpose and a mandate on our life. A destiny that will affect many others. You have called Your church to be a lighthouse in the middle of dark stormy waters, leading the lost to You. May we realize that You have already stamped Your blessing on us. A blessing meant to be a blessing to somebody else. Father help us to see Your assignment for us today…in Jesus beautiful and matchless name.. amen.

STOP… DROP… and ROLL!
Written by FAVORED1 on March 10, 2009 – 9:25 am -Tuesday, March 10, 2009
“STOP… DROP… and ROLL…”
*******
Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares about you.
[1 Peter 5:7]
*******
Good Morning Beloved,
Remember what they taught us in school. If we were ever on fire, they told us to STOP, DROP and ROLL. We were told that running only made the fire worse, but dropping to the ground and rolling would put the fire out. Some of us have never been in a physical fire (thank God), but we are surrounded by spiritual, emotional, societal and metaphorical fires. It could be having more bills than money, or a family that is torn in shreds, or severe health challenges. Whatever the fire, S D & R is good advice.
STOP! … Take time to pray, meditate and think about the situation. There is a better solution and sometimes it is easier then we thought. Ever had an idea ’pop’ in your head, and said, “hmmmm…. why didn’t I think of that before!”.
DROP… Let some stuff go. Whether it is a foul temper, a toxic relationship, or an unnecessary expense.
ROLL … it off of you and onto the Lord by faith. Especially if it is something that you have no control over anyway. We cannot control people, so if it is a person, pray and “roll” them over to the Lord. Do as much as you can, but realize that you are not their God and there is only so much you can do.
It will be spring soon, we can do some ’spring’ cleaning early. Not just the house and our closets, but our entire lives. I was looking through a telephone bill recently, and realized that I have been paying for services in a package, that I rarely use and some of them I never use. Time to ’snip-snip’. A good rule of thumb is, if the thing (whatever it is), has not been used in a year…. get rid of it. We will find that we are carrying a lot of unnecessary weight (and not just on our body). Ever lost a few pounds, and felt like you are breathing better… that is because you are. When we drop whatever weight we are carrying, we will feel so much better and be able to focus on areas that were neglected when we were bogged down….
…. and that my friend is Good News!
U Blessed!

TOTAL SURRENDER
Written by FAVORED1 on December 17, 2008 – 8:50 am -Wednesday, December 17, 2008

“TOTAL SURRENDER”
“I Surrender All/No One” CeCe Winans
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cjsz6fRnsDc
Good Morning Beloved,
Total surrender….ouch… I don’t know about you, but those two words make me a little nervous. What that tells me about me, is that there are some areas in my life that I’m still trying to hold on to. Certain rooms in my temple I really don’t want Jesus to see yet. Why? hummmm… good question. The best answer I can think of is, that there are independent places my human spirit that I don’t want to release… the reason … fear. Fear of doing something that will make me look a little foolish. Fear of failure… fear of the price that comes along with great success. Fear of getting hurt – did you notice how many times I mentioned the word “fear”?. That is probably the main underlying factor. God said He “did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and a sound mind”(2 Timothy 1:7)… so where did it come from? That is a question that we need to ask ourselves. If we can discover where the fear came from, we can overcome it. Yesterday’s thought was ‘Get to Steppin’… what hinders our movement? What is stopping us from releasing ourselves to the God of our Salvation. How is it that we can trust Him with our souls for the next 100 trillion years and beyond … but are afraid to give Him the 80 or 90 years here on earth….. the question of the ages. No matter what happens, God will do us good and not evil all the days of our lives. Situations in our life may not always be good, but they will work out for our good….
and that dearly beloved is Good News!
U Blessed

Just Trust … God IS!
Written by FAVORED1 on November 4, 2008 – 11:59 am -Tuesday, November 4, 2008
Oh, how abundant is Your goodness, which you have stored up for those who fear You and worked for those who take refuge in You, in the sight of the children of mankind!
{Psalm 31:19 ~ New Living Translation}

Beloved,
Walk in the favor God has bestowed on you today! God has already blessed you. We cheat ourselves when we do not realize who we are, and what we actually have. Cynicism, fear, and procrastination are all symptoms of a much greater problem… lack of trust. When we trust God, we have hope. When we are hopeful, we are filled with the belief that no matter what is going on right now, God is. Not only that, but God is a rewarder of them who diligently seek Him. If I get the new job, God is… if I don’t get it … God is. If I marry that fabulous “Man-a-God”… God is…. If I never get married… God is… If my baby wins the Nobel peace prize, or becomes the nations’ first black woman president… God is…. if she never gets a job… God is. If I get that dream house…. God is.. if I don’t …God is. Regardless, of what my family does, regardless of what the nation does, regardless of what the international community does… regardless of what the economy does, regardless of who believes in Him and who does not believe in Him… it does not negate the fact that He is. God is…. God is past, present and future all rolled into one. He never changes and is light years away from us in terms of His thinking, but yet He can hear, understand and respond to the simplest prayer uttered from a mouth whose heart calls out to Him. God is! I like the word ‘is’… no matter where we are… there He is….
That my precious friend, is Good News!
U Blessed

Discern, Discern, Discern…. :0)
Written by FAVORED1 on September 10, 2008 – 9:13 am -Wednesday, September 10, 2008
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Then shall you return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serves God and him that serves Him not.
But the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
Good Morning Beloved,
…..Keenness and accuracy of mental vision; penetration is the power of seeing deeply into a subject in spite of everything that intercepts the view; discrimination is a capacity of tracing out minute distinctions and the nicest shades of thought. A discerning person is not easily misled; one of a penetrating mind sees a multitude of things which escape others; a discriminating judgment detects the slightest differences.

ASK-SEEK-KNOCK……. OPENED.
Written by FAVORED1 on July 21, 2008 – 11:37 am -Good Morning Beloved,
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:…” [Matthew 7:7]
And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. [Luke 11:9]
“This is the third time I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established”. [2 Corinthians 13:1]

That’s a great Word isn’t it? 2 different Apostles… same Word. Is there something we need to ask for? Why haven’t we? Sometimes we feel, that what we need is not important enough to warrant God’s attention. In His Word, we find that His desire is fellowship with us. He doesn’t want our only communication with Him to be “gimme, gimme, gimme”… but, He doesn’t want a wrong perception of Him to hinder us from communing with Him and asking Him for what we need or desire. I have heard people say that you’re only supposed to go to God on important matters, world peace, famine, pestilence, death and disease, you know…. the “biggies”. These same people believe that it is selfish to pray about ”petty” matters like who to marry, where to live, what type of job have, what kind of transportation etc. The bible makes it clear that God is interested in every thing that concerns us as an individual, as well as the collective body of Christ. Sometimes what stops us from asking for a thing is a little pride. It takes humility to ask someone for something. A lack of trust in God could be another reason. The bible says that,
“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him”. [Hebrews 11:6]
Now, let me throw this out….. God is not Santa Clause. He does say no. That is not a bad thing. There have been many situations, where I thought I really, really wanted something, and now years later, I praise God He didn’t give it to me! Also, there have been situations I have found myself in, that I would not have particularly chosen, and it turned out to be a blessing in disguise. I am learning more each day to lean and trust on Jesus. He knows what is best for me, and He knows how to get the best out of me, to bring Him glory….. the same holds true for you too! When I moved to DC, I was going into the 11th grade. I wanted to go to Duke Ellington and study dance…. (I really thought I could dance back then). I prayed for it. When I got there and saw the other dancers rehearsing, I totally freaked out and lost my nerve. I met a young lady who was trying out for the drama department, and I decided to hang with her. She neglected to tell me that you had to have an audition piece. I wanted to run… but decided to stay. Everyone was so good. I re-enacted a scene in a book I was reading at the time. IT WAS AWFUL!… needless to say…. I didn’t get in. I ended up at Cardozo, where I met my life-long buddy Tina…. now my daughter’s Godmother. She kept me out of A LOT of trouble. I think that episode at Duke stuck with me… I never liked failing, so after school… at the urging of an older family friend… ok, “Woogie” wouldn’t take no for an answer!…. I registered in the National Conservatory of Dramatic Arts and studied theater. It was a love I didn’t realize I had, but it probably would not have happened at all if I had not totally blown the audition at Duke and embarrassed myself!
U Blessed,
Have A Fabulous Day

Watch and Pray and Do What God “Say” :0)
Written by FAVORED1 on June 11, 2008 – 4:36 am -Good Morning Beloved,
Praise God from whom all blessings flow! What an absolutely beautiful morning! I ran across an obscure story in the old testament. It made me thank God for His Mercy and His Grace through His Son Jesus. The man’s name in the story is not given. He is simply referred to as “the man of God”.
1 Kings 13
And then this happened: Just as Jeroboam was at the Altar, about to make an offering, a holy man came from Judah by God’s command and preached (these were God’s orders) to the Altar: “Altar, Altar! God’s message! ‘A son will be born into David’s family named Josiah. The priests from the shrines who are making offerings on you, he will sacrifice—on you! Human bones burned on you!’” At the same time he announced a sign: “This is the proof God gives—the Altar will split into pieces and the holy offerings spill into the dirt.” When the king heard the message the holy man preached against the Altar at Bethel, he reached out to grab him, yelling, “Arrest him!” But his arm was paralyzed and hung useless. At the same time the Altar broke apart and the holy offerings all spilled into the dirt—the very sign the holy man had announced by God’s command. The king pleaded with the holy man, “Help me! Pray to your God for the healing of my arm.” The holy man prayed for him and the king’s arm was healed—as good as new! Then the king invited the holy man, “Join me for a meal; I have a gift for you.” The holy man told the king, “Not on your life! You couldn’t pay me enough to get me to sit down with you at a meal in this place. I’m here under God’s orders, and He commanded, ‘Don’t eat a crumb, don’t drink a drop, and don’t go back the way you came.’” Then he left by a different road than the one on which he had walked to Bethel. There was an old prophet who lived in Bethel. His sons came and told him the story of what the holy man had done that day in Bethel, told him everything that had happened and what the holy man had said to the king. Their father said, “Which way did he go?” His sons pointed out the road that the holy man from Judah had taken. He told his sons, “Saddle my donkey.” When they had saddled it, he got on and rode after the holy man. He found him sitting under an oak tree. He asked him, “Are you the holy man who came from Judah?” “Yes, I am,” he said. “Well, come home with me and have a meal.” “Sorry, I can’t do that,” the holy man said. “I can neither go back with you nor eat with you in this country. I’m under strict orders from God: ‘Don’t eat a crumb; don’t drink a drop; and don’t come back the way you came.’” But he said, “I am also a prophet, just like you. And an angel came to me with a message from God: ‘Bring him home with you, and give him a good meal!’” But the man was lying. So the holy man went home with him and they had a meal together. There they were, sitting at the table together, when the word of God came to the prophet who had brought him back. He confronted the holy man who had come from Judah: “God’s word to you: You disobeyed God’s command; you didn’t keep the strict orders your God gave you; you came back and sat down to a good meal in the very place God told you, ‘Don’t eat a crumb; don’t drink a drop.’ For that you’re going to die far from home and not be buried in your ancestral tomb.” When the meal was over, the prophet who had brought him back saddled his donkey for him. Down the road a way, a lion met him and killed him. His corpse lay crumpled on the road, the lion on one side and the donkey on the other. Some passersby saw the corpse in a heap on the road, with the lion standing guard beside it. They went to the village where the old prophet lived and told what they had seen. When the prophet who had gotten him off track heard it, he said, “It’s the holy man who disobeyed God’s strict orders. God turned him over to the lion who knocked him around and killed him, just as God had told him.” The prophet told his sons, “Saddle my donkey.” They did it. He rode out and found the corpse in a heap in the road, with the lion and the donkey standing there. The lion hadn’t bothered either the corpse or the donkey. The old prophet loaded the corpse of the holy man on his donkey and returned it to his own town to give it a decent burial. He placed the body in his own tomb. The people mourned, saying, “A sad day, brother!” After the funeral, the prophet said to his sons, “When I die, bury me in the same tomb where the holy man is buried, my bones alongside his bones. The message that he preached by God’s command against the Altar at Bethel and against all the sex-and-religion shrines in the towns of Samaria will come true.”
Isn’t that something? He was doing well. It was easy for him to turn down the king, because he probably expected the King to try and pay him, plus he probably didn’t like or trust him anyway. The lying old prophet, however, caught him off guard, because he seemed sincere, and he thought he could trust him. He thought that he was like him. The problem was, God had already given him instructions, he didn’t listen and he died. As we move closer to our destination, we will encounter all sorts of obstacles designed to try and stop us. The ultimate goal of the enemy of our soul is total annihilation. Destruction of us period. He knows that the only way he can ‘touch’ God is to destroy God’s Beloved …you and me. Should we be paranoid? NO… but we should be watchful and discerning….
……watch and pray and do what God ’say’
.
U Blessed!
Have A Fabulous Day

Have You Asked???
Written by FAVORED1 on May 21, 2008 – 4:58 am -Wednesday, May 21, 2008
Good Morning Beloved,
… such a pretty morning it is too! Today, I was pondering on Jesus’ Words:
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. ”Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets. (Matthew 7:12)
This scripture made me think, of how many times I find myself in a situation… and never ‘ask’ God for the solution. I’ll ask friends, family members, co-workers, … people in line at the McDonald’s…. but not God. I wondered why, with my saved-sanctified-Holy Ghost filled self… that I have had a tendency to “forget” to just ask God. I try to rationalize it by saying that “God already knows the situation…. better than I do… so I don’t need to tell Him”. While this statement is true… it is a cop-out
. I’m talking about me now
. Remember, God desires fellowship with us. He is that “friend that sticks closer than a brother”. He wants me to reverence Him yes, but also to trust Him with everything. Trust Him with the smallest inconvenience, or the toughest struggle. The greatest joy or the greatest pain… He wants us to share with Him. He is the real source of all joy, and the comforter and healer of all pain.
God I thank You. You are great. You are the ruler over everything. Your power is matchless. Your arms not too short to save. You are Wisdom personified. True Love You are. I thank You for the eyes that read this message. I pray that You bless their soul, strengthen the weak, empower the powerless, meet every need, heal every body, soothe every fevered mind. You said that You would keep them in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You. Help us to realign our focus. We set ourselves in agreement with You today. This is the day that You have made and we shall rejoice and be glad in it. Thank You for our family, friends, co-workers and everyone who we come in contact with today. Use us as Your vessel to pour out, what You have poured in to us this day. Return the oil to the whole body. Remember Your church. Hear our prayers as we turn our faces toward You…. In Jesus Name…. Thank you Father…. Bless Your Holy Name…. Love You….Amen.
